  • About 15 years ago, I found a dead and mummified cat in an abandoned area near a reservoir. He was a wild cat, that is, a wild domestic cat, who lived with other cat companions. The animal had died months ago, and was already decomposed and mummified. Now only bones, dry skin and some dry tendons remained.
    After cleaning and disinfecting it, I put the disassembled skeleton away waiting for the right moment to assemble it. Finally, that moment came and I started this project that I wanted to share with you.
    In this part, I assemble the spine. Little by little, I will advance and upload interesting videos of the process. I hope you enjoy it.

    This video came at a perfect time! I'm in the process of cleaning a cat skeleton and was just wondering how to put the skeleton together. Really appreciate that you put this video out, looking forward to the next parts! :)

    Thank you for this video! I am just about to start a raccoon and I have never put a skeleton together before. (A friend found it mummified in her barn and I thought it would be cool to put together as clean bones)

    I obtained a cat skeleton in a similar way to you (found it at the end of a culvert pipe - only bones, no skin or fur). I only got as far as cleaning and assembling the skull, but wasn't really sure how to go about assembling the rest, so it's been in storage ever since. I'm really excited that you are doing this series so I can (hopefully) follow along and assemble the rest of her (or him?) and give her a cozy spot in our home. Thank you for sharing this!

      Thank you very much! :)
      As usual, it will be a series of several detailed videos and at the end a summary video. I hope they'll be useful.

      How the hell you found that wonderful thing from a pipe?

      @@mortemoccasus2412 I was also wondering why it was there. It's a fairly big drainpipe that runs underneath driveway access. My guess is that it was probably sheltering there during a winter, but didn't make it through that season. That's just my guess though, I can't say with certainty that that's what happened.

    My dear fellow, why do you drill from the vertebrae?

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is because I want to insert a wire, and I do not want it to be seen.

    Hello, I am starting my first skeleton build and was wondering what size wire you have for the build. And the white glue is just hobby glue? I'm starting with a cat and after that I am going to prepare my late pet who'm I had prepared for building. Any tips what I should watch out for? Love your build they look really professional

      Thanks you very much :)
      The wire is around 1mm thick. It does not need to be very rigid, because when joined with the glue, the whole is very firm.
      White glue is hobby glue, yes. When it dries it is transparent.
      My biggest recommendation is to practice and practice. Each skeleton is a challenge in itself, with challenges to be solved as they arise.
      I hope you get a great result with your articulation.

      @@GalileoRamosSkeletons thank you so much. I am currently working on the cat with your videos alongside. I have just completed the spine, ribs and cartelage and next I will do the paws. I love your cheeky glances at the camera, always makes me laugh. After that I am going to try a Fox, maybe in a more articulated position

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    what gauge of wire do you use for the spine? and what size drill bit?

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is 1.5mm thick steel wire. The bit is a little bigger, 2mm.
