And looking at the threads on one end, I wonder if you could make it shorter to fit in tight places, then be able to extend it if you need more torque by using a second pipe and female to female coupling.
@@jlsetnuper Granted the pipe and threads might not be able to handle a lot of bending. Could just use another pipe, smaller or larger, to stick in or over this pipe as an extension.
That's a really good idea actually. Doesn't even need to be a larger pipe. Just one that fits into the existing one or one that fits over top the existing one. I like the way you think.
But can you fit the open end of the wrench at the top, so you can use the closed end at the bottom? That's what would make this tool better than a cheater pipe...
If you had to put extra pressure on the pipe to open a stubborn bolt it will bend the cut sections of the pipe. A better solution is to weld two short lengths of angle to the pipe to hold the spanner also you be using the ring end with an extension not the open end.
Good job. That took some effort. I admire your grit , completing with a polished finish. Feel good every time you need it.
