What about someone like Samart who had a super narrow base?

All the narrow stance does is allow for smaller steps and therefore limited movement - but for Samart - he is looking to counter - so he will use the smallest possible step (switch lead leg forward/back , leg evade) to then play defense - lift either leg, check a kick, or knee if opponent is punching
