Melinda, it's nice to hear from you. These past three years have been very "👁 opening. " My perspective: if it exceeds my monthly expenses, the bag is not worth it. If it doesn't make my heart soar anymore, it has to go.
Love this and we don’t talk about the downsides or negatives of some of our luxury purchases. Yes we all have different opinions and jus because you don’t like a certain bag from a brand doesn’t mean you don’t like the brand overall. Very insightful ☺️
I couldn’t agree with you more on the items in this video. The Goyard tote has always looked cheap and plastic to me. You’re paying for the name obviously like you would with the other brands but for that price point I rather go with a LV bag.
I may be generalizing, but subscribers, myself included love bags, it's an addiction. There will always be a bag that I want. I have sold so many became there's not enough room or days to wear multiple bags. I am keeping my favorite luxury because the prices aren't justified if I were to replace my favorites 🙂. Minnie! I just received my Gucci Ophidia in the beige & white color way today and your video helped me bunches! I just bought the Chanel mini lambskin a few months ago and agree, it’s kind of overhyped. I did pay extra for a personal shopper but one is enough in my closet. I feel pretty when wearing but I wouldn’t repurchase *especially* at the current prices.
I have multiple goyard GM totes and wear them almost daily. Airport. School. Work. Overnight bag. I was actually thinking about purchasing the green in Paris this winter. Funny how what is so functional for one person isnt for another.

Hi Minnie, yes you are right, we all look at things differently. Personally, if I can afford it and love it, it is worth to me and my wardrobe, example: my Chanel classic flaps, minis and other ones I own. They are worth to me because they make my heart sing, and because I love to wear them 😂. Just like many others, that love luxury cars and they buy them because how it makes them feel, others that loves expensive watches or ppl that collect sport paraphernalia and are willing to pay just anything to get some items 😂
I bought my LV Carry All in 1990. It is a 45 which is perfect for me to use on wonderful get aways by car for a few days. Enjoyed your video. You are right in saying bags mean a variety things to people who buy them. I love quality and buy a bag to keep because to me, it is attractive.

I agree with everything you've said. I have given my unpopular opinion about straw bags and people gasp. A straw bag is a casual, throw your vegetables or wet bathing suit in the summer, and go. It is a natural biodegradable fabric that will fall apart the more you use it, that's just a fact, so paying over $20 for one is nonsensical. And don't get me started on Goyard quality, the canvas pattern rubs off, the canvas cracks and rips, the leather cracks and threads start poking out. I don't get why people complain about LV quality and somehow give Goyard a pass. Is it because it's not as popular so people don't see the defects or expect as much from the brand? Who knows.
Re: brands getting a pass, I know exactly what you mean. I could be completely wrong but it seems there are a couple houses that get a “pass”from some people because they’re so prestigious that saying anything against their quality is taboo and the possibility is beyond impossible. 😅♥️ Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this topic Love!
Totally agree with Goyard. With due respect I think the Saint Louis looks flimsy, and has very little aesthetic appeal. But other Goyard bags that are more structured are beautiful!
I love my chanel jumbo! I purchased it 2/2022 for $9,500. I always wanted one, a new one. I have a WOC, 2.55 224 reissue, and a medium CF all prior to 2014. I wanted a jumbo to complete it and find it soooo useful and I love it as my mom bag to carry my stuff plus hers. Now, that being said I wouldn’t buy another. I also don’t know if I didn’t have it, idk if I would still buy it on the current price. I’m not sure lol. I do love it. I might 😂. I want a goyard artois MM but I’ve been on the fence for a year. I don’t have goyard at all. I want to have it as a mommy/ toddler diaper bag but idk if it’ll hold up. Lol. I have a chanel deauville in beige BUT im so careful with it cos of the color after my daughter got spaghetti sauce on it (I got it out- phew 😂). Since then I’ve been looking for a luxury tote that isn’t too crazy expensive. I was looking at the neverfull too but I had one in 2008 and sold it and now can’t bring myself to buy another at the current price point- but there really isn’t any other bag like it… that hard wearing, long lasting, etc
And I agree with you I don’t think handbags are investments either I mean you can make most of your money back from some handbags. But it’s not investment. It shouldn’t be looked at someone either.
After watching Tanner Leatherstein, my view of certain luxury bags have changed..😮 i kinda knew in the back of my mind, but seeing him tearing them apart and seeing the ACTUAL quality (or lack thereof) has made me a hell of lot more hesitant on giving up my hard earned.. money.
I may be in the minority but I do travel with my LV luggage. I use them as carry-ons on flights and I put them in the trunk of my car. They’re luggage, so I expect that they will get wear and tear. I’m not rich either and don’t have a ton of luxury bags but I don’t really see the point in buying luxury luggage if you’re not going to use it. But that being said, my LV Keepall bandolier is my least favorite piece of luggage because the opening is not the easiest.

I've just bought the Chanel Jumbo preloved -- I love the size as a shoulder bag (it's very slimming!). I want this one forever now I have it. I agree financially with you, but who knows the future as Chanel are on the road to more steep increases where only certain customers will be able to afford them.
Watching with hubby, a few minutes in he said "I love Minnie, she's saying all the same things I say." and he's right! A lot of the time it's just the name that carries the price tag. 🙌🏼 Doesn't stop me from buying though! 😉💕
I am thankful I was able to get both of my Chanel Medium Flaps (ultimate dream bags, one red caviar and one black) I want to say two price increases ago? (I paid less than 9k for each.) I'm with you, I can't imagine paying over 10k for a bag - I have my limits; especially with how infrequently I use them. I don't see them necessarily as an investment but I do see them as a cash equivalent because they do - at bare minimum- hold their value if they are maintained and I could rather quickly dispense with them on any number of resale websites. As wild as it sounds, once I was able to get those bags, I achieved "purse peace" the only other bag I've purchases since then was the Coach Cherry Tabby (which I use wayyyyyy more than the Chanel bags). I'm content with my little collection and am glad I purchased when I did because I definitely would not now! Aside from my other two Chanels (a woc & a mini classic from 2017) I have a handful of LV all purchased for under 2k and then some contemporary bags from Coach & Kate Spade. We all know the contemporary bags become virtually worthless as far as resale goes (you'll be lucky to get 25% of what you paid if you actually paid full price), but the LV should carry their value or be worth far more than I paid.
I had been wanting the Goyard tote for a long time but recently bought a Moreau St. Tropez tote and the quality is beyond that of Goyard for Half the price. Would totally recommend it over the Goyard
I agree with you on all points. The Goyard looks like it should be sold for less than half of its retail price. However, the tote looks awesome in ceetain colors such as red and green

The most overpriced bag for me was LV Multipochette Accessories as I thought of two badly crafted SLGs thrown together. Ironically, it is my most used bag in variety of ways. Currently, I am using my MPA strap with Neonoe which is my work bag. More than the material, we are paying for the idea of ‘luxury’.

Totally agree about the Chanel. I love my bags but I would never pay those prices for a bag. It’s ridiculous and they get away with it because people still pay. If they didn’t the prices would drop. Facts Chanel but you have people that really believe that they’re gonna get what they pay for it now that’s crazy. And I’ve seen cases where people try to get what they pay for it. Why would a person pay you what you paid for it when they could just go buy it out of the store themselves and get it brand new. It makes no sense but they have convinced people of this and that’s why you see a lot of them on the market now because they’re just sitting there they’re not getting purchased because nobody’s going to pay you full price for a used bag I don’t care what the condition is it still used

I have my medium classic flap, black/gold, and absolutely love it! I had wanted a black/silver jumbo, but I can absolutely live without it and at the current prices, I will. I know what you mean about the jumbo. That was my first Chanel and I bought it because of yours videos like 5 years ago or more (not your fault at all!! 🙏🏻) . I realized that was too big for me and and sold it for less . I’m saving to buy the black medium. But yes. I think medium is the best size but probably I will go for a preloved one this time.
This was a fun video. I have to agree with you on all of your choices. I think for me all though I love this bag to death and it was my 1st LV bag and I’ll never get rid of it the neverfull is not worth 2000. It’s canvas not leather not a lot of organization. It’s a big piece of canvas for 2000 not worth the price point. Just my opinion, but I do love the bag just not for that price.
Luxury bags are not a practical choice in terms of money spent. It is an indulgence. For sure any bag over 1 K cannot be justified. A basket bag is a great example. Great video. The Chanel and Hermès bags are a perfect example and so are any SLGs

I agree with everything and I have some of these bags. Designer Straw bags are always been appreciated from afar from me. The Keepall is absolutely not an airport bag. I have the 50 and wouldn’t imagine walking an entire terminal with it. The Goyard! Yes!!! I’ve got many people coming at me because I said this is absolutely not the bag to replace your Neverfull for. It’s NOT as sturdy at all, it will break. Bags over 10k, I’m guilty of it ( Hermès) and I know it’s not rational and I shouldn’t pay that much. Sometimes our love for handbags takes the best out of us.😂 The Chanel CF will remain one of my favorite bag in the world, it’s my only reason to own 2. Ha ha I would buy it again at today’s price. But. Yes it’s too pricey.

Interesting video, I would put that Goyard bag at number one. It looks cheap, isn’t particularly attractive, and doesn’t look like it would be worth more than $20, so the fact that it’s almost $2000 with tax is crazy to me😱

The Jumbo was my dream bag, and I thought I’d be getting it for my 40th birthday, but I changed my mind. I have the Chanel WOC and while I love it, I don’t think Chanel’s quality warrants it’s current prices. On the other hand, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Gucci recently - their designs and their prices in the past year, so I’ve shifted my focus to them. I do think that Gucci’s leather is phenomenal and I don’t mind paying for that.

I agree, I bought mine pre loved and it was in amazing condition I mean it looked new and let me tell you, after my first trip with it I got a stain on the vecheta. I owned the LV capucines mini and realized, not worth what it costs. You can easily buy a preloved lady Dior and be the same thing with a huge savings.
It is beautiful and classic. I thought about purchasing one that I saw that was pre-loved. But changed my mind because of the condition I expected a little bit more so I sent it back. And the newer ones trendy ones that they make those are the worst.

That’s so true about the keep all! I love it so much but it can get heavy. If I have to change planes, I usually take my lightweight LeSportsac.

I love my chanel jumbo! I purchased it 2/2022 for $9,500. I always wanted one, a new one. I have a WOC, 2.55 224 reissue, and a medium CF all prior to 2014. I wanted a jumbo to complete it and find it soooo useful and I love it as my mom bag to carry my stuff plus hers. Now, that being said I wouldn’t buy another. I also don’t know if I didn’t have it, idk if I would still buy it on the current price. I’m not sure lol. I do love it. I might 😂.
I want a goyard artois MM but I’ve been on the fence for a year. I don’t have goyard at all. I want to have it as a mommy/ toddler diaper bag but idk if it’ll hold up. Lol. I have a chanel deauville in beige BUT im so careful with it cos of the color after my daughter got spaghetti sauce on it (I got it out- phew 😂). Since then I’ve been looking for a luxury tote that isn’t too crazy expensive. I was looking at the neverfull too but I had one in 2008 and sold it and now can’t bring myself to buy another at the current price point- but there really isn’t any other bag like it… that hard wearing, long lasting, etc
And I agree with you I don’t think handbags are investments either I mean you can make most of your money back from some handbags. But it’s not investment. It shouldn’t be looked at someone either.
After watching Tanner Leatherstein, my view of certain luxury bags have changed..😮 i kinda knew in the back of my mind, but seeing him tearing them apart and seeing the ACTUAL quality (or lack thereof) has made me a hell of lot more hesitant on giving up my hard earned.. money.
I may be in the minority but I do travel with my LV luggage. I use them as carry-ons on flights and I put them in the trunk of my car. They’re luggage, so I expect that they will get wear and tear. I’m not rich either and don’t have a ton of luxury bags but I don’t really see the point in buying luxury luggage if you’re not going to use it. But that being said, my LV Keepall bandolier is my least favorite piece of luggage because the opening is not the easiest.
You said nothing untrue! Great video. I’m in agreement - no bag is worth 5 figures. A bag can also only be an “investment” if you’re willing to sell it. Most of us aren’t buying bags and locking them away, ready for the moment it’s right to sell. Especially at these price points. Goyard… don’t get me started. 😂

I've just bought the Chanel Jumbo preloved -- I love the size as a shoulder bag (it's very slimming!). I want this one forever now I have it. I agree financially with you, but who knows the future as Chanel are on the road to more steep increases where only certain customers will be able to afford them.

I am thankful I was able to get both of my Chanel Medium Flaps (ultimate dream bags, one red caviar and one black) I want to say two price increases ago? (I paid less than 9k for each.) I'm with you, I can't imagine paying over 10k for a bag - I have my limits; especially with how infrequently I use them. I don't see them necessarily as an investment but I do see them as a cash equivalent because they do - at bare minimum- hold their value if they are maintained and I could rather quickly dispense with them on any number of resale websites. As wild as it sounds, once I was able to get those bags, I achieved "purse peace" the only other bag I've purchases since then was the Coach Cherry Tabby (which I use wayyyyyy more than the Chanel bags). I'm content with my little collection and am glad I purchased when I did because I definitely would not now! Aside from my other two Chanels (a woc & a mini classic from 2017) I have a handful of LV all purchased for under 2k and then some contemporary bags from Coach & Kate Spade. We all know the contemporary bags become virtually worthless as far as resale goes (you'll be lucky to get 25% of what you paid if you actually paid full price), but the LV should carry their value or be worth far more than I paid.

I had been wanting the Goyard tote for a long time but recently bought a Moreau St. Tropez tote and the quality is beyond that of Goyard for Half the price. Would totally recommend it over the Goyard

The LV duffle bag would definitely get damaged at the airport, but it’s beautiful nonetheless. I would use it for road trips as well.

The most overpriced bag for me was LV Multipochette Accessories as I thought of two badly crafted SLGs thrown together. Ironically, it is my most used bag in variety of ways. Currently, I am using my MPA strap with Neonoe which is my work bag. More than the material, we are paying for the idea of ‘luxury’.

Totally agree about the Chanel. I love my bags but I would never pay those prices for a bag. It’s ridiculous and they get away with it because people still pay. If they didn’t the prices would drop. I buy my bags to wear but also so my children can sell them one day when I’m gone ☺️🥰

Facts Chanel but you have people that really believe that they’re gonna get what they pay for it now that’s crazy. And I’ve seen cases where people try to get what they pay for it. Why would a person pay you what you paid for it when they could just go buy it out of the store themselves and get it brand new. It makes no sense but they have convinced people of this and that’s why you see a lot of them on the market now because they’re just sitting there they’re not getting purchased because nobody’s going to pay you full price for a used bag I don’t care what the condition is it still used

I know what you mean about the jumbo. That was my first Chanel and I bought it because of yours videos like 5 years ago or more (not your fault at all!! 🙏🏻) . I realized that was too big for me and and sold it for less . I’m saving to buy the black medium. But yes. I think medium is the best size but probably I will go for a preloved one this time.

This was a fun video. I have to agree with you on all of your choices. I think for me all though I love this bag to death and it was my 1st LV bag and I’ll never get rid of it the neverfull is not worth 2000. It’s canvas not leather not a lot of organization. It’s a big piece of canvas for 2000 not worth the price point. Just my opinion, but I do love the bag just not for that price.

The small vanity Chanel bag is beautiful and would look great in the background for your videos. But not practical at all.
Luxury bags are not a practical choice in terms of money spent. It is an indulgence. For sure any bag over 1 K cannot be justified. A basket bag is a great example. Great video. The Chanel and Hermès bags are a perfect example and so are any SLGs

I agree with everything and I have some of these bags. Designer Straw bags are always been appreciated from afar from me. The Keepall is absolutely not an airport bag. I have the 50 and wouldn’t imagine walking an entire terminal with it. The Goyard! Yes!!! I’ve got many people coming at me because I said this is absolutely not the bag to replace your Neverfull for. It’s NOT as sturdy at all, it will break. Bags over 10k, I’m guilty of it ( Hermès) and I know it’s not rational and I shouldn’t pay that much. Sometimes our love for handbags takes the best out of us.😂 The Chanel CF will remain one of my favorite bag in the world, it’s my only reason to own 2. Ha ha I would buy it again at today’s price. But. Yes it’s too pricey.

Interesting video, I would put that Goyard bag at number one. It looks cheap, isn’t particularly attractive, and doesn’t look like it would be worth more than $20, so the fact that it’s almost $2000 with tax is crazy to me😱

The Jumbo was my dream bag, and I thought I’d be getting it for my 40th birthday, but I changed my mind. I have the Chanel WOC and while I love it, I don’t think Chanel’s quality warrants it’s current prices.
On the other hand, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Gucci recently - their designs and their prices in the past year, so I’ve shifted my focus to them. I do think that Gucci’s leather is phenomenal and I don’t mind paying for that.

Love your honesty and prospective on this video. I only have one Chanel bag, the Trendy CC, and I still cannot believe I own that bag. Chanel prices are just too much for my lifestyle. I still want to get a Chanel Shopping Tote from the preloved market but no any time soon. I also love the look of straw bags, but refused to pay more than $90 for it 😅😂😊I get my fix from Target it TJMax every other year or so. 😢 to hear your comments about the Goyard tote but completely understand and I think deep down my thoughts are exactly the same and that is way I cannot get myself to get that bag.

Omg 2 things. The basket bag, I could never justify that price, I rather get a custom basket bag on etsy. Second, the keepall! I agree, I bought mine pre loved and it was in amazing condition I mean it looked new and let me tell you, after my first trip with it I got a stain on the vecheta. So yes I'm glad I didn't spend the full price!

I owned the LV capucines mini and realized, not worth what it costs. You can easily buy a preloved lady Dior and be the same thing with a huge savings.
It is beautiful and classic. I thought about purchasing one that I saw that was pre-loved. But changed my mind because of the condition I expected a little bit more so I sent it back. And the newer ones trendy ones that they make those are the worst.
Totally agree with you about the Loewe basket bag! I too fell into the hype immediately and once I got it, I was underwhelmed. I should of got the Etro basket bag for half the price and same look. Now my Loewe large hammocks bag????? PRICELESS 🤌🤌🤌
