JHS always makes quality pedals and they're pretty affordable. For these 1 transistor fuzz pedals you generally "want them" at the start of the signal chain. The circuitry is so simple that you may find the sound to be thinner if put after other pedals. I do it intentionally for some tones but it's worth to keep in mind.
As someone who is big into fuzz I gotta say that the moment you start to really truly enjoy fuzz is when you start messing around with the volume knob on the guitar. Pretty much all the fuzzes I've played sound great clearing up, this one included. So mess around with gain and guitar volume knob combinations when you find the time.

I love 4 transistor type fuzzes, the big muff is one of them but I'm honestly just not a big fan of big muff myself either. There's so many godt damn versions of it so I'm sure there is one I'd like but there are also so many amazing 4 transistor fuzzes on the market right now. If you ever feel like giving 4 transistor fuzz a try have a look at KMA Cheif Disruptor, it's my favorite fuzz by far at the moment. It has a lot of options but it's it in no way overwhelming to handle or hard to understand if that's a worry. It has 3 different gain modes with very different sound profiles from soft to punchy to heavy. Bass and treble eq and a moveable cut/boost mid eq band that you can toggle on with a separate button. You have a dry signal blend to help clarity with high gain. The gain knob itself has a really wide range too. I've used this pedal making ambient music even. It's a boutique quality pedal at a shockingly affordable price compared to other boutique brands.
You may also enjoy tone bender style fuzzes so that's worth having a look at too.

Cant beat the sound for the price to be honest, but when can we hear some "Foxy Lady"??
WayHuge Stone Burner Fuzz Pedal for me but I personally love white aesthetics! Might have to give this one a hand on feel.
Would also love to hear you talk about some songs that incorporate fuzz for those out there who may not be all too familiar with the sound, great video nonetheless!

This is definitely that "foxy lady" type of tone. Thanks for the insightful comment, as always!

Big Muff NYC for me. Been on my board for 10 years. Took about 9 years to tame it 😂
I do like the sound of this though 😊

Two-transistor fuzzes are much easier to tame than the ol' muff

That's why I had to give the muff the boot!

whats causing the high pitch tone. its the pedal causing that high frequency noise?

It's a fuzz so it's a bit noisy when you turn it on through a cranked amp!

There’re lots of better fuzz pedals and I don’t like JHS, well, I’ve tried some but I didn’t like them, very mediocre

Give this one a shot. It's inexpensive and sounds great!

Whats a fuzz you would recommend over jhs's?
