- “Rapper shit” is an unreleased track by Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar. Produced by Tommy Black, this song features a sample from the song “Jesus Is My Lord” by Bob Wilson and Pauline Wilson. This song was originally supposed to be on Ab-Soul’s up an coming album at the time, Longterm Mentality. Anyone still listening in 2024?
Yes! It’s too 🔥! A classic!
New to me today
Hardest Rap song of all time honestly
This shit is hard still😭
Hell yeah
10+ years later still can’t get enough of this song😌
saaaameeee
You know this!!!!!!!
what a time when this dropped man. Very nostalgic
man my first year on this song i know it's going to age well i see myself driving my dream car playing this on the way home from the dealership.
We here!!
"You spent more time boasting about what u do then you do so by the time your shit is due it's Doo Doo" That line still trips me out lmao
and who knew that too cool fool that used to slip.......
Yea that shit is crazy!!!!
OMG!!!!! SOUL IS ...... CRAZYYYY😭😭😭
Maybe the best bar about do do, definitely top 5
Like this nigga different 🙃🙃🔥
Ageless. Timeless. This will forever transcend any era of rap.
🗣
And people don’t even know about it !! That’s what trips me out. This shit is pure Gold.
@@ScottR3389 There are quite a few gems from this era ppl don't know about. I kinda just laugh when I put ppl on because I know how much a person's perspective can be shifted from just one track.
“back teeth never been an agony but i got wisdom” bro wtffff 😭😭
🥶 🔥
We about a week from 2024 and I still can't get pass " and I follow no ruler even if I'm under drastic measure" 🤧🔥
But whatever
That's why he's number 2 all time
It's 2024 and it still a banger this shit ain't getting old
Classic style never goes out of fashion because it's style not fashion.
Will never get old man
Not at all
The chemistry between these 2 men on this track is unreal.
yeah it's just perfect! love this song and this WestCoast instrumental!
On most tracks that they are on
Nothing but net
Allielua
Good song
I think ab soul bring the best out of kendrick, kendrick always out performs everyone on there songs ab soul makes it hard for him to do that
Best shii i ever heard on opnions of these two
Exactly bruh
+Ali Shuber he said soul brings out the best of him not every feature damn
Sam Smith he also said kendrick outperforms everyone, which is not true.. people treatin kendrick like a god for some reason, he has so many other people matchin him right now its crazy
+Ali Shuber was Kendrick really spitting on money tree? That's a reach if you really wanna call that getting bodied lmao
They could be the greatest duo of all time with just one album 😭
Man !!! 🎯🔥
They bring the best out of each other.
Just imagine 👁️🗨️ it truly would
They ARE
11yrs later and I’m still bumping this, such a classic track
ill NEVER forget this song.
frfr i see through your true colors like stained glass
Timeless
Been listening to this track since 2011 and I still get surprised at how good these bars are
"I follow no ruler even if Im under drastic measure" -SOUL..... goddamn haha
Dat wordplay doe
+walid amin but whateva
I've been listening to this song for years and never caught that
me neither.. lol He's the only rapper that I've ever listened to where I catch lines like months and years after my first listen..
G Weekes I spit like sit the tip of my dick on ice and that's intense imagine if I already came twice......damn
This is one of the best tracks I ever heard.
Facts bro! It's like each verse gets better throughout the song
William Craig EVA EVA BRUV
William Craig you need to listen to more artists; all analogies, little content.
I would say the same if it was just Kendrick the other guy is garbage.
On god!
Man the nostalgia from back when I was a teen entering adulthood listening to this..
"my back teeth have never been in agony but i've got Wisdom" BAR !!!!
TIME STAMP?
@@TariqAmazin 1:56-2:04
Absolute bar
Damn I ain't heard this joint in almost 10 years, brings back high school memories...
"They say that pressure bursts pipes, but I ain't never had to deal with plumbing in my life"... now that's a BAR!!
Thank Goodness someone gets that!
@@cebolakhentuli2586 one of my favorite bars ever. This shit went over everyone’s head.

@@wholesomet3930 that one and also "bad teeth, never been in agony but I got wisdom" KENDRICK
soul and kendrick are a deadly combo
Dude seriously it's not even a joke..if they both made a mixtape i think that would be it for hiphop lol Ab-Soul and Lupe should make a mixtape too based on that song "Horns & Thorns"
+kobron1559 soul and lupe would be nuuts
+kobron1559 That song was sick! I hated the instrumental though. but Soul and Lupe definitely spit flames on that track
It has already happened my friend
mortal
A decade & 2 cars later this joint still hottttttt🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Gold Soul Toker lmfao high times!
Gold Soul Toker Lool that is jokes
Him and Kendrick #1. Then everyone else.
I would like the comment, but I don't wanna fuck up the 47 likes on it ;)
you can feel how this was the early days of black hippy, they were just flexing bars rapping their asses off
miss tracks like this
to be honest i dont like current day black hippy. i miss the raw skills like this song
Yea for real bro.. this song has been ringing in my ears for a while now.. had to come listen.. hope you good in the midst of all the chaos
Well never hear kendrick like this again but this is wat soul does fairly often no?
💯
I effing miss it!
Need a rapper shit part 2
The Child actor never stood a chance
One of my favorite of Ab-Soul and Kendrick. Listen to them go bar for bar
They had the best chemistry rapping together. They should’ve put out way more songs.
I don’t care what anyone says, TDE in the early days were all about lyrical ability and that is what made them everlasting. You can see how much they want to be the best with every bar, it comes with emotion. I like young money but man when I smoked and listened to ab soul, kdot, Q and Jay rock I was there listening to every bar ‘ so fire 🔥
Ab soul really sets the tone for this masterpiece with that first line.
Ah someone of culture
The precision of the verses , are a samurai swords
They only know Not Like Us,
been rocking with Kendrick since the beginning...
Feels good to know we recognized a generational talent from the jump.
this song has SOOO many punch lines, its almost impossible to pick which 1 you want to quote. every line they drop BOMBS. this isnt a song, its a display of pure lyrical talent and charisma on the top level.
"This ain't a construction site but you know the drill"-Ab-Soul
that was a simple line
@@iafigueroa91 facts soul get way deeper
@@iafigueroa91it is but his wordplay is so smooth
On the real/rail
@@iafigueroa91lmao chose the weakest bar in the whole song
These are some of the nicest bars I've ever heard!
Drake shouldn't have gone against this dude.
imagine if he went against ab-soul
@@tshianelomatshomo4271 I feel like dot & soul are twins man
That would have ended him lmao..soul is not to be touched ❤

The metaphors and double enrrendres are CRAAAZY!!! THIS TUNE STILL HITS DIFFERENT !!
Ab snapped on that first verse . 🤧
This will forever be me and my bro's song.
We know this shit word for word, bar for bar haha
Tommy black was ahead of his time with this beat
I've never heard two people go back to back and destroy a song the way these two dudes killed this one. "I follow no RULER, even if I'm under drastic MEASURE.." WOW.
Shaune Harvey mustve never heard jadakiss and styles p go back and forth
They say 'Pressure bust pipes, and I ain't never had to deal with plumbing in my life '. Mind the 'And that's a BAR'.
@@joeyhiii6326 all respect to Jada and Ghost but even THEY couldn't fuck with this Duo.
This one of my favorite tracks ever
I still think this is the most slept on song of all time. Been listening to this one for about 4 years now

"With my back against the wall i can see y'all fronting" this was different time period
This song is one of the TOP 5 non commercial songs Soul & Dot made that let me know, I'm apart of their musical journey and family. LEGENDARY TRACK
Bra imagine if Kendrick and soul became a duo and been putting out music together the last 10 years. This and turn me up are perfect songs

I Could Only Imagine
Holy.
Shit.
Too many bars the song would just turn into a prison
One of the most slept on songs ever
Still one of the greatest songs i ever heard ,2024
Still listening. One of the best lyrical exercises in rap. Neither of them were lacking. Steel sharpens steel. 🔥⚔️
The beef brought me back to this. Drake thought he could compete with THIS?!!
Exactly. Comparing the two is just unnecessary. The greatness of one has no effect on the greatness of the other.
Just the fact u gotta say this is sad.
Doesn't mean they can't be compared for what one does better than the other tho. Comparison doesn't have to be a derogatory thing just cause you see who does what better. If we're all special in our on way, comparing is just to highlight what makes each special. It isn't necessary, doesn't mean it can't be or shouldn't be done for the analytic who keeps up with attributes for fun, like myself
FACTS!
Yall witnessed the beef right?
Anyone here after the OvHoe beef??
Oh my god bro. This, Illuminate, and Turn Me Up. 3 million plays each by myself during high school.
Bro those 3 are the ones!
God I wish they performed one of these at the Pop Out
"Asking for 50 CENT from MANY MEN"
That bar went over many people's head lol
Wrrd lol I caught that shit first time I heard it
+Stewie Stifler That shit was basic as fuck
+Jeremiah Box honestly though you deserve these people coming at you, one of Soul's simplest lines to comprehend
+Walter Phosa Nope pretty sure you couldn't come up with that Quadruple Entendre
if it did those people are fuckin' retarded
Kendrick Lamar has said that Soul is the greatest rapper alive, that definitely says a lot. It really comes down to a matter of opinion. Personally, I feel like soulo's lyrics are much more pure, but kendrick's delivery is much stonger.
Couldn't have said it any better
Spot on
You nailed it on the money... Thats exactly what it is
Accurate
This is sooo freaking true !!!!
Can we just be happy that we were blessed with such talent? Ab-Soul and Kendrick both put faith back in hip hop and encouraged people to focus on the flow and the story that Hip-Hop was created for. I don't prefer either over the other, I just feel lucky that I can listen to both of them.
Masters
Bless the Lord I came across this track. Ab and Kdot going toe to toe 😭😭😭
"They say pressure bust pipes ...
And I ain't never had to deal with plimbing in my life "...
Now that's a bar !!!
Kdot is INCREDIBLE
"I'm a real master, real massive, you're just real average. I see your chain is strange, they wore those in the middle passage."
a very deep , and sad bar
2024 this shit still 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wooopwoop
These two together is too much
It’s 2020 now & looking back when I used to bump this over & over...fuuuck this track still bangs. Bars on bars on bars!!! You can hear the hunger in Soulo & Dot!
I love how communal this track has made everyone listening to it become. This track is so nostalgic, just purely for the insane combo between these two. Soul and Dot are surely pushing each other for the best on the track and it shows on the response we all give. Legendary track.
Still slappin this in 2020!!!
What a time to be alive 🥶
Kendrick has reignited a sleeping giant .
One of the greatest duos in the history of MAN, the ancient Babylons would be proud 🙏🏻🙌🏻💯
This takes me back to high school gone are those days
I see through your true colors like stain glass 😤😤😤 2024 still favorite black hippy track
“But my mind is like a wizard, I define the laws of gravity every time I get high and write a sentence. Back teeth never been in agony but I have wisdom” gah damn 😮💨
Still listening to this and I heard it back in middle school. Ab is one of the greatest MC’s
Soul killed both his verses 😭 untouchable
I always find my way back here, this shit is amazing
"clear the set, i got now , i got next/

I read this just as he said it
"More ironic than a bum asking for 50 Cent from Many Men." 😳🔥👌🏼

the nostalgia is crazy right now
2k19 n I still gotta bless my ears wit this one 😎
this track is pretty tough. Id love to hear a ab-soul/kendrick lamar album. def the 2 best out the group. Schoolboy and Jay Rock are dope too, but these 2 are on another level
its open to debate. cant go wrong either way. I personally think Ab-Soul is lyrically the illest right now. every bar is super sharp
dlov60 agree with david, bar by bar Ab and K dot are possible equal. Jay and School have occasional bars.
Personally, Jay Rock is my favorite, but I do agree Ab Soul has the deepest lyrics
Still a classic to this day 👌

They really don't rap like this no more, back to back, raw bars, you can tell it was one take
Real talk .. they were hungry! The industry is tricky
i come back to this track time and time again... never gets old
Ab soul was Kendrick’s biggest influence around this era and section 80
Kendrick doesn’t become Kendrick without ab soul. He made Kdot raise his game forsure
Hip Hop needs this era back❗
“That was like 95 now it’s 20 10 two years from when they said the world is gonna end” 🔥🔥🔥 can’t believe this dropped over a decade ago
Ab soul wordplay makes you laugh, because it's so Damn good.
"You spend more time boasting about what you do then you do, so by the time ya shit is do its doo-doo." Always with the witty word play. Tree of Life is still one of my favorite songs because of the end of the song when he was doing the Soul alliterations. Soul Brother number two, soon to be Soul Brother number one.
"(Soul)ar power, (soul)ar system, told you so. You was a compartment in your car you couldn't Con(soul)."
