The installation process has changed so much since the robot did a tutorial 6 months ago, to the point that his instructions are no longer helpful. This is an essential update. I just followed the steps and it worked. Hitting 5 and not 4 launches Kohya now and it seems that choosing Torch 2 foregoes the need to install CudNN8.6 and I'm being warned off of it when given the option to install it. Those are the only differences so far. Thank you so much for posting! Liked and subbed.

Very helpful thanks 👍! I see @ 04:35 you have a 3090. I have a 3090 also, and I'm on Windows 10. I just reinstalled kohya_ss after a fresh Win 10 install and the kohya_ss install menu has updated again. I used powershell. The menu (02:48 in your vid) now offers the step to install bitsandbytes-windows. According to the bitsandbytes-windows webpage, there is the additional requirement of CUDA and an Ampere GPU (satisfied by the 3090). I'm wondering if 1) you've installed CUDA; 2) if so do you need to install Visual Studio first; 3) have you tried bitsandbytes-windows? And does the CUDA / MS VisualStudio / bitsandbytes-windows make a difference to the time of the LORA training? Thanks
I have installed CUDA, and you need to have Visual Studio (it's one of the requirements). I havent tried bitsandbytes. It takes me 20 minutes to run a training (however, this depends on the settings you are using, e.g., epochs, batch, steps, etc)

I tried following the tutorial but near the end when launching the gui I get the error 'headless: False' , followed by AttributeError: 'FieldInfo' object has no attribute 'in_' any ideas what it could be? :(

not recommended. you should use GPU, e.g., colab/runpod

Kohya buttons not working on mac. I thought it was because needed the configuration file, then I subscribed for you patreon to download the files but the open button doesn't work at all... I tried some solutions from Reddit but the venv folder doesn't contain the Scripts folder. How do I fix it?
It depends on what Mac you are using - better using google colab to train

Is Python 3.10.9 a dealbreaker? I had installed 3.10.6 for Stable diffusion. New to this so not sure what I should choose.

Seems like you have the wrong version of Python, need to install the right version and try again.
Install Python 3.10.11: www.python.org/ftp/python/3.10.11/python-3.10.11-amd64.exe
During the installation process, ensure that you select the option to add Python to the 'PATH' environment variable.
@@LaCarnevali i had 2 python version installed on my computer including Python 3.10.11, i've removed everything and reinstalled only the Python 3.10.11 and it's working ! Thank a lot
hey, CUDNN 8.6 is giving me a permission error. : permission declined
it works only if you have a NVIDIA 30X0/40X0 GPUs - can this be why?

You are probably in the wrong folder. you can navigate folders using the dir and ls commands

same problem here. I uninstalled the current python (3.10.6) and installed 3.10.9 and restarted the PC and tried it again, didnt work... :(

I had another question. Can't you train a Laura model with Dreambooth itself in Stable Diffusion? What is the difference between them and kohya? If I don't have kohya, is there still a way to make a Lora model?
you probably have a slightly older python version. i hade python 3.6 and tried to download kohya and it gave me a warning that it wasnt recommended. i went with it anyway and it gave me several errors. so i removed kohya, removed python and downloaded python 3.10.9 and it worked with zero errors.

Please do it for terminal as well
The terminal is in the computer. You just need to open the search bar (or windows start) and type terminal (mac) or command (windows)

Your install took 4 minutes. Mine took 88 minutes. I’m not on a potato. What am I doing wrong?
It was my second time installing the same so it took less as I had many requirements already installed. The first time took me 10/15 minutes maybe, or less.

Ugh.. Yet another in a long line of tutorials that don't work and also don't correspond to what I'm seeing. No mention of the other questions it asks during install.
Do I choose No distributed training, multi-cpu, multi-gpu or TPU? Do I want to optimize my script with torch dynamo? Do I want to use Deep Speed? Should I use fp16, bf16, fb8 or none? Do I install bitsandbytes-windows during setup?
