KURMA: Kurma is one of the most peculiar Avataras. First of all, the story of Kurma is not literal. It concerns an ancient "cosmic/etheric" issue that mostly involved "cosmic/etheric" beings (good and not). Let's say that the negative vibes of adharma were spreading from Earth throughout all the Milky way. Like any earthquake starts from an epicenter. It was necessary for the "lords of the Cosmo" to obtain something vital from what here is vaguely known as "Ksirosda". But I shall not talk about it now. The Turtle was chosen as symbol meaning "strong foundations" because of its ability to anchor itself firmly to the ground. The shell of The Turtle symbolizes Earth, and the animal itself that abides the shell symbolizes Lord Vishnu and His ability to step forward or retreat according to the necessity. The story developed this way because, at that time, long ago, human beings used to perceive God mostly through animals, and, the civilization of that time, remembering the Presence of The Divine, used the image of a turtle to commemorate that event, also as a symbol of stability and independence of the Planet. But this story teaches a more important lesson, for any living being, no matter what their nature is, being they Deva or Asura, spiritual/energetic beings or beings of flesh (whatever planetary system they belong to), meaning that they have to cooperate between themselves and with God. If there is no coalition/cooperation, even between Deva and Asura, and there is no synchronicity with God, then there is no "Amrta". For they (Deva/Asura) both represent 2 faces of the same coin: duality. Respectively the positive (+) and the negative (-). And a balance must always be found.
I love how you explained it. The moment I heard the story I was so fascinated by it. I never heard the story in my childhood in detail and its totality, I feel grateful now because if I had, I would have taken it as literal and wouldn't catch it's essense which is there's no evil and good, only God (consiousness) and it's manifestation (polarities, gods& demons). Both are valid and both are trying to reach God, only one seems to be the hard way that is negative (in disharmony with the nature and God) and that's why Vishnu offered Nectar to Devas I believe. Beautiful symbology we have in Puranas but unfortunately, we have taken those stories literally instead of catching it's archetypal meaning.

*@Shashikanth Pai* No, he didn't. Lord Vishnu is the personification of righteousness, he don't cheat anyone. This is the actual story of churning of cosmic ocean for nectar.
Supreme Deity Lord Vishnu is the creator, protector and destroyer of this and all past and future universes. if he judges that the Devas who dutifully do their duties he assigned them to keep the universe operational deserve to partake the immortality nectar but not the Asuras who disturb them, create chaos and wreck havoc, then how he did it is just for us mortals to understand that each action has its own meaning
Based on the story depicted by the narrator it surely looks that way. But if we were to follow the actual mythology then the reason why the asuras were not granted the nectar was cuz an asura(whose name I forgot) tried to cheat his way in the process, when Narayana was distributing nectar equally on both sides. Thus, that angered Lord Vishnu who killed those cheating asuras. Another reason behind asuras being treated unfairly is entirely due to their bad karma itself. Lord Vishnu being the preserver has certain rules and is smart in the way of not having asuras an advantage over devas. If we were to compare this to Lord Shiva, he is referred to as "Bholenath", the kind one who is pleased by anything, who treated everyone fairly, doesn't matter if it's an asura or a deva. Continuing onto the Samudra Manthan lore, the gurus of asuras, Shukracharya pleaded to Lord Shiva that the asuras are being treated unfairly and this may result in their existence cuz of the devas. Thus, Lord Shiva granted him the Sanjivani mantra.
@@NoMercyX0 The words like ‘fair’ and 'unfair' are not relevant to the Asuras. How can the Asuras even talk about 'injustice' and 'unfairness' when they were not fair to anyone in the first place? So, how did Shiva do justice to the Asuras by supporting crimínals like them who cheated on the God in the first instance? How could Shiva be referred to as 'Bholenath' while being irresponsible initially? Lord Shiva never treated everyone fairly. It is Lord Vishnu who treated everyone fairly by sustaining everyone equally and unconditionally.
Ever heard of a movie called “my friend Ganesha”? God(s) are personal. You are free to refer to any God as Lord or Bhagwan. Just don’t try to enforce what you prefer to add as suffix. I’m pretty sure Vishnu is not so petty that he expects people to add lord or Bhagwan before his name NOR would he be offended if I call him Vishnu bro. God(s) is personal. Don’t make your way of calling god the norm. You are doing precisely what the the believers of Allah and the last prophet do. Enforce their personal belief.

That's why Lord Vishnu punished him immediately by cutting off his head, as he was pure evil and would have caused immense destruction to God's creation if he had become immortal. This is the actual story of the churning of the cosmic ocean for nectar.
wrong this is not the correct story of samudra manthan.lord vishnu decided to give necter to both demigods and ashuras but one ashura named sarvabhanu did cheating and lord vishnu got angry and hence decided not to give necter to ashuras.god does not decieve anyone weather they are ashuras or demigods.please correct your explaination.i really like your content but please do good research obn any topic because they are mythologies not stories that can be altered.
so didnt VIshnu cheat the asuras?
*@Shashikanth Pai* No, he didn't. Lord Vishnu is the personification of righteousness, he don't cheat anyone. Demons infact cheated him when he was providing nectar to everyone from Devtas to demons in Mohini Avatar, and that time the *_chief head_* of demons named RAAHU cheated him by disguising in a form of a Deva in order to consume the nectar desperately with négative intention, and that's why lord Vishnu punished him immediately by cutting off his head as he was pure Evil who would cause immense DESTRUCTION to God's creation if he had become immortal so.
@@jaydutta7711 isn't righteousness personification of Paramatma, i.e., Supreme Deity Lord Vishnu

@@jaydutta7711 I never mentioned that vishnu keeps on doing cheating to asuras.. may be u assumed it.. In this particular instance the intention of mohini avtaar was clear to not to give asuras the amrut irrespective of what rahu did..
I am not demeaning anyone but just pointing out that shiv is impartial to asuras and devas but we cannot say that about vishnu may be..
@@pratik1620 But you are still WRONG na? Because according to the original sacred scriptures, the intention of Mohini Avatar was clear to give Devas and ASURAS the amrut irrespective of what rahu did. Not to give Devas only.
So hadn't been cheated during this particular incident, the Asuras would have achieved the Amrut from Vishnu, but their desperation and chéating prevented them from getting Amrut.
You are actually demeaning Trinity by saying such foolish stuff by pointing out that shiv is impartial to asuras and devas as if lord Brahma and Vishnu is partial towards their own creation when they are the one who created Asuras in the first place and making them alive unlike Shiva who only destroy creation for the reconstruction. So what made you think that we cannot say that about Vishnu?
@@jaydutta7711 then y he didnt gave to rest of the asuras? Y not giving amrut to asuras first? After distributing amrut to devas she disappeared.. clearly there was no other intentions of mohini avtaar then to distract asuras..
Clearly the devas were also not pure and clean hearted but asuras get beheaded..
And dont ever say that shiv only destroys.. he drank that halahal poison and not any other god..he has attained his powers through yoga, meditation is detached from material things, gives beings like bhoot, pisach and even asuras his blessings, he is ista dev of asuras..unlike other gods who lavishes in their kuntha

Plz narrate in Hindi
Why do you say “devaaaa” , “ Indraaaa”, “asuraaa” . You can say “Dev” , Indra, , Asur etc …. This is the trap created by Hindu hatters. Please don’t fall into that.
It's just the difference between sanskrit and hindi
Southern Indians use that pronunciation. They do not shorten their words as northerners tend to do, as far as I understand
@@krakmynutzYou are right! As the southern india is tropical in nature, their pronunciation tends to not end shortly. Actually the words such as Dev, Indra, Asur are just shortened version of the original southern language words Devan, Indran, Asuran respectively.
