This is a technicality and more of a point of snobbish opinion than reality. Polyglot means many tongues, multilingual means many languages. They are interchangeable and more often than not, people who call themselves polyglots tend to be rather fraudulent in their claims; only knowing a very slim and rudimentary level of any given language.
