edit: the title has been changed. i did not change the title bc people were telling me to or that i had to do it, i did it bc i understand the significance and i also understand why ppl felt offended by it. i understand and know that it’s not just only about the title why people were offended. people were offended by the title bc tiana is the first and only black disney princess and obviously having what i had as my title disrespected the strong meaning tiana and the movie have in general. tiana is such a hardworking black woman and that means a lot. i sincerely and genuinely apologize for those who felt offended and disrespected by the title. ty for reading. people, by the title i don’t actually mean charlotte being the main character. tiana is the only black princess and by the movie itself, race is very much important and significant just like the real world. just to justify, by the title of this video i don’t mean charlotte, who is a white girl, taking the spotlight of tiana, the MAIN character, who is the only black disney princess. i know how important it is to knowledge that tiana is the only black disney princess, when most disney princesses are white. i wish tiana would get more recognition and appreciation as a black hardworking and loving woman, especially where the time period the movie is set on. by the title i meant charlotte being the main character as in her iconic charisma and personality as a SIDE character. the title is set on for the entertainment of the video style not for the actual meaning. hope you understand. it’s always good to educate other people, feel free to speak your opinion.
What's better is that there was no hesitation to her actions. She picked Tiana up and then proceeded to lead her back to her room without that typical "Should I go or not?" dilemma some people have.
@@buggart that's a real friend there. These two have been so close since they were little and Charlotte was willing to give up her dreams of being an actual princess so Tiana and Naveen could be together. If that ain't the sign of a good person idk what is! I also can believe she wanted to help Tiana with her restaurant, and Tiana being the hard worker she is and wanting to do it on her own, Charlotte probably used the catering order to give her that little extra boost lol. And if that's the case that's a really smart way to do it; and if it wasn't and just from excitement, well she still helped her best friend lol
100% and she had zero hesitation when kissing the frog prince in attempt to make him human for Tiana. The second she knew Tiana was in love with the price she immediately gave up her dream of being with the life and did her best to help them be together ❤️
Right especially with all the magic stuff! Like a talking frog comes up to you, most would hesitate. Even if she admits she’s confused, there’s no hesitation, only determination to help her friend ;3;
the fact that charlotte who has a full pink room and cover in pink head to toe "accidentally" has a blue dress that fits tiana perfectly says a lot abt her
Always got one in backup for her bestie 😂😂 Just like how my bff has a massive closet of pink clothes but she got this outfit just for me during a sleepover
Not only that if you listen closely when she approaches Tiana after she falls she’s asking if she could give the “Prince” some Beignets and instead of being angry that they’re all on the floor she helps her friend and helps her up
Exactly, I never understand all the hate her character got. Yeah she was essentially the pampered rich girl but she did genuinely care for Tianna as a friend and I love the scene where she loans her the dress and comments something like, "Remember we were kids and we would dream. Now both our dreams are coming true."
Finally where feiminity isn't so demonized. Usually a girl who is rich, into fashion or makeup is always seen as a mean girl but even thoug she has been spoiled her whole life she is still so kind and so supportive of Tiana. So adorable
This woman is so pure. All her life of course she was spoiled but she was still so pure. She knows she can help Tia for her Restaurant but she didn't and respected Tia's decision to work her own way to her dreams. The scene where she was paying Tia for her party, she sure snuck in more than what's needed bc she just loves Tia like that and she know Tia wouldn't take it still she did it as a friend. Even gave up her own dreams to kiss and marry a Prince bc she saw how her best friend is finally having something for her own and she sees it. I just love this woman so much.
**I correct my statement, because I can see my mistake now. My new suggestion would be Kronk. I hope you can agree. I leave my original comment with a note that Gaston maybe gets his redemption Malificent or Cobra Kai style. --- Sadly Gaston isn't a prince or alive. She is probably marrying some nigerian prince. *I think they would have fit perfectly together, because they both delusional about the person they want to marry and the way to achieve it. They are both evenly matched and only circumstance preventing them from becoming the mc.
Honestly i am so sick of disney blondes for the most part, go to the majority of live sitcoms of blondes disney hires and they always eventually become incompentant whiney mean bimbos. Charlotte was a breath of fresh air. I think the best example would be the entire female cast of good luck charlie
I can't get over the fact that she had a BLUE DRESS, specially for Tiana, and we know it's for her because Lottie doesn't wear blue but pink. I love her sm.
@@Shahzad-ss1jq someone said to me that she wanted her to wear that dress, but when she wanted help from Tiana, she couldn't bare to give her pressure to wear that dress.
The great thing about Charlotte is that, while shes an absolutely spoiled rich girl, her childhood friend still comes first. She is truely a pure and good person.
@@amienoughyet Charlotte realized she didn't love him, she just loved his life style and title. She knew Tiana DID love him, and didn't care about his title and life style
The fact Charlotte and her father can eat in any 5 star cafe or restaurant but choose to eat where tia works shows how much Charlotte support and love for tia is 🥰
@@Chinoiserie9839 There is a theory that Lottie hired Tiana just so she can help her out with her restaurant since Tiana wouldn't take charity and I choose to believe this theory.
I like how Charlotte wasn't the stereotypical rich white girl. I mean yeah she had a bit of spoiled attitude, but she still wanted to help Tiana get her dream by having her cater (which sounds bad but just go with it) and letting Tiana be with Naveen because she loved him
Tiana refused her money, so Charlotte treated her as someone who wanted to achieve a dream with hard work, so she helped her by not investing in her business BUT being her first customer, which is GREAT!
Lotte is such a queen. Yeah, she’s spoiled but she’s still a great friend. Even though she was so happy to be dancing with her prince, she still left him to help Tiana.
@@vincentfichtler7758especially because she is always there when Tiana needs her. She didn't say anything about her "man catching bignes" being thrown around, she just worried for her friend and when she discovered what Naveen felt for Tiana, she was genuinly happy for her
It would have been so easy for Disney to make her a spoiled brat who plays a minor antagonistic role, but instead they make her a real friend who actually cares and watches out for Tiana. She's also just adorable
She's such a lovely subversion to the character archetypes I've gotten used to in films! She's got all these traits normally associated with rich bratty mean girl character but she's just a genuinely caring friend and her delightful excitable self.
I luv how Charlotte has a round/“chubby” face. I feel like it’s relatable to see a beautiful girl with that face type! Most pretty cartoon girls have the slim face. It’s seen as an insecurity to have a lil bby face but I think it’s so adorable
Her best friend was a poor black girl who she saw as absolutely equal to herself in the South in the past, and she was going to throw away her dreams to save her best friend. Legend. She's a perfect example of "spoiled but never rotten"
Charlotte is the perfect example of "money doesnt ruin a kid, how their raised does." Her father gave her everything she ever wanted, but you can see when he stuffs his daughters mouth when shes trying to interrupt him again that she has limits and knows them. She was raised with all the love, and obviously all the manners. You also never see anything about her mother which means her father must have gone through a lot trying to make sure she was raised right. I'm sure it help that Tiana was close friends with her and that her mother always played a good role model for Charlotte.
It says a lot about Big Daddy that he himself went to some poor restaurant at the harbor with his daughter, and neither have any reservations towards black people at all. Saying this is a rarity for the 20s would be the biggest understatement ever.
@@elliotyourarobot Do to it being on the territory of a former French colony the rules for interraciall interaction where much more lax with allot of laws made in favor of black people. Heck it was one of the few places in the US at the time where a black man could sue a white man and win.
Charlotte's design Is really pretty and I would love to have her as a friend irl if she were real, she's so nice energetic I absolutely love it. As a child I didn't really care for her much bc yk it was just a movie and I used to not really care abt the characters and only really paid attention to the story n stuff, but now Im definitely obsessed with her lmao
Yeah when I first saw the movie when I was younger I didn’t really like Lottie but now that I’m older and I’ve rewatched it I’ve realized how amazing she actually is
Someone in another comment I cant find pointed this out but notice how all her clothes are pink and that she just had a blue dress perfectly fitting Tiana lying around. My guess (and the original person who wrote this observation's guess) was that she was gonna give that dress to Tiana for when Tiana finally got her restaurant.
You just KNOW that Charlotte offered to just buy the restaurant, but Tiana refused because she's determined to make it on her own. So Lottie instead orders an insane FIVE HUNDRED beignets for her party to support her and respect Tiana's pride. I love her! 😭
To some degree I understand. Even though Charlotte could easily afford it, it would give Tiana the feeling that she didn't earn it and she owes Charlotte something.
Also if you think about it, when they have to pay at the restaurant, they never ask how much it was. Lottie just grabs a ton of money from her father and gives it to Tiana (making it basically a massive tip). So she does sneakily try to help Tiana to achieve her dream to open a restaurant
1:37 Anybody else notice she starts celebrating AFTER Tina said "getting my restaurant"? I wonder if she gave that much money on purpose, just really excited to support her friend without it being a "I'll do it for you" deal.
Lottie and her dad would have both fallen over backwards to give Tiana the money to start her own place, both as a family gift and an investment opportunity. Tiana makes food good enough for a function with royal guests for goodness sake, anything she opens will have prizes in no time. A plot point in the story is that Tiana's work ethic is too strong for her own good- sacrificing everything and refusing the 'easy way' even if its right in front of her face- so you just know she would have repeatedly turned them down if/when they offered any financial help. I'm not going to assume that Lottie was smart enough to formulate all this as a plan, but she also wouldnt be the sort to start asking for Tiana's price-list when she can just shove as much money as she can at her as a giant thank you for doing her a giant favor.
@@tracey5324 lol yeah to sum up Tiana would have refused any charity because she wanted to earn her restaurant, so Lottie find a way to give her money for her work and not just because she loves her and that's TRUE FRIENDSHIP she understand her friend
I always assumed she wanted to give Tiana money but Tiana being who she is would never except a handout like that. So Lottie decided she could kill two birds with one stone, get Tiana the most ey she needed while getting food she thinks will catch her a man. They both get what they want.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Because she never loved Naveen, only her dream of being a princess. And let's be honest, being the born heir of a rich entrepreneur is basically living like a princess.
I appreciate the fact that the writers could have made her a stereotypical mean white girl, but they didn't. Instead, they made Charlotte a sweet, supportive Southern Belle, one that I honestly wouldn't mind dating. Also, I think Charlotte may have given me a thing for country accents.
And not only that but they didn't give any of the characters those horrible accents that they typically show in movies. They use proper lingo but don't go into the incomprehension territory
It’s honestly more than that. Charlotte is a character who’s had literally everything given to her, and yet she isn’t tainted by it. And the ONE thing she hasn’t had that she has wanted since childhood she throws away without a second thought for her friend. Sure she’s spoiled, but she also genuinely selfless, purely kind and unapologetically loving
I effing love Charlotte. They could easily made her a 100% spoiled self brat, and while she is a bit spoiled, she is never cruel to anyone. I loved it when Tiana's clothes got messed up at the party and the first thing Charlotte does when she see it is check on her friend, whisk her away to get cleaned up and gives her an outfit that is just fabulous on her and even says so. But what I love the most about her is that she never once holds Tiana's background, economic status or color against her. She never mocks her for working hard or chasing her dream. Wish I had a friend just like her. She just has a heart of gold.
...but what about the guy she didn't want to dance with? "When a woman says later she really means never." Yeah she didn't owe him a dance or anything but maybe should have just straight up turned him down. Other than that I don't think she's mean to anyone. The Writers should have left that part out tbh/ didn't really add to the story and kinda makes Lottie look bad. PS. Honestly I kinda wish Lottie would get a spin off movie/ if there ever is a sequel
@@Re-writer233 she said “fillies” which means little girls, so he’s most likely way younger than her. I don’t blame her for turning him down, but she could’ve been a little nicer.
@@cupio-stardust It still plays into the spoiled little rich girl who's heart is set on another. Though, with that in mind, I kinda can't help but think she's probably had to deal with a lot of unpleasant or annoying guys because she's pretty and rich.
Ya know I’ve known a handful of people like this. Popular, wealthy, good looking, no (not much) family drama, basically privileged. But they were good souls, the kinda people you just wanna be around, genuine good people. Growing up in school I was picked on, bullied, and not very welcomed much in social circles. But I had these 2 friends, one was beautiful, super smart, popular, and Captain of the cheerleading squad, the other was her boyfriend. He was buff, handsome, Captain of the football team, popular and never drank or got in trouble. They both never once treated me as everyone else did, they never ignored me, ridiculed me, picked on me, or nothing. They would go out of there way to be nice to me, sit with me at lunch, offer to give me rides home when I was forced to walk, etc. I never forget a specific event it was on our final game of football that season our senior year, I was in the band and when everything was done everyone was just kind of socializing saying hey good job, getting photos, saying hi, saying let’s go hangout, etc. well we did this at every home game, and I remember I’d always go down to talk and there would be 100 people around me, but no one would ever talk to me, when I talked to some of my friends they say “hey”, but didn’t really know me enough to strike up a conversation, so I’d just leave the game a lot without ever talking to anyone. But that night I’ll never forget they both came up to me out of nowhere when I was sitting alone and they talked to me for like a good 30 minutes just being the nice and friendly people they’d always been. I remember when they finally left, I shed a tear because of how kind they were to me. I’ll never forget them. FYI the high school sweethearts are still together 7 years later, are now married, and expecting there first child. And I’ve never been so happy for such genuine good people. They deserve every bit of happiness they have. (Update) they just had they first baby.
man, both her and her father are just such lovable characters. they both support tiara and her family in a way and have always been friendly and lind towards them. now THIS is the sort of movie we should have today. also, yes, she is some grade A waifu material.
Not only that, but in in their time group, black people were still being hate crimed (much more than they are today) and her family, despite being a white, rich, and a very prominent family, were not racist.
In the brazilian portuguese dub, she calls tiana "Titi" (It's approximately pronounced like "tee-tee" I guess lol). It's really cute how she has a nickname for her best friend
I really like how when she ran off crying and said “I never get anything I wish for” instead of “I never get anything I ask for” because we all know that she does get everything she wants, however, as far as we know she only made one wish, to marry a prince. I mean, the writers could’ve made it ‘ask’ instead but chose not to as that would’ve made Charlotte sound bratty and ungrateful which would have put her character in a bad light.
actually yeah! any normal human would call it a reach without second thought, but to her, " wishing " means something completely different from " asking " something!! In her mind, she probably only ever " wished " to the star and never to her big daddy! Thus the specific wording is not just for pandering the audience but incredibly valid!!!
that is so true and I'm so upset they translated it as "I never get anything I want" in finnish. Such a golden line and an important one at that, and I only found out once I checked out the english dub when my english got strong enough.
They wrote her perfectly She still has a hint of entitlement to her and is just self-centered enough to be blind to other's body language when she's caught up in her fantasies, but it's never in a way that makes her feel meanspirited or unlikable
As someone that is spoiled- I agree! I Hate when ppl call me spoiled as a insult- like it's not my fault my parents give me alot 💀 tho other then that I'm just a average girl 💅
I like to imagine Charlotte might've offered to help Tiana pay for the restaurant before, but Tiana declined because she wanted to do it herself. As a friend Lottie would probably try and find little ways to support Tia while letting her work towards her dream on her own. Having Tia cater for the ball was her last pitch. Lottie's an absolute doll
You just KNOW she was trying to find any excuse to get tiana money for her restaurant but tiana refuses to take handouts so the 500 beignets thing was totally an idea she had the moment she decided to throw a party
Exactly you can see through out the movie the little ways Charlotte and Big daddy helps Tiana i’m sure Charlotte and big daddy would happily give the money to Tiana but knowing her she would never except charity
@@sgtwhisker26 I love this theory, and in the context of Big Daddy included, he was the one catering the event so the fact that he was perfectly fine with like Tiana being amongst handpicked caterers says a lot AND also a prominent white figure/family continuously going to what is apparently a black restaurant spoke volumes of the implicit themes of the movie.
I love her so much for the fact that she actually accepted Tiana not for the color of her skin but just who she is in general and Disney princesses should be more like her like we need more people like her honestly she's just amazing in my opinion
@@sippintea1936 do you not know.. history??? This movie is set in the like, 1910s-1920s, where race was a huge part of society.. I.E "WHITE PEOPLE BETTER, ANYOEN ELSE = BAD" that kinda shit.
@@sippintea1936 Also, skin color and race DOES matter, it’s a part of a person’s identity. You can see someone based of their skin color and their ethnical background without being racist or an ass about it.
I love that they didn't make her a jerk, with this scene 2:20 they totally could have had a generic "the friend gets mad at the main character" scene but instead had her specifically forgive her, god i love this movie.
What makes this even better is that in one of the Disney Princess books. When discussing about Tiana's wedding Charlotte had helped Tiana plan, cook, and taste the food for the wedding. And she also gave Tiana a gift for her wedding(idk what the gift was but I think it was something blue?) And after reading this story as a kid, I fell in love with Charlotte's character even more.
Aaw ^o^ It's nice how Disney does that kind of thing, even if they movies themselves are more for family audiences, the books are always simple and cute for kids.
This girl is probably one of the only characters that’s the closest to a best friend that’s rich and not toxic. Spoiled and a bit flawed but very likable and supportive. She gives up her dreams of marrying a prince without hesitation and kisses Naveen for Tiana and him to be happy. She’s a wonderful girl. And we deserve her in the Tiana upcoming series
I love how happy and supportive she was towards her best friend. She was just raised as a spoiled little girl who didn't have to learn about what struggle was but see how she wasn't even mad she lost the prince? Smiling and showing the most happiness out of everyone at their wedding? Adorable
Well there's a difference between Spoiled sweet and Spoiled rotten a spolied sweet is someone who has been spoiled all his or her life but yet he or she cares about the people who is close to him or her family and friends and understand that he or she can't have everything him or she wanted and willing to help those who are in need and a spoiled rotten is someone who has been spoiled all his or her life but unlike the spoiled sweet he or she thinks that he or she owned the world and thinks that he or she always gets what he or she wants and he's or she's look down on others especially poor people and usually they turned in to gold-digger.
The thing that sticks with me is that she stopped dancing with "Naveen," which she was clearly very excited for, to help out Tiana in her time of need. A true friend that many people deserve.
I saw this really stupid Tiktok hating on Charlotte because she “didn’t help Tiana with her dream”. Well, she actually did by hiring her at the Mardi Gras party so she could get some extra dollars. But you can’t really on others ALL the time! Tiana is proof of that. Lottie probably offered, but due to Tia’s hardworking personality, she probably didn’t just want to take the easy way out, and politely declined.
Tiana wanted to get her dream restaurant on her own and Charlotte just helped her along, Charlotte is a true friend and not your typical spoiled rich brat, she helped a friend in need and that is what true friendship is, helping one another and being there for each other.
Yes! Apart from giving her excessive tips for her restaurant, the dress he gave her at the party was not one of Lottie's, she was keeping it for diana when she opened her restaurant cause all the lotties dresses are pink, but that was specialy for tiana
okay but can we talk about how Charlotte literally had a dress in Tiana's size, because they both clearly have different bodies and cup sizes, like Charlotte is an overall good friend, and she was so supportive towards Tiana even if she got the man of her dreams, she also wasn't racist, since the movie was set in 1920's New Orleans, Charlotte is one of the best side characters to exist.
What I really appreciate is that, even though black people in the south were basically still servant class due to lack of money, she and her father treated everyone the same.
@@Ballet_girl1 What's really interesting is that Big Daddy could afford much more, yet he chooses to go to a poor diner at the harbor. Which means he either goes their because he wants his daughter to see her friend, or he appreciates simple food. Both say a lot about him.
The part where Charlotte is talking about how excited she is about dancing with the prince while Tia gets dressed seems mean at first glance because Tiana is upset that her dream had just been crushed. But the thing is Charlotte has no clue that any of that happened and says “OUR fairy tail dreams are finally coming true” because she is so happy for her friend.
Yeah, also she was super excited. She's not good at reading people and that mixed with extreme feelings makes her not pay attention. (thing I love as characters always seem to be very conscious no matter the age, circumstances, etc. So not realistic)
Another take I saw from a other comment was she could have asked Tiana what happened but felt it was not a good time to get her even more upset so she stayed the way she was so that Tiana could have a small moment to feel better if only a little.
She’s probably the best best friend character ever. I really like how she may be a little spoiled but she isn’t rotten. She immediately helped tiana when she was a mess at her booth without hesitation. I love that they both want each other’s dreams to come true😭 geez this isn’t talked about as much as it should be
I love the scene in 3:08 so much, cause shes not even talking only about herself.Tiana has told her NOTHING about her money for the restaurant being turned down,so in charlotte's mind shes getting her prince and tiana is getting her restaurant.
When you look into Charlotte and her father, you really get a good insight into how kind they are to Tiana and her mother. Charlotte always has multiple dresses made for her in various different styles effectively doubling/tripling Tiana's Mother's income for a gig - as well as providing a reliable source of income as a seamstress. Not only that but how likely do you think that one of Charlotte's dresses would be a perfect fit for Tiana (even if they are best friends) and not only that but also in blue which goes against Charlotte's whole colour scheme of pink? The likelihood is that Charlotte or Charlotte's father has commissioned dresses that would both fit and suit Tiana. Her father and charlotte also always come down to Tiana's cafe to snack or get coffee and probably tip very generously because they know that Tiana would refuse to accept gifts. Not to mention the whole grabbing a massive fistful of money for 500 beignets without counting; which tbf might suggest Charlotte's disassociation with the value of money, but the father who I believe is rich from being a businessman doesn't intervene, and if anything looks happy. This could imply that he is perfectly happy putting down absurd amounts for Tiana - especially if he knows anything about Tiana's dream to open a restaurant. It's great to see a character who is rich but isn't a dick but also isn't just I'll give money to the poor because it looks good. ...That said tax the rich on income that matters!
I think that’s the difference between rich and rich rich. One doesn’t have a need to show it off. But really, in the movie those two are so nice and kind and know how hard Tiana works, I love the characters in this movie.
Also, that part in the opening song where the dad gives a whole stack of money to the kid selling newspaper on the street. I feel like he's a very generous person.
This movie was honestly criminally underrated. The character development, the characters themselves, the plot, it was all amazing. And I loved Lottie. She's such a sweet friend. Rich girls are always so demonized in media, so it was great seeing a pretty, rich girl that was the most supportive character the entire movie.
Fr. The only thing I don't like in this movie is that Tiana spent most of it as a frog, and I don't recall any of the marketing hinting at this back in 2008. Tiana has such a beautiful design, so it really is a shame we only saw it for like, 15 minutes
unpopular opinion time: PRINCESS AND THE FROG IS THE BEST DISNEY PRINCESS MOVIE TO BE CREATED. as someone who grew up in New Orleans, they represented it very accurately !
If the princess has to spend most of the movie as an animal and poor lighting when a human, then you'll have many who disagree but glad you all enjoyed. I'll give it another go.
Smth I love about her is that she didn’t get mad at Tiana for ruining the “man-catchin’ beignets.” She could’ve been furious at Tiana, but she was immediately worried about her bestie! She left Naveen to take care of her friend, and even gussied Tiana up! Tiana’s dress doesn’t fit Lottie’s aesthetic at all, so it really looks like she had that waiting for Tiana all along. Charlotte is so genuinely sweet, and I love her.
We need more animated characters like her!! Sassy diva types who initially come off as annoying or spoiled but are actual sweethearts who are always loyal to their friends.
i love her so much😩😩 I love her character. The fact that she was happy for tiana when she and the prince got together instead of getting mad is pure for me. Cuz i've seen in many movies how relationships can ruin friendships, even in kid movies
something i love is that they didn't try and make her one of those "misunderstood spoiled brats." she is very spoiled and does gett upset when she doesn't get what she wants. but for Tiana, she gladly put away here childhood dream of kissing a prince. she's definitely still spoiled, but she has a good heart
This is a supportive friend; all her life she had everything she ever wanted and still managed to be sweet and kind. She was happy and supportive of her best friends decisions at every turn and even when her best friend married a prince, she was glowing with happiness for her
I adore her. I appreciate her not being the overused stereotype we've seen too many times before. She is uniquely Charlotte. A wonderful example of how to present a "side character" as something other than two dimensional.
3:15 I like how she acknowledged both their dreams were coming true: her's to marry a prince, and Tiana's to get enough funds to open a restaurant since catering this party would pay for it. She didn't even hold it over Tiana or even insinuate that her dream's happening "because" of her contribution, just that they'd both be happy. She's a sweetheart.
-is a rich princess -her best friend is a poor black woman, even tho according to 1920s high society standards "she shouldn't be friends with her kind" -"I don't care, you two love each other, be happy together. Also I will ask daddy to give you the money for the restaurant as a gift" She isn't among the Disney princesses cause she is among the Disney chads
Honestly shes the best. How many friends would dream about dancing with a real life prince, be in the middle of it and suddenly stop to help you because you looked upset and lent you a costume. She's so sweet you can bet Tiana had a "no Lottie you cant buy me a restaurant for my birthday I want to earn it" talk with her at least once!
I love how Charlotte sees that Tiana is a mess and embarrassed but instead of brushing her off or just leaving her there she helps her friend before doing anything else, she’s so sweet!
Like many people said, Lottie is spoiled, but still ver sweet and caring! And the fact that she paid her bestie and made sure she was nice and clean, it proves she’s more than just a rich girl
I love how Charlotte is super rich and spoiled, but isn’t a total dushbag and is a real friend to Tina. Ever since she was a child she never treated Tia as if she were lower than her regardless of her skin color and social status, which was real common when this movie took place back in the 30’s. I love Char’s character so much and I love how Tiana always came first to her, even when she could’ve been so much richer and titled a princess of another country but gave it all up for Tiana. She’s the true hero of this story
I love how unique her character is, it’s like I’ve literally never seen any other character like her. Like not every rich blond girl is a snobby brat that bullies poor and ugly people.
@@DigitalRag3X how do you even manage to misinterpret a comment so badly, if that’s all you managed to grasp from that then maybe you should take a step back and look at yourself
I was half expecting Charlotte to lose it and act terrible when the catering got messed up and was pleasantly surprised to see her far more concerned about her friend than the food.
"You know, I was starting to think wishing on stars was for.. babies Crazy people." -Charlotte I love this scene of hers because when she said "crazy people" she looks so ridiculous making the scene even more hilarious 😭🤣🤣
When I was younger, I thought she was too obnoxious and I didn't understand her, but as I got older, I love her so much she's such a gem of a friend and just a rare gem
I know people think she's a brat but let's be honest on how sweet she was being to tiana considering the time this movie took place It's like she treats tiana like a sister☺️
Spoiled, but never selfish. Honestly the most underrated and refreshing side character in Disney. Sure, she can be spoiled and impulsive, but she does genuinely value Tiana’s friendship and cares deeply for her happiness. Even was overwhelmed with joy for Tiana’s love with Prince Naveen.
edit: the title has been changed. i did not change the title bc people were telling me to or that i had to do it, i did it bc i understand the significance and i also understand why ppl felt offended by it. i understand and know that it’s not just only about the title why people were offended. people were offended by the title bc tiana is the first and only black disney princess and obviously having what i had as my title disrespected the strong meaning tiana and the movie have in general. tiana is such a hardworking black woman and that means a lot. i sincerely and genuinely apologize for those who felt offended and disrespected by the title. ty for reading.
people, by the title i don’t actually mean charlotte being the main character. tiana is the only black princess and by the movie itself, race is very much important and significant just like the real world. just to justify, by the title of this video i don’t mean charlotte, who is a white girl, taking the spotlight of tiana, the MAIN character, who is the only black disney princess. i know how important it is to knowledge that tiana is the only black disney princess, when most disney princesses are white. i wish tiana would get more recognition and appreciation as a black hardworking and loving woman, especially where the time period the movie is set on. by the title i meant charlotte being the main character as in her iconic charisma and personality as a SIDE character. the title is set on for the entertainment of the video style not for the actual meaning. hope you understand. it’s always good to educate other people, feel free to speak your opinion.

Wow... celebrating someone for having a poor black person as their friend, and treating that person as their equal... That's... wow.

That actually makes me respect Lottie more, she knew this was her hussle and dream and respected that. These two are soulmates I think-
Also if you think about it, when they have to pay at the restaurant, they never ask how much it was.

Meh she’s just happy for her
Lottie and her dad would have both fallen over backwards to give Tiana the money to start her own place, both as a family gift and an investment opportunity.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
charlotte having NO resentment at the end was so top tier. she’s a real friendo
Hell yeah
Plus she's funny and that's one of my favorite qualities in a partner
i expected her to be a snobby jealous white girl like in every other movie, but they were besties 👯♀️
"When a woman says later she really means never."
Yeah she didn't owe him a dance or anything but maybe should have just straight up turned him down. Other than that I don't think she's mean to anyone.

She's a Queen.
she rlly is!!
Will teknisk speaking yes.
The thing that sticks with me is that she stopped dancing with "Naveen," which she was clearly very excited for, to help out Tiana in her time of need. A true friend that many people deserve.
I wish Lawrence kept the disguise of Naveen...at least till he got an opportunity to bang Lottie
Her voice actress did such a good job and it earned her an Annie award for it in the voice acting category
I can imagine the sessions to be very exhausting, I mean Charlottes energy is constantly at 120%.
@@Mediados Exhausting, but happy, I bet; she's got such a happy personality 😀
The VA work for this character is top-notch, I'm not surprised.
And im also pretty sure she didnt help so Tiana could get her dream on her own with only a little help by her side
I truly believe this was 50% the point of having her there to begin with
To show Tiana had an easy way, and she _didn't_ choose it
None related but I love your Tailsmo pfp! They are my OTP forever qwq
This is why I like the character so much even though she's spoiled she's sweet and funny as a character
okay but can we talk about how Charlotte literally had a dress in Tiana's size, because they both clearly have different bodies and cup sizes, like Charlotte is an overall good friend, and she was so supportive towards Tiana even if she got the man of her dreams, she also wasn't racist, since the movie was set in 1920's New Orleans, Charlotte is one of the best side characters to exist.
What I really appreciate is that, even though black people in the south were basically still servant class due to lack of money, she and her father treated everyone the same.
@@Mediados Charlotte and her father were probably two of the most decent white people in that time, the both of them are genuinely just amazing people
@@Ballet_girl1 What's really interesting is that Big Daddy could afford much more, yet he chooses to go to a poor diner at the harbor. Which means he either goes their because he wants his daughter to see her friend, or he appreciates simple food. Both say a lot about him.
Heard they did things differently down there so I'm actually not surprised.
@WyldStyle No, apparently, things were always different in New Orleans.
I love that they both want each other’s dreams to come true😭 geez this isn’t talked about as much as it should be
2:17 I love how even though she had been waiting all night for the prince she was willing to make him wait in order to help a friend
I love the scene in 3:08 so much, cause shes not even talking only about herself.Tiana has told her NOTHING about her money for the restaurant being turned down,so in charlotte's mind shes getting her prince and tiana is getting her restaurant.
Exactly. Even in her happiest, most excited moments, she was smiling not just for herself, but for her friend too.
Tiana has such a beautiful design, so it really is a shame we only saw it for like, 15 minutes
unpopular opinion time: PRINCESS AND THE FROG IS THE BEST DISNEY PRINCESS MOVIE TO BE CREATED. as someone who grew up in New Orleans, they represented it very accurately !
let’s make this a popular opinion!!
yes
Its always been my fav disney princess movieee srsly i agree
@@royalaza yasss, after that come snow white tho...
If the princess has to spend most of the movie as an animal and poor lighting when a human, then you'll have many who disagree but glad you all enjoyed. I'll give it another go.
If Disney was able to make a movie for Cinderella’s step sister finding love they should make Charlotte her own movie too!
I agree 1000%
Yea!
I would watch so many shorts about her
I would also just love to see her being an aunt to Tiana and Naveen kid or kids 😊
Louder!
1:17 I love it when her father stuff the desert in her mouth and didn't say anything after that shes been raised well
2:22 i find it so sweet how she is angry, or mad, but genuinely worried about tiana, and helps her best she can
im gonna cry
she has my heart
Rarity from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic
@@auden4531Or maybe pinky pie, she’s not the spoiled type but she’s hyperactively energetic, brightening anyone’s day up, like one of my friends!
@@mochicaca123 I like how you think non gendered version of sir/madam! However consider this...
Pinkie Pie and Rarity mixed equals Lottie!
Shellsea from fish hooks?
Rosetta from the Disney Fairies movies ❤
Can we talk about how she completely forgot about Naveen when she saw Tiana upset, true gal pal
i love her so much😩😩 I love her character. The fact that she was happy for tiana when she and the prince got together instead of getting mad is pure for me. Cuz i've seen in many movies how relationships can ruin friendships, even in kid movies
yess!!
Girl literally gave up her lifelong dream for her best friend. Hands down my favorite Disney support character. ❤
❤
something i love is that they didn't try and make her one of those "misunderstood spoiled brats." she is very spoiled and does gett upset when she doesn't get what she wants. but for Tiana, she gladly put away here childhood dream of kissing a prince. she's definitely still spoiled, but she has a good heart
they did so good with her character
Funnily enough, when she _did_ get the chance to kiss a prince, she did it for her friend
This is a supportive friend; all her life she had everything she ever wanted and still managed to be sweet and kind. She was happy and supportive of her best friends decisions at every turn and even when her best friend married a prince, she was glowing with happiness for her
Her accent, facial expressions, character design PERFECTION and how SUPPORTIVE she is of her best friend
I adore her. I appreciate her not being the overused stereotype we've seen too many times before. She is uniquely Charlotte. A wonderful example of how to present a "side character" as something other than two dimensional.
3:13 The meaning of Queens fix each other's crowns
3:15 I like how she acknowledged both their dreams were coming true: her's to marry a prince, and Tiana's to get enough funds to open a restaurant since catering this party would pay for it. She didn't even hold it over Tiana or even insinuate that her dream's happening "because" of her contribution, just that they'd both be happy. She's a sweetheart.
I love her cause she didn't get angry at Tiana for taking her Prince. True best friend...
She was never dating the real prince sooo....

-is a rich princess
-her best friend is a poor black woman, even tho according to 1920s high society standards "she shouldn't be friends with her kind"
-"I don't care, you two love each other, be happy together. Also I will ask daddy to give you the money for the restaurant as a gift"
She isn't among the Disney princesses cause she is among the Disney chads
She’s so hyper that she almost moves faster than the number of frames per second the animators can catch 😂
I love her. She's spoiled but not a brat. She's a good person. Idol
Like not every rich blond girl is a snobby brat that bullies poor and ugly people.
i honestly love her relationship with her father. it’s wholesome and non-problematic :) the whole cafe scene was my favourite.
Its like she is a natural born villain who just refuses to be a villain no matter what. One of my favorite Disney characters
I love how in a time full of racism, she put all of that aside and only focused on their friendship. SHE’S A MATERIAL GIRL, AND I JUST LOVE HER
Material girl cause tiana was 3/5ths property? That’s a bit racist don’t cha think?
What the hell are you talking about. Charlotte never saw Tiana that way, and I never said that I think that

Charlotte is the best friend we all need
2:09
her face is funny
Even tho Charlotte was spoiled in every aspect she still treated tiana like a true friend and that's what I love about her
I was half expecting Charlotte to lose it and act terrible when the catering got messed up and was pleasantly surprised to see her far more concerned about her friend than the food.
She's honestly so adorable I would give her the world
She the best character in this movie, she supported and sweet and just so adorable
"You know, I was starting to think wishing on stars was for.. babies

When I was younger, I thought she was too obnoxious and I didn't understand her, but as I got older, I love her so much she's such a gem of a friend and just a rare gem
Charlotte is a blonde, pink princess and a Daddy's girl but is also the heroine bestie and its a amazing person
I know people think she's a brat but let's be honest on how sweet she was being to tiana considering the time this movie took place
It's like she treats tiana like a sister☺️
Spoiled, but never selfish. Honestly the most underrated and refreshing side character in Disney. Sure, she can be spoiled and impulsive, but she does genuinely value Tiana’s friendship and cares deeply for her happiness. Even was overwhelmed with joy for Tiana’s love with Prince Naveen.
