Kelly, love, love your watercolors and your speed videos. One suggestion - please show the reference photo from which you are painting, while you are painting if possible, so we can learn how you interpret what you see. Thanks so much for your encouragement and sharing.
Well done Kelly, your instruction on painting cloth with designs helped with a couple small projects. In your video I understand you will be moving to the north eastern part of Missouri. Welcome to my part of the world as I am in the middle of the state in a small town called Auxvasse, pronounce (Ah-vasse). I took up watercolor late in life and having some success in selling my work to the locals. I think they get a kick out of making a fuss over my work because I am going into my seventies. Looking forward to seeing more of your work and instructions.
I'm so impressed with how you paint and even if I could never be as good, I still learn from watching...and how you describe why you do what you do. I love watching a painting take form through your talented hands. I also found you via Emily, and the thought of two sisters both working with what they are passionate about makes me truly happy. I'm an early retired NICU nurse turned author (writing on my 14th novel) so I can truly relate. When it comes to art, I mainly do digital stuff, but also indulge in shabby chic craft, a new passion of mine. Thanks again, Kelly! I'm sure your new neighbors will love this!
You've really helped me to know my colors better. For whatever reason I really struggle with the color wheel and making the colors just right. This helps me to see and think more critically about colors & all their variety. Thank you!
Your videos are beautiful, and I've learned a lot from them. The color wheel one and the ones about common mistakes in watercolor were the most useful! Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
I love the part from the viewer's perspective where you can't really tell what's going on, and then at some random point your brain recognizes the image and you think, "HOLY CRAP, that looks AWESOME!" I really enjoy your videos. :)
This is a beautiful painting. I was inspired to paint my cat, Moe, after watching you paint your Bunny. That was an amazing painting too. I needed watch someone painting drapery so that I could add a blanket in my painting. I hope I can take what I learned from you here to paint the blanket the cat is sitting on. Fortunately, my blanket is a solid color so it won't be as complicated as this! Incidentally, I live in SW Missouri.
Thank you, Malte! I've painted like this for a long, long time, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. It's all about having love for what you do!
Thanks, Pam! It takes a couple of days to make videos, so I can only do one a week, TOPS. Usually it's every couple of weeks. So you can give yourself a break for a little while if you like! :)
Thanks, Amanda! I'm lucky that what I do for a living is kind of entertaining to others (especially if it's sped up--I don't think anyone wants to see this at regular speed)! Glad you found my videos.
Art Food Kitty - Kelly Eddington id watch it at regular speed! But I dont think many other people would. I draw and paint myself and it takes hours and hours. Which is definitely alright with me.
Oh my goodness I can not believe you made this video! about two month ago i did this exact thing! i did drawings and paintings of the american flag in all different sorts of positions, i am British but i love america hence why i choose the american flag ! I really love this video! Thankyou for posting it!
This is completely stunning. I have a question, I know pretty much every 'Opera' on watercolors is not lightfast because of the fluorescent dye but I see it is a color you use in a lot of your pieces so isn't lightfastness a concern of yours being a professional artist? Or do you find Opera not to be as fugitive
I just loved watching this. You are certainly talented and I always learn from your work. Your voice is so easy and clear. It makes these videos a very pleasant experience. (Says the girl with the thick southern drawl )
i would have been soooo upset if those blue spots had ended up on my stars! (if i had ever painted a flag) haha i really enjoy your videos. i hope i can be as good as you are at watercolors some day - i know, what a childish thing to say, but i do mean it!
wow! This is exquisite work! I wish i was your new neighbour! My home is a complete patriotic theme with the Flag and the Statue of Liberty pretty much every where! That painting would fit right in!
Absolutely inspiring on many different levels. My son will soon be retiring from the Army and I think he would love a print of this.
You are the most talented artist that I've ever observed!!! I'm an amateur but I love art! Stunning work

Thanks, and wow, *14th novel!* That's quite an accomplishment. Reading is one of life's joys, so thank you for creating things for people to love.

Great Painting, very inspirational! As a veteran I find your interpretation of the flag thoughtful and well executed. Thank you for sharing.
You've really helped me to know my colors better. For whatever reason I really struggle with the color wheel and making the colors just right. This helps me to see and think more critically about colors & all their variety. Thank you!
You did a wonderful job on the American Flag. Thank you first being so careful and respectful.
I enjoy all of your videos but this was just beautiful.
Love how it looks great as soon as you put the red on! And then it keeps getting better!
Amazing! The most beautiful painting of the American flag I have ever seen. You did such an honor to the flag! I hope your friends love it!
Aww, thank you! I'm glad I did it this way instead of flat, because flat would have been 100% harder.
Such a beautiful painting of an iconic symbol of our country! Love it!
Thanks, Kimberly! :)
This is the most gorgeous painting I have ever seen! Amazing!
Gorgeous! I love it! Thanks for sharing! I am sure your neighbors will love this beautiful gift!
