I just got the 2019 a few days ago. My friend called me after I drove off because they said it looked like my back lights weren't on, now I know why, their non operational. Why does Honda put that part in their if its non operational? @California Phantom

@@danielle_monique16 there would be no reason for someone to be pulled over because of this. You still have a light showing that youre breaking and the 3rd brake light. I also had no idea about the tail lights until reading about it little over a year ago - thenI noticed subconsciously its actually quite common from other other makes/models to only have partially illuminated tail lights. Next time youre out take a look, youll see quite a few cars with a half tail light Luckily this is something that be swapped for those us that want the full light.

Here in Canada my ex-l accord came with a heated steering wheel, chrome door handles, heated rear seats, vents in the rear as well as two usp chargers back there. It also has the NFC feature for Samsung devices. And of course the touring brake lights in the rear! Doesn’t make sense why they cut so much out of the US accord.. it’s bullshit to be honest.
I’m super impressed you went ahead and installed these instead of the after market ones. I can’t believe how much better the brake lights look when applied afterwards. Good job
Chrome door handles are no bonus. Chrome anything is no bonus. I want to replace my chrome front-end trim...it wrecks the otherwise beautiful pure black of my car. But I see and agree with your point. I wonder why they don't withhold all that same stuff in the Great White North.
Thanks a lot for this video. Idk why Honda didn’t include that on all the trims. Or at least the 2.0 sport and 2.0 exl. Just to make them at least special than the 1.5. Small things like that piss me off. And things like no lights on the doors. My 2009 accord lx used to have small puddle lights on the doors. My 2018 2.0 sport doesn’t.
It’s as much safety as looks. I get they have to sell certain things with each model but leaving out functioning tail lights on certain trim is really petty.
Because I had it professionally done and they wouldn’t allow me to film it for liability reasons. I believe I pinned a video of someone who did film that part, but it’s not really hard. It’s just a 1-2 hr time investment. On my year the main plug in connects in the trunk and gets fished up to the lid and down the along the inside trunk and out the bumper.
I have a 2018 touring 2.0T and my upper deck lights don't light up like that I'm confused 🤔 just watched another video on it I didn't realize you have to hit the brake for them to light up it would be a lot cooler if it was constantly lit like that and got redder as you braked.
True. But you can imagine on the non touring models the full top doesn’t even light up; it’s an OCD nightmare. Most of the break light doesn’t function until you don’t is mod. If your touring on up your good.
@@CaliforniaPhantom yeah I never realized it I definitely would have been irritated if my entire break light didn't light up like on the lower trim levels just makes no sense not to use the entire break light but I guess it adds more of that luxury feel to the touring lmao my high ass last night driving around the HEB parking lot trying to see my brake lights in the glass of the building like damn I hope I don't have a fake touring from factory 🤣🤣🤣
I always meant to check if that light lit up on my 2019 its a sport so I guess that answers that. Any way to make it show the MPH in the digital form ? I brought that piece of crap right back and the dealer straight up pretended to give half a shit then acquiesced that it aint happening oh well ! !
Sucks for anyone who found this video late and wants to do this today (like me) as those inner tails are now going for $250. So basically you have to really not like any of the aftermarket options since some of them cost the same or slightly more.
Thanks for your video, I would rather have the touring lights because I don't like copies of other vehicles accessories, is back up light LED on touring lights install?
How did black out the "ACCORD" letters on the back of your car... ive chrome delete everything on my 19 touring.. i do not want to do plasti dip.. i want more of a permanent fix
Great video..I have a 21 sport 2.0. correct me if I'm wrong but I only need the inner tailights? Also the upper corner outside tailights will light up because of the 4 pin not the 2 pin dummy ports? So outer tailights upper corner already equipped for lighting up once the touring harness is connected ?
@@AG-yv8yb well said; it sets off my OCD like crazy. How you going to have 2/3 the tail light not even work. I get differences between model numbers but it’s not like 2.0 sport is lowest trim or anything. Like that a weird thing to omit.
@@CaliforniaPhantom when you mentioned ocd and OEM in your video right then I could definitely relate. I have my car like a OEM plus edition accord. Great video thumbs up .
I don’t install the harness, just the lights. I was paranoid about installing a wiring harness so I took it to a local shop willing to install it. That being said, I pinned the comment of the individual that replaced the wiring harness.
Indie.genius they were plasti-dip sprayed. I should have made a video, but they’re a ton of videos on TH-cam on how to do it. Just use a toothpick and some masking tape and a can of black plasti-dip is all you need. You don’t need to remove emblems in order to do it.
Indie.genius I’m not sure I follow what you mean by “black tail pieces on tail light”. Are you referring to the inside part of the light where it mounts to the car itself? If so then yes.
I was about to order the after market tail lights this Friday but I'm so glad I found your video 👍 looks dope and cheaper plus I been hearing that some of the after market lights get water inside 🤔 thanks for the video bro👍👍
The link to tail lights and to the wiring harness are in the description of the video. You would need to replace the wiring harness that plugs in inside the left hand side of the trunk. I pinned a comment of another TH-camr who replaced the harness manually. To my knowledge this is the only video on replacing the wiring harness, but I can assure you it’s as easy as what I did in this video. Everything is plug and play.
Great video but you had me bro when you said, "We dont need these, we do mods, we go hard here!" Referring to the included bulbs vs you "going hard" with the led bulbs!
I’m giving an alert for any hybrid owners. You should be aware that you need the hybrid Touring Rear Harness; besides, the parts number differs between 2018-2019 and 2020 year models although they look identical. I personally bought a 2018-2019 Hybrid Touring Rear Harness for my 2020 Hybrid EX-L. It worked for everything but UNABLE to power the EVAP system. An emission system problem light came on, and I believe it is caused by some rearranged pins in the harness. Now I am giving another try for the 2020 Hybrid Touring Rear Harness. Will post result soon.
There is no guarantee they aren’t OEM. I don’t like aftermarket lights because of the looks & reliability. I’m quite happy with these OEM style tail lights.
@@CaliforniaPhantom most likely they aren't true oem lights, maybe oem like if anything. I remember wanting to do this several months ago and parts alone was around $400. Just for two additional strip of lights, no thanks. It went to the bottom of my mod list as you could do a lot more to your car for that kinda money ie lowering it.
Hang Nguyen hey to each is to own. Some people put performance mods as a preference; I myself don’t want to void any extended warranties that I have purchased as a result I can’t put any parts in the engine or lowering kits for 7 years. Lowering voids rim warranty for me, so I totally get it. But I get a lot of compliments with the simple stuff I have done, and plan on doing plenty more. I’ve had a number of Accord owners actually stop and ask me about the lights cause they want to know why there’s don’t work, but mine does. But $350 is in my mind the same cost as aftermarket kit replacement, I just like that OEM look better.
Thank you for this video. I have a 2022 Accord Hybrid where only the the small outboard LED brake light lights up. I also will modify the the trunk mounted section of the taillight so that it lights up at night too when braking 😁
@@CaliforniaPhantom you would think Honda could just make it a default feature given than it also adds increased safety letting other drivers know the vehicle is braking right? 🙄 I’ll never understand some of the design decisions automotive design teams make.
@@MrJmagana88 10000% should have made it standard. Super petty if you ask me given that it’s for safety. 2/3 of light don’t even light up without this mod, so it’s a horrible short coming on Honda
Did you watch the video? It takes OEM touring wiring harness that you have to plug in; begins inside the trunk in the left side and you feed it to replace your original. It is because the wires that lead to the trunk light only function for the reverse, the actual break light doesn’t have a functioning wire on non-touring models. So to summarize you need to get 2018 touring wiring harness and the light assembly itself (for trunk only). Links are in the description and I checked and are working.
Just asking because the harness that i bought has 3 wires just like you said it should have in the video but the taillights on the link of your video has 4 pins in the back so just a little confused.
@@unheardhugo Sorry bro I wish I knew your specific problem; what you describe doesn’t make a lot of sense as it should be 4 wires not 3. Unless some how I am mistaken, this video is pretty old and I no longer even own this vehicle, but rest assured if you want purchased the harness from the link in the description then it should work.
@@unheardhugo the more I think about it the more I think your right. I think it’s 3 wires, but 4 teeth in the connector. I think OEM non-touring has 2-or-3 teeth and the touring has 4 teeth inside the connector. Again it’s been a long time since I did this video, but I’m very confident you got the right setup.
Unfortunately I had it professionally installed. I saw them do it and it involves removing the bumper (not completely) - just sort of loosening the top 2 bolts and gaining access. It’s just plug and play really. I just wanted professional do that part.
Do you know if the if the light on the bottom of the inner light is a separate bulb? All my other lights are working fine but the bottom bulb is going out.
@@CaliforniaPhantom i want to convert the license plate light to the touring one with the button so you can just press the button also to open the trunk also
Not sure what you mean on that. Trunk open button is on the door and on the FOB so not sure why you’d need to do that. And I’m not sure of a difference with license plate light of touring model; they should both be LED and automatically controlled.
I had sport 2.0 harness. Touring harness allows touring tail lights to be installed; illuminating the entire tail light. That’s what I did and what Honda did to short everyone who didn’t buy the touring model.
Thanks a lot for making this video. One simple question if you don't mind, how many harness do wee need to buy? When we click the link you provided, we should chose 2 items of harness or one item that comes for right and left rear light? I truly need your answer at your convenience time.
Lawrence Ngo Permormix was the brand. Exports to thing is the process. Not too thick; just nice light coats, but at least 4-5 coats. Toothpick around the emblem when removing excess - and it will come out awesome.
Hey what do you mean by phase 1 of installation? And having it professional done? Was it plug and play or did you have to take it to Honda so they could re wire everything? If so how much does phase 2 run you up? Thanks
Phase 1 was me installing physical lights themselves. There is a rear wiring harness for touring that I have included in description that is “phase 2” which I had professionally installed. Someone from another channel installed wiring harness as it’s easy enough to do, but I wanted to pay the extra to leave it to professionals. Honda will not do it, you have to take it to an automotive electrician. It’s fairly inexpensive and straight forward either way.
Do the lights stay illuminated with the c shape when you’re not stepping on the breaks or only when you’re stepping on the brakes ? Trying to do this on my 1.5
How it works is this. When the headlights are on the bottom and side of the C lights up. With your 1.5 the top small bit in the corner gets illuminated when you press the tail light. For touring models and above, the top of the C on the trunk illuminates when you press the brake. So what I did with this build/video was replaced the the 1.5 / 2.0 harness with the touring harness and replaced the trunk light so the top fully illuminates. If you watch the video it fully explains everything.
Hi, Thank you for your detailed install video. Really nice outcome 👌. Question, do I need to order the wire harness separately as I order the tail light? Is that a must for the install? I appreciate your insight.
Yes the wiring harness is required for the install. The wiring harness ordering is in the description; it’s where I ordered mine. You can find it anywhere else if you’d like, I don’t make any commission. I went the easy route and had a car shop install the harness and I did the tail lights myself.
It only comes on when you press the breaks. You have to have proper Touring wiring harness and light; all of this is covered in the video and links in the description
Hi, do you think buying the inner rear tailights from eBay is better than buying it from honda parts direct or they are pretty much the same? Thank you.
Important question.... they are identical to OEM and 1/2 the cost. I briefly mention that its twice as much if ordering direct from Honda and I couldn’t tell the difference.
I see. I’m just kind of skeptical at first about the light matching of outer and inner rear tailights since the outer is the oem ones but I’ll take your word for that. Thank you so much for responding and for your opinion. Keep up your great videos man. 👍
Yes and no. Shop that did mine only pulled the 2 bolts on top and was able to move it enough to access the wire assembly connection on the left side of the car, inside the bumper area. I don’t believe it needs to be completely removed. It is however easy either way.
I friend of mine in another state removed their bumper. I saw in a pic that exact wiring assembly revmode was talking about. Well I dont even have that on my car, possibly something only on the 2.0. For easy access though Id say prob just take it off, its not that much work removing it. Im attempting this tail light install myself this weekend, possibly a video im not sure but I will report back if the bumper is needed to be removed.
kicks2024 you do, it’s just tucked behind; there’s no difference in the wiring harness. Look up both part numbers, the regular 1.5 and the touring and you’ll see the diagrams are identical for it. Only difference is the number of wires entering that same connector is more. I cover it within this video.
@@CaliforniaPhantom check out these 2 pics from car. I dont have that wiring unless its hidden somewhere. i.imgur.com/DEq7R39.jpg i.imgur.com/AmvGnex.jpg I bought the wire harness needed for the lights though. Wish i would have found them where you did for cheaper.
@@kicks2024 I was thinking of doing this mod on my 1.5 too so are we able to do this or is this just a 2.0 thing? Why is there a missing harness or so in your pics? I'm just a little confused. I recently got some newer aftermarket taillights as I didn't like the first one that was out there. It should be coming next week. I do like the touring lights and might do this as well in the future. All I remember was that it was going to cost around $400 for all oem parts just for an extra strip of led lights. This isn't including labor as well but then again I was planning to do this myself anyways. Please let us know how this goes. Thanks!
I just did my retrofit. Any issues with the non oem taillights so far? BTW....it took a bit to run the wiring harness but got it one. Hardest part was removing the old one (clips).
I totally agree. I must noticed the other day the difference in the 2 cars and I will be purchasing three upgrade. Like u...I'm ocd about the whole light working. 😀
Very much likes your video. I also would like to change my taillight for my 2019 Honda Accord sport. Can you recommend any shop that does professional installation here in Los Angeles Ca. Would really appreciate
Any shop that does electrical should be able to handle a simple wiring harness. The harness itself plugs into the trunk under the carpet on the left side of trunk and is fed out. It’s more time consuming than “difficult”. I had it done because I didn’t want the liability, but definitely any shop that handles electrical should be able to do it easy.
I really hate that they didn't include that on all the trims, it makes no sense to me, for the longest time I saw Tourings on the road and wondered what was different, once I noticed I kept looking to see if it was on all of them, then realized I wanted it on my 2018 EXL
I have an Accord 2.0t Touring, I was thinking of changing my trunk deck brake lights to rear fog lights. So i would still have the 4 brake lights, but i want to install a separate switch to turn those brake lights on as rear fogs. Think that would be possible?
It says 2018-2020 Honda Accord on some and other day 2018-2021. I’d actually call Honda themselves and ask them if touring wiring harness is different for 2021 model vs 2018-2020. If I had to guess I’d say yes, but it wouldn’t hurt to verify before getting the harness.
Looksclassier than the aftermarket ones on the market atm I think i prefer this. The only con is the the top lights are now brighter than the the bottom half so you gotta get better lights for bottom
the brake lights should alway be brighter then the normal running ones, Top ones will only go on when you break at a brighter level to alert driver which is a win situation for safety reasons for me in my honest opinion.
You need touring wiring harness and a set of the inner tail lights on the trunk side. It’s all plug and play, including the wiring harness. Both items can be found in the links in the description.
@@CaliforniaPhantom Hey i'm just gonna hijack this comment. Will this work on my 2018 accord lx model? I know you said this works on all trims, but the site says this wouldn't work and i'm not sure if things have changed because it looks like the cost went down a little too
Truthfully, I have no idea.... but I will say this. The connector that the touring wiring harness will be connecting to to my knowledge is the same main wiring harness to every model. Think of the main harness as a central line. That central line is same in all trims but what separates the trims are the ends of that central line. It’s my rationale for why it should work for your LX as well. Got to get touring wiring harness and plug that in to see if it works.
@@CaliforniaPhantom Thanks man, you're awesome. just a couple more questions: 1. What do you think the estimate cost would be if I also get my wiring professionally done like you did? 2. While we're on the subject, do you know of other features I could snag from other trims? (Like the rearview mirror signal lights, headunit upgrades, prox smart key, etc?) I recently bought a remote start key for my LX, using the EX key fob. someone reprogrammed the key for $30 dollars and it works now lol. I was hoping that maybe other trim features were also "included but disabled", but there isn't really alot of support for the accord like there is for the civic, and noone seems to own the LX so I have noone to ask :(
So I tried doing that with my accord and it did not work. I ordered the same harness that you listed in the video and the same taillights from eBay. I took my car to Honda dealer for the wiring harness to be installed and they said there are no plugs for the light to work. Any suggestions what can I do to make it work or are there different types of harness? Please let me know. I would greatly appreciate that.
Honda wouldn’t even touch mine. I had to take it to a repair shop that says it does electrical. It 100% does work; everything is compatible and does work on the 1.5 sport as well.
California Phantom so Honda took everything out and the technician told me that it’s missing the holes where the wiring suppose to go in. I’ll try to go to my repair shop and see if they guy there can help me install it. Do you know by any chance if it needs any other electrical besides the harness?
It’s because not everything on the harness will plug in, but the parts that control the tail lights themselves is what matters. There maybe sensors or parts of that harness that controls items in the touring package not found on the car, but rest assured you plug in every part of that cable to every part of that light assembly and it will work.
No problem. Good luck on your journey. There’s a guy on here who filmed himself doing the conversion to his 1.5t (if that’s what you have) and he does a good job filming the majority of how you do it if you want to take a peak. It’s a pretty straight forward process.
Thank you for the video. if I want to convert my car like yours then I need to order light package plus wire harness? I noticed that the lights at is $184 something then wire harness for $94. So total cost will be less than $300?
I’m trying to do this to my 2020 accord sport, the link you have that leads to where you purchased it from on eBay says 2018-2019 would it still fit on he 2020 models ?
Everywhere I look when buying 2018/2019 accord tail lights; they list it as 2018,2019,2020 so to answer your question: yes I believe that the tail light on eBay link provided does fit 2020 accord as well.
Do you still have these aftermarket lights on your accord because I was wanting to do the same thing to my LX, but just wanted to make sure they don't have any problems. Any info would help. Thanks
Absolutely. I have them still and they are identical to OEM in every way. I have had zero issues with them and actually get a lot of Accord owners asking me about how my 2.0 has “touring package” lights. Tell them about the mod and send them to my site. It’s a pretty straight forward process.
@@CaliforniaPhantom thanks for responding. If I buy the lights off that site you posted will that place in sacramento install the whole thing because I could just drive my car to them?
@@caseylee0808 well you have to find a place that will install them. If not the location I took them to is in the description, so if you have the wire set and the taillights you pay them a fee to install them and they will if you don’t want to hassle with it and your able to drive to Sacramento Ca.

Really good video bro! Sad to see how this accord doesn't come with touring tail lights. Is the wiring harness hard to install from your online knowledge?
No not hard to install at all. Several people have said it can be done without dropping the bumper. When pro shop did it they loosened the 2 bolts on top of pumper near the trunk lid and was able to get enough room to feed it through that way. It’s maybe a 2 hour complete process from wiring to tail lights.
My sport lights do everything the exact same as the touring. The only difference between the two is built in gps, heads up display, and the passenger front seat is power. Besides some badging and what not, electronics and lighting and all of that is identical.
Just bought a 2019 Accord Sport and didn't realize I was getting into this problem. Would love to do this but am worried about voiding the factory warranty.. thoughts?
Very good question, and all I can say is that everything you do in this can be undone if you keep the parts. The wire harness itself is OEM so you’d only need to swap tail lights back to original if you were concerned with voiding warranty. As far as Honda techs identifying it, there is no chance in hell that they would notice it. I have had it serviced twice and they never said anything.
@@CaliforniaPhantom I really appreciate you responding, and thank you for your insight. So the only replacement parts you'd need are the lights themselves and the wire harness? (I have a part number of 32108-TVC-A00 for the harness. I don't know if you can confirm this or not.) Again thank you for your great video and assistance in this matter!
I agree with Tommy Armour. I had my 2019 Accord serviced at a Honda dealership today and asked the tech if Honda would/could custom-tune my ECU to take into account my Takeda intake and Borla exhaust. He told me (as I'd seen and read elsewhere) that messing with the ECU opens a huge and potentially VERY expensive can o' worms - *and* the ECU phones home and lets Honda know when it's been mucked with...all of which means that'll void your warranty...BUT he said that just replacing the factory intake and exhaust with aftermarket ones should *not* void my warranty. And if putting in an aftermarket intake and an aftermarket exhaust doesn't void your warranty, it's unthinkable that replacing the taillights will.
Just FYI, I contacted the seller that you've listed on ebay and he replied that this DOES NOT fit my 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T!!! He insisted that I don't order the item. That's all.
Because they are made for Touring. The sport wiring harness does not fit this tail light and will not work. This is the entire point of this video friend. You buy the wiring harness and this tail light and you will be upgrading your tail lights to the touring just like this video. They very much work all together

It also has the NFC feature for Samsung devices. And of course the touring brake lights in the rear! Doesn’t make sense why they cut so much out of the US accord.. it’s bullshit to be honest.
I 100% agree... they nickel and dimed the hell out of this car.
I’m super impressed you went ahead and installed these instead of the after market ones. I can’t believe how much better the brake lights look when applied afterwards. Good job
Shabba Ranks I mean they’ve gotta somehow separate the trims from the cheapest and the top end model..
Chrome door handles are no bonus. Chrome anything is no bonus. I want to replace my chrome front-end trim...it wrecks the otherwise beautiful pure black of my car. But I see and agree with your point. I wonder why they don't withhold all that same stuff in the Great White North.
lol I'm jelly. but we got great weather in California 😂
California Phantom I totally agree. Why have an empty place. Just put a bulb lol.
Who needs the aftermarket designed ones when you can just get the Touring ones that look much cooler!
How come you didn't show us how they install the harness step by step?
@@Back_door_bandit_98 😂 🙌🏻
I plasti-dipped it. If you want more permanent than that then you need to hop online and look up black chrome emblems for this car.
Sweet video. Just got an accord sport 1.5 in gray yesterday. Can’t wait to add these to mine!!!
Drives me crazy too. That's why I'm glad you're doing this video. Thanks a million!!👈🏾👌🏾👍🏾👏🏾💯
I appreciate it 🙏 - I knew other out there would want the same thing.
My warranty is already done except for power train. That part isn’t touched from this taillights install is it? 🤔
Hey I have a question? How did you get the accord badge black? Did you use spray paint and if so what kind of spray paint .
I used plasti-dip. 3-5 coats. Rubs off the paint. Use a toothpick to get it around and inside the emblem.
Absolutely. Touring wiring harness and inner tail light is what’s needed
@@CaliforniaPhantom thx looks so much better and can't believe Honda did this..I mean really different taillights
I have the black glint accessory wheels, gloss black emblem, side molding etc .. besides I don't want aftermarket electrical stuff then I'd be wire chasing in a year cause like you said that stuff ain't lasting. Great video thumbs up .
I'm trying to find the part where he installs the harness but I'm not sure if that wasn't included in the video or am I missing it....
I don’t install the harness, just the lights. I was paranoid about installing a wiring harness so I took it to a local shop willing to install it. That being said, I pinned the comment of the individual that replaced the wiring harness.
A much needed video
Thank you 🙏
The top only serve as brakes and the bottom as tail lights they both don't light up unless you're stopped. However it can be done.
Thank you for doing this tutorial. I have been trying to look for one of these tutorials.
Where did you get those black emblems from? Or are they dipped?
Indie.genius they were plasti-dip sprayed. I should have made a video, but they’re a ton of videos on TH-cam on how to do it. Just use a toothpick and some masking tape and a can of black plasti-dip is all you need. You don’t need to remove emblems in order to do it.
Do those black plastic pieces on the new tail light mod come off?
Indie.genius I’m not sure I follow what you mean by “black tail pieces on tail light”. Are you referring to the inside part of the light where it mounts to the car itself? If so then yes.
@@CaliforniaPhantom the black piece on the front of the light at 7:21 when you show the outside of the light.
Indie.genius no those are built into the light body itself, so the replacement lights already have that black piece embedded into the plastic.
I was about to order the after market tail lights this Friday but I'm so glad I found your video 👍 looks dope and cheaper plus I been hearing that some of the after market lights get water inside 🤔 thanks for the video bro👍👍
Thanks for the report; I definitely hear bad things from aftermarket lights having problems, this only confirms it. You will be happy for sure.
Hello my friend if I buy the tai light do you have to make any changes? Can you explain how you did it?
Thanks for the heads up. Honda making it impossible to the simplest of modifications 🤦🏻♂️
@@CaliforniaPhantom thankfully the 2020 Touring hybrid harness does work. But I still blame Honda for making such changes
Instead of making it easier they probably made it harder to do this….. 😡
“I don’t really trust aftermarket lights”..... puts in aftermarket lights
Where can I buy the touring harness ?
Links should still work in the description.
Thank you for this video. I have a 2022 Accord Hybrid where only the the small outboard LED brake light lights up. I also will modify the the trunk mounted section of the taillight so that it lights up at night too when braking 😁
It’s a must. Can’t believe most of the tail light doesn’t light up by default especially when Touring does.
That part only lights up when You hit the brakes?? 🤔
Correct. Honda shafted us
How did you make your stock harness work with the touring lights? Will my 2018 ex harness plug and play with the touring lights?
Did you watch the video? It takes OEM touring wiring harness that you have to plug in; begins inside the trunk in the left side and you feed it to replace your original. It is because the wires that lead to the trunk light only function for the reverse, the actual break light doesn’t have a functioning wire on non-touring models. So to summarize you need to get 2018 touring wiring harness and the light assembly itself (for trunk only). Links are in the description and I checked and are working.
Do you know if your new touring taillights had 3 or 4 pins?
Great job!! By the way, I like the part where you put ”No one cares” 😆
Take care!
Thanks man I really appreciate the feedback. Keeps me motivated.
Finally, someone made a video on this! Great work! Are u gonna have a part 2 where u can show how to replace the wiring harness?
Unfortunately I had it professionally installed. I saw them do it and it involves removing the bumper (not completely) - just sort of loosening the top 2 bolts and gaining access. It’s just plug and play really. I just wanted professional do that part.
California Phantom I totally understand. It looks much better than aftermarket ones.
Did you plasti dip your emblems?
Do you think this would work on the EX trim? Also how do you wire the harness?
Do you know if the if the light on the bottom of the inner light is a separate bulb? All my other lights are working fine but the bottom bulb is going out.
Yes the truck lower light is it’s own bulb. If it’s going out the light itself is defective.
Dose the wire harness just plug in and go?
Yes this is a plug and play unit. No cutting, no splicing needed.
On the touring license plate light it also has a button to open the trunk with out have to drag your keys out of your pocket to open it.
Svt Huber Have u found any thing yet? I'm looking to do the same. I just don't know how many parts need to be replaced.
Wait now I’m confused, some people have to buy/install/connect wire harness too, nothing on yours?
I had sport 2.0 harness. Touring harness allows touring tail lights to be installed; illuminating the entire tail light. That’s what I did and what Honda did to short everyone who didn’t buy the touring model.
California Phantom - thanks for the info! 👍🏽
Where did you get the black emblem and 2.0t Sport letters/numbers? I’ve been looking all over for them
Sprayed em with plasti-dip. TH-cam videos explain process on how to do it. It’s only $5 a can
search for the part number 08F20-TVA-100. its the 'accord' logo in black, OEM. the 'sport' part number is '08F20-TVA-100C'
Thanks a lot for making this video. One simple question if you don't mind, how many harness do wee need to buy? When we click the link you provided, we should chose 2 items of harness or one item that comes for right and left rear light?
I truly need your answer at your convenience time.
Did you just plug and go ,or did you need a special plug or harnest ? When switch the honda sport lights to touring
You need a Honda Touring wiring harness. All the links can be found in the description.
Awesome man! I really like your blacked out emblems. What plastidip did you use?
Lawrence Ngo Permormix was the brand. Exports to thing is the process. Not too thick; just nice light coats, but at least 4-5 coats. Toothpick around the emblem when removing excess - and it will come out awesome.
California Phantom thanks man! can’t wait to try it
Toyota does the same thing with their 18 Camry. The se or sport version has the worst lighting on the taillight's. Pretty stupid and indeed petty.
How are the inner tail lights holding up after 2 years?
100% no complaints. Had a wash video recently a few months ago where you can see lights. No scratches, warping or fading at all. 100% satisfied
Thank you for your reply, I’m about to buy the same set from the same seller you bought it from with insurance also Just to be on the safe side
Hey CA Phantom just wondering if you can give me an update, on how are the lights working since you put them on.
I have a following question regarding your lights did you put in a harness or just unplug and plug back in
I had harness professionally installed and put the lights in myself.
Did you have to change the electrical installation or just the taillights??
How much did it cost? I'm located in San Bernardino..
If you watch the video it fully explains everything.
thank you for this video was looking to do this also and u post how u connect the touring harness? plug and play?
I have a 2018 honda accord LX can i put the touring lights on it?
Yes but you need the wiring harness for it
Who did the wiring for you and how much did it cost? I have a 2018 exl 2.0 with the dummy lights.
I had the wiring harness installed at Prestige Autoworks in Sacramento, ca for about $200. The details, including their website is in the description.
Where can you have it professionally done at ?
Sacramento. Most auto places that do electrical can hook up a simple wiring harness.
How do you get the top part of the big tail light to stay on by itself?
i saw a video from Revmode Motorsports for the same product. He says the rear bumper needs to be removed to install these, is this true??

Did you have to buy the harness separate? Good Work
Yes. Touring harness is what makes it all work and it’s in the description notes on this video. Part number and where I bought it.
I totally agree. I must noticed the other day the difference in the 2 cars and I will be purchasing three upgrade. Like u...I'm ocd about the whole light working. 😀
Honda really dropped the ball on this.
@@CaliforniaPhantom exactly. The touring lights look much better. I also like the jewel headlights better as well.
Looking good man, and thank you for the video!
Any links and prices to the Orem harness or part number? Unless it’s in the video and I missed it
I really hate that they didn't include that on all the trims, it makes no sense to me, for the longest time I saw Tourings on the road and wondered what was different, once I noticed I kept looking to see if it was on all of them, then realized I wanted it on my 2018 EXL
I have an Accord 2.0t Touring, I was thinking of changing my trunk deck brake lights to rear fog lights. So i would still have the 4 brake lights, but i want to install a separate switch to turn those brake lights on as rear fogs. Think that would be possible?
That’s a really odd request. Why would you only want rear tail lights to come on some of the time? I’m sure it’s possible, but it’s highly complex.
I live in a place where rear fog lights are mandatory
Do you know if this will work on a 21 accord?
It says 2018-2020 Honda Accord on some and other day 2018-2021. I’d actually call Honda themselves and ask them if touring wiring harness is different for 2021 model vs 2018-2020. If I had to guess I’d say yes, but it wouldn’t hurt to verify before getting the harness.
@@CaliforniaPhantom your right I'll just ask tomorrow. Thank you
Looksclassier than the aftermarket ones on the market atm I think i prefer this. The only con is the the top lights are now brighter than the the bottom half so you gotta get better lights for bottom
I know that’s what I looks like, but it’s not like that in person. It’s identical to the touring model lights and look perfectly balanced.
the brake lights should alway be brighter then the normal running ones, Top ones will only go on when you break at a brighter level to alert driver which is a win situation for safety reasons for me in my honest opinion.
I’m trying to do this to my 2022 Honda accord hybrid sport. Will it work???
Do we need harness or just plug and play?
You need touring wiring harness and a set of the inner tail lights on the trunk side. It’s all plug and play, including the wiring harness. Both items can be found in the links in the description.
Can you send me the part number to that package that you got from Amazon please
The links to the parts are found in the description of this video...
Will this work with the 1.5 sport?
With the touring wiring harness 100% yes
@@CaliforniaPhantom
Hey i'm just gonna hijack this comment.
@@CaliforniaPhantom
Thanks man, you're awesome. just a couple more questions:
1. What do you think the estimate cost would be if I also get my wiring professionally done like you did?
2. While we're on the subject, do you know of other features I could snag from other trims? (Like the rearview mirror signal lights, headunit upgrades, prox smart key, etc?)
I recently bought a remote start key for my LX, using the EX key fob. someone reprogrammed the key for $30 dollars and it works now lol.
California Phantom sounds good. Thank you so much for the reply.
No problem. Good luck on your journey. There’s a guy on here who filmed himself doing the conversion to his 1.5t (if that’s what you have) and he does a good job filming the majority of how you do it if you want to take a peak. It’s a pretty straight forward process.
Wait did you need to also change harness ???
Yes you need to change the harness to touring model. It’s plug and play.
@@CaliforniaPhantom So what was the total price to change ?
About $350. Less if you do labor yourself.
Thank you for the video. if I want to convert my car like yours then I need to order light package plus wire harness?
I noticed that the lights at is $184 something then wire harness for $94.
So total cost will be less than $300?
Yes. Maybe less if you do all labor by yourself and source the parts better than I did.
California Phantom thank you again appreciate it
Do you still have these aftermarket lights on your accord because I was wanting to do the same thing to my LX, but just wanted to make sure they don't have any problems.
If not the location I took them to is in the description, so if you have the wire set and the taillights you pay them a fee to install them and they will if you don’t want to hassle with it and your able to drive to Sacramento Ca.

looks so much better, i’m looking to do the same thing and i’m in sac too. so you installed the lights but prestige auto did the mount and wiring?
Prestige Autel did the wiring harness. When you buy the harness it comes with all the zip ties and mount clips. My video did the light instillation part of it to save money. Looking back, I could have done the entire thing myself, I just didn’t want to mess with the wiring system - best leave that to the professionals.
So this won’t work on a 2020?
I know it will work on 2018-2019. I can’t confirm, but it doesn’t appear like they made any changes to the wiring harness. I’d confirm if there was any revisions made between 2019 to 2020 and you’ll have your answer.
I'm about to do this myself as it's a much better solution the closer to OEM you can be. The aftermarket housing looks ghetto AF, and doesn't fit the car at all.
Matthew Danese it sure doesn’t and that dancing turn signal oh god 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ people really be ruining the value of Accords when they install that shit
I see that the harness woud require professionals to remove and replace. Would Prestige Auto work for doing that?
SuperWorldFan360 yes they can do the entire job; I just replaced the tail lights in the video to minimize he cost. Prestige Auto in Sacramento CA can do the entire job.
@@CaliforniaPhantom
Is that who did yours?
@@jackflackatari yes they did just the wiring harness.
@@CaliforniaPhantom
I might have them do mine.
Do you remember the tech who did yours ?
@@jackflackatari not in particular; only that they did it. Are they denying it? Female receptionist agreed for them to do it. It really was plug and play so I don’t see why they wouldn’t.
Going to do that to my 1.5T Sport for safety reasons as well as to give her a premium look.
Safety was my number 1 reason.... It looks ridiculous without it and the aftermarket ones just don’t appear to me.
Hey can you do the touring headlights as well please! Video was great !!! Your the only one on TH-cam doing this! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thought about it, but i swapped the low and high beam with LED so it’s too similar to touring to justify the expense.
Ok I get it so do the lights come with the touring wiring harnesses? Or did you have to buy it separately?
J P the wiring harness is separate from touring lights. I provided 2 links: 1 for wiring harness and 1 for the lights. Good luck on it! Looks great and is far more simple than it looks.
You from Canada or different country then USA? I heard many countries have touring lights for all models of Accords.
@@CaliforniaPhantom USA
And it was brand new? Like what year? 2023? Because mine certainly did not. Might of finally listened for the newest year
@@CaliforniaPhantom Brand new 2022
@@07Knightfall gives me hope they corrected the issue.
I don't know if you can confirm this or not.) Again thank you for your great video and assistance in this matter!
there is no way changing your tail light is going to void your warranty especially if you go to a touring tail light.
Do I need wire harness
Yes if you are converting like I did, you will need the touring wiring harness.
@@CaliforniaPhantom I see it all I didn't see at which duration when I play the video when converting the wire harnesses
@@bandartalaqi475 I said during the video that I had that portion professionally done. It’s not terribly difficult if you want to attempt it yourself. There is 1-2 videos floating around that shows you how roughly.
11:30 you have not see me doing mods!!!🤣🤣🤣
Does the color and light output match perfectly? Thanks
It matches to such a high degree that it is indistinguishable from the touring tail lights... it’s that good.
I have a 2022 accord 2.0t can u do that for mine I’m from California as well
When I look up the wiring harness I’m seeing till 2022 so I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to.
@@CaliforniaPhantom it’s the same wiring harness
@@mopar9656 then you should be good to go!
@@CaliforniaPhantom do u have the link for those
@@mopar9656 should be in the description of the video
Nice job and looks good . 😎👊🏻
Pretty sure my lights on my sport 2.0 are identical to the touring model. Maybe the first few years are different.
What year is yours? I know in certain countries like Canada they aren’t as stingy with petty things like this. It sucks, but USA models up to 2020 all are like this. I am unsure of 2021 model
I converted the touring taillights to stay on when I turn on the lights
how
Looks good man
Has anyone had success doing this with the sport harness?
The regular sport harness is missing the required cable to make these lights work. It’s why I had to install the touring wiring harness.
@@CaliforniaPhantom I was wondering if anyone tapped into the 2 existing wires to make them work.
@CaliforniaPhantom I just might give up on that and purchase the harness lol
@@five-bu6hs it’s waaaaay easier and you won’t have to worry about anything. It’s definitely the way to do it right.
I didn’t even know the back light were light that till now 😭 lmao. Now I got OCD
So you still did use aftermarket stuff! I thought that was the point!
brian wheelock honestly I’m not entirely sure it aftermarket. It may just be the company name that sells it, but it’s indistinguishable from OEM and that was the point. No sense in having this wild looking aftermarket lights when A) they don’t look good B) cost the same and converting to touring lights.
