thanks guys. yeah was around 200 hours over two monthes in the back alley getting my ass kicked. well worth every cut bruise and burn. 65000kms on the swap so far
Nothing a plastic cap on the hood wouldn't fix. Forget the modesty, that's a pretty cozy fit, and it goes - that's all you need from a swap *this* big. Also, a full-on manual mode is a must-have on these kinda machines.
could tell you were canadian right away even before I saw the plate haha. cool swap, definitely don't see that everyday. cant' believe your tach works with that too. although im sure theres been alot of adapting in this project. once again, very cool.
I'm in Australia so I'm not sure what the c3500 came out with, does the 453 Detroit give you more top end or are you going for reliability. Have you been able to hook up ac and heater.
Im planning on doing this swap with my 96 chevy k3500 crew cab 1ton 4x4 solid axle swap what all parts do you need to do swap if i may ask i found a motor for 2 grand out of a dozer but would like to no more about swap an parts
Great Swap and ingenuity... and thanks for the video of it. If you don't mind me asking, what did the whole project from start to finish... cost you?.... including the cost of the engine. Do you still have it?... and what kind of fuel mileage are/were you averaging? Which trans are you running?... Thank you sir, and I appreciate any and all info you can give.
Id say safley about 10 grand by the time its built if every part had to be purchased. I had a few parts around. The 4l80e lasted 100 000kms, it being replaced with a 4spd auto (jr403a) and a 4 spd sm465. Made about 23mpg empty or fully loaded.
are you using an full manual valve body? I'm putting an 1.9 TDI in my explorer and don't want to spend a lot for a TCM thinking going full manual valve body
Nope gm computer outta the drive by wire 6.5. I have a 6.2 grumman pcm setup set to 3100 rpm. Probably best stock pcm to use. 91 grumman with a 6.2 4l80e
It's been parted out about a year ago. I put 100 000 kms on it. Was a great machine. Truck cab/body were getting very tired. Building a new vehicle now. 253t in a Honda Accord wagon. Should be 50 mpg and a great commuter.
@@Cb9wagon Oooh noooo! I was gonna ask if it still lives. At least ya did the build, it was successful and ya got 100,000 km of fun/service outta the thing.

my favorite chev/gmc model of all time with a 2 stroke jimmy.

This truck with the Detroit in it is pretty cool not gonna lie.
Would you consider a body lift. Might give enough clearance for the hood. Just an idea.
Qwantwz hp??
@@manoelgid4283175 horsepower at 2,500 rpm, 282 foot-pounds at 1,800 rpm.
Very nice paint job on the engine before installed.
Lmao

Stay tuned. I'm going to put up a video shortly on it.
How does it push that big truck along? Did it work good with the 4L80?

A very tight squeeze in there.
now thats a good GM diesel instead of the 6.5
Only set to 2,400. Full load is usually 2,800 and no load can be 3,000.

All it needs is an Allison Transmission
Did you invented the nuclear bomb ?
Clark 5 with a 2 speed rear-end will work.
