Scott Wikle interviews Redd Volkaert about his career and years with Merle Haggard and The Strangers as Lead Guitarist Tune in to My Kind Of Country 24/7 www.mkocradio.com
It's funny how some really good guitar players are showy and never let you forget how awesome they are - and then there's Redd, who's just a down-to-earth guy and just so happens to be greater than almost all the rest of them. I love listening to him telling his story, and I love watching him own his guitars.
Great Interview! I really enjoyed this Scott!! I can't believe you got him to talk finally! LOL One of my favorite guitar players of all time.. Red is a rare treasure and I am glad I got to know him and love hearing his work.. I learned a lot from Red over the years.. I even got to room with him for a while on the road (I think I got on his nerves a little..) LOL Great to hear this! Mucho Love and Respect Red!
@@mykindofcountryradio3488 Doing great other than the whole covid thing we are all going through.. Love this interview.. really took me back. It was so cool hearing Red tell his story! I am so glad he didn't bring up the (Dewalt/Walkman lid) incident. ;) Cheers Brother Scott!
My brother got a chance to get a personal guitar lesson from Red 3-4 years ago in Green Bay. He said he was a guitar God and a incredibly nice man. So nice to hear that people of his caliber are still real! Thanks Red!! Keep crankin'
