      Here's the issue I have with that, being the son of a company when that whole situation happened, you set an example for others to follow, if your boss has you sign a contract with rules you have to adhere to, then you follow them, if you have to be in by 7am, then you come in a 7am.

    • @lunasilvermoon2283
      @lunasilvermoon2283 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wodensthrone5215 Exactly right and you have to give this one to Sr. . Jr's argument at the fight that ended with him being fired from OCC was that they've been getting projects done for 10 years and he doesn't see the problem with the way he's going about it for that reason but in at the end of the day.. a contract is a contract.. and if that says your work times are from 7am till 3pm , then you gotta honor that contract... or... don't sign it at all. The flipside is that Paulie's ''relaxed'' way of working clearly worked for him and what worked for him... worked for OCC because all those awesome bikes that brought fame and fortune to OCC spawned from Paulie's creative mind for the most part. Without Paulie.. there wouldn't either have been an American Chopper or it would have ran for 2 seasons at the most.

      I know Paul Sr. just sits on his a** yelling about the way people do things. I have never seen him since the beggining touch and work on a bike. Atleast jesse james made every bike. And not to mention its all acting for the drama viewers

    In 2005 at Daytona bike week i had the pleasure of sitting with Cody , Vinney & paul senior for a meal,the one thing i can say is that for nearly 2 hours of sitting and eating and drinking with theses guys the old man did not ever have a bad word to say about Paul jr or any of his kids,just praise & affection,I think tv/fame/money straines anyone let alone family.

      Having employees is so much different than having your son work for you. I have seen all the shows and maybe you should take a step back from your comment. I believe that Paul Sr. was tough on Paul Jr. because he loved him more than you could ever believe. You see it just wasn't for getting the bikes completed on time, not showing up to work on time and not having a more serious attitude towards work it's because he wanted Paul Jr. to be more serious about the job than he let on. Paul Sr. just set high standards in the hope that Paul Jr. to live up to but he didn't have the patience and ability to get him there. Some people have an ability to mold someone as their child and some don't. It's not that Paul Sr. is bad needed to learn patience and the ability to guide someone. I think on some of the bike builds Paul Sr. should have let Paul Jr. fail sometimes like on deadline and let him learn on how to fail and let him learn how to pick himself up.

    Old school dad love, it's very different and hard to understand.
    If I call my pops on the phone, and he comes by, to help me with anything means that he just told me he loves me. And to tell him I love him, I buy his favorite beer and put it in the fridge without telling him or just bring him his favorite snacks without asking him. Also FYI Fighting over the stupidest things means I love you and I miss you. Anyone else fight cause you turned on a light?

    We all know that Paul Senior and Junior have had their issues since the show began, but I believe most of the hype and drama is caused by Discovery and the way they edit each show to cause as much aggro as possible, just as they do on Gold Rush!!

      100% tv drama. Yea they had that huge fallout but discovery has made it seem last for years and years and years just to profit and try to revamp what the show was back in the day. American chopper gear, games etc was in every Walmart for years making mega millions and they need to realize it will never be popular again.

    I have a lot of anger with my dad. My dad loved his alcohol which pretty much destroyed and consumed his life. He was a hard worker and I give him that but I never had to work for him like this relationship. We never did anything together like they did on all their shows. But we didn't have a fight and separate like did and I told him I still loved him and appreciate all he did for me before he died. I hope Paul Sr. and Paul Jr repair their relationship before either of them regret it before something happens.

    The thing that made OCC great was the Hammer and the Nail. SR would be the Hammer and JR would NAIL IT. Take the 2 away you have a PB Sandwich with NO jelly or Pb just stale bread. The show was all about SR and JR.... I understand bla bla... However its just that simple.. They both play a HUGE role in the success of the show.

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth
    @TruthAndMoreTruth 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I used to love watching the show, but make no mistake, this is not a real business, and the success of both Sr and Jr are 100% attributed to the fact that they were on a national TV show. No show, No business. They act like they are world renowned bike builders, but they are really just reality show stars with a shop.
    Knowing this changes the way one views the show.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And so it should. As you say it is a show and people get caught up in it being all real, but when it is all said and done it is a "reality" show based on a tiny basement business. I think only a fool would not capitalise on the opportunity to try build it into something more than your raw talents would normally allow, but the fame went to their heads and they started to believe the hype which lead them to making stupid decisions (Sr more than Jnr).
      Under normal circumstance they would have just faded into obscurity a decade ago like so many other up and coming bike builders if not for the show. Should they consider themselves world class bike builders? Probably not, but they should count themselves lucky that the show allowed them the opportunity to live the dream a little longer.

    This show is a disaster. I watched the first two episodes and nothing has really changed. Senior looks worn down by the business and all of his personal issues. He can't handle any type of criticism at all about anything. The media states he is trying to avoid filing bankruptcy on his home and other problems. I think Junior cares about his dad, but is still tired of the unnecessary drama. They may prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

      Seriously Paul Kinkade, have we been watching the same show? I see a massive change in Senior. I would go as far as saying he is almost bearable to watch now. I see a huge difference between the last time they were on and now. The ego has shrunk incredibly and the lies about things in general have also started to decline. There was a time (when they took the building off him) that he wouldn't and couldn't admit he had financial problems. He has come back to earth so much he openly admitted he had money problems on the show this season.

    I’m not really a Yankees fan, but seeing someone has willfully tried to ruin it pisses me off.
    Boston Red Sox fan is what leaps to mind, and that is just disgraceful and petty.

      @@Rover19666, the bike was beautifully done, regardless of the team.
      Imagine someone doing that to the FDNY bike.

    I enjoyed Paul Sr. ripping Paul Jr and Vinnie's ass for dragging in late from lunch everyday and walking around with a cup of coffee in their hand, instead of working, like they were getting paid to do, lol.
