      I don't thinking you'll be disappointed. I've had mine for well over a year now and I love it. It's a great sounding easy playing guitar.

    Great video thanks for sharing mate. I think I’m going to be getting one in the next few days hopefully! I’ve heard that the neck is quite wide and also thick. How did you find the neck to be when playing?

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's got a very nice playing neck. It's a little on the thicker side, but not too thick. I don't have particularly large hands and it's very comfortable.

    Sweet sounding guitar. Yamaha does it right. Nice playing.. but after your 7th chords, play 7th licks instead of major triad scales. Look up dominant 7th chord, or mixolydian licks. You'll fall in love all over again. ;)

      I've never had a lesson or learned any music theory. I'm gonna start really learning how to play though so I can do some gigging when I retire from the PD. Thanks for the advice 🙏

    I tried this last week and the shop. I was floored! Now that you played this guitar for a while now, are you still happy with it? I am debating if the TA version is worth it. I was also looking at the L16

      I still love the guitar. It's a quality guitar even without the bells and whistles. The reverb and chorus always sound great though and add another dimension to the sound.

    I love my LLTA but when I plug it into the Acoustic amp (Acus Simon) I find the sound too synthetic. It's like the strings get stiff. Do you think it's worth investing in a New Pickup? I thought about installing a Fishman. What do you think?

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose if you could keep the Transacoustic actuator and put a better pickup that would be pretty sweet.

    Do you feel that guitar sounds warm or bright? I am wanting to get one but I need warm sound .

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say it tends to be on the bright side, especially with the transducer turned on and light guage strings. This guitar accentuates the mid and treble tones.

    • @badronster
      @badronster 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JimmyRadloff I have the Taylor AD17e black top and it's ovangkol and form
      What I'm reading is brighter than rosewood I
      Don't necessarily have to have it super warm but warmer than my Taylor I'm just a chord guy and learning more all the time but too bright sounds Tinny to me. Any thoughts? I appreciate it. Maybe this guitar and heavier gauge string maybe?

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@badronster medium strings would definitely warm up the tone a bit. It's not overly bright by any means. It has a nice balanced tone. Do you have any place to play one before you buy it? If not, Sweetwater will allow you to return it within 30 days if you don't like it.

    • @badronster
      @badronster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JimmyRadloff I don't have anywhere here but I may just get from sweetwater and if not what I like I can return it. Thanks James appreciate it a lot! She sure is a pretty one that's for sure!

    it seems to me that the treble sounds greater then bass sounds. It Is true?

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no EQ adjustment on the guitar so it could be a little trebly sounding. The treble does ring out a bit when the reverb and chorus are on.

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's made in China, but don't be put off by that. Chinese luthiers have learned a lot from American guitar makers over the years and these guitars are built to last.

    • @tomformanek3312
      @tomformanek3312 ปีที่แล้ว

      The factory quality control is top notch and supervised by Japanese luthiers. These are facts and there are assumptions.

  • @CinemaKev24

    The FX are amazing but when turned off, the tone became anemic lacking a deep bottom end that fingerpickers crave. I chose the Yamaha AC3M instead. No FX but rich woody bass and sparkly highs in an all wood guitar.

    • @JimmyRadloff
      @JimmyRadloff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say this guitar has a more focused midrange and a tighter bottom end that's not too bassy. Probably better choices for finger pickers.

    • @CinemaKev24
      @CinemaKev24 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JimmyRadloff I agree. The FX are great as a strumming guitar, although my right arm fatigued after wrapping around the dreadnought body. For my style, the smaller concert size AC3M was more comfortable and produced a wider tone range, albiet with no FX. Bass notes ring effortlessly - very balanced and not too boomy. I put on 9's and lowed the action and now it's pretty sweet. You can never go wrong with Yamaha.
