What? Well, II does start with a electric pad first then shifts to the set. Idk, you might need a better sound source because I've never had an issue hearing the drums in any ST song.
The reason why you can’t hear any drums in the first half of the song is because II uses an electric pad and he’s not playing his kit until around halfway through when the guitars come in. This cover just adds drums over the electric sounds already and it sounds dope 👌
This was done intentionally, it’s supposed to be muted like a lot of the sounds in the beginning it’s all a build up to the “car crash” the electric drums set a tone more somber and the real drums come in to give dramatic tone shift it’s actually genius music theory concerned. Something similar is done in a song where they use a synth bass in the beginning and then the actual bassist comes in later to give that effect of loudness and more full feel.
Man i never comment but gotta say I love this cover! I keep coming back to it, listen to it at least weekly. Great song and great spin you put on it. Keep it up, more Sleep Token covers please!

It’s a Yamaha EAD10. It’s a module for his drum microphone that’s clipped onto his bass drum and that’s how he got the recording of his playing
Yup! EAD module going straight into the Omni mic attached to my bass drum hoop . Running that into my phone to record the audio on the Rec’n’Share app

Constructive Criticism here - Do not like the tuning on the toms, the might benefit with a more higher tuning, and the Snare has a lot of overtones - they need some snare weights, and the mix needs some work too
Hey ! Totally valid , while I like the tones some people might not. I appreciate your thought on it though, I’m not much of an engineer more of a musician but always looking to get better
