Please read the description of the video: 'Handshake techniques are a precursor to the cross wrist techniques, and serve as a means to teaching Hapkido concepts without over-stimulating adrenaline. This allows students to learn the Yu Won Hwa (Soft, Circular, Flowing) concepts, without feeling like they need to power through their techniques. They are meant as a teaching tool for students just learning Hapkido locking. Obviously, their isn't a good reason to hurt someone trying to shake your hand. But, since we shake other's hands every day, these techniques give you a good starting frame of reference for learning.'
We have another channel, which breaks down each of the techniques. Here is a playlist of the full set of techniques. Hopefully this helps: th-cam.com/play/PL8XMBzRByDE12MHV_h1TEwkCGe1dPkD10.html
We are in the process of making a video compendium of techniques from White to Black Belt, then later covering black belt techniques. The videos are quite a bit of work, while still running a dojang, but we have quite a bit of content on our Foundation Hapkido Page: th-cam.com/channels/03_aMzYBDGAkR_2CbxbTFg.html

@@MaximumMartialArts Just now I recalled handshake drills that I did as a kid, years ago and it made me wonder why. I never asked for a reason, nor was I offered an explanation. Your response/vid description made a lot of sense, thanks!
