    Hi Everyone,
I made some changes to my channel this winter that resulted in YT deleting all of my comments/replies on these videos. It's really a shame, because I feel like I have answered quite a few theory questions in the comments section over the years. If you have a question, even if it looks like it's been asked before, please don't hesitate to post a comment, I'll do my best to get back to you.
    Cheers,
    JH

You manage what other videos and books fail to make clear. Makin sails. What a well presented subject. Thank you!

Awesome video! Great instruction. I am a novice sailor and what you discussed explained some very important basics. I have been scouring the net to gain as much knowledge as I can and this video will no doubt be a foundation.
It's somewhat shocking that there is a video series of an older sailor single handing across the pacific and he is having a VERY hard time with a boat that won't point, he cant get upwind effectively and this adding WEEKS to passages. After watching this video it stuns me that he is sailing in a very remote area of the world with sails that are years and years old and very bagged out....... I'm betting that those sails lost their shape thousands of miles ago, that combined with the reef he has growing on his hull, probably had something to do with the fact that the French airforce sent a jet out to find him after he was two weeks beyond his expected arival in Hiva Ova.
    Fascinating stuff....
I am a pilot and it is very interesting to me to learn the ways that the sail shape (a vertical wing really) can be manipulated and effected. There are many things we do with airplanes to change the shape of the wing and the airflow across them.....
