Edit: super junior and seventeen are actually pretty close and big fans of each other. Since both groups debuted with 13 members. There’s actually compilations on TH-cam of both groups talking about each other or members appearing together on shows and stuff. Although most groups in Kpop really look up to super junior and hold them in high esteem.

Today is my first anniversary with SJ and of hearing Sorry Sorry! Soon into my kdrama journey, I watched She was Pretty for Park Seo-joon, then found the second lead was stealing the show. Google told me his name was Choi Siwon and that he was a part of a group named Super Junior. Three songs later (Sorry Sorry, Mango and Mr Simple) I fell into a rabbit hole I never want to leave!
I am enjoying your SJ discovery. For some reason, I had just been thinking that I hope you watch Sorry Sorry before you watch Sorry Sorry Answer and here you are! I'm probably wrong and who am I to comment, as opposed to long time ELF & even wikipedia, but Answer doesn't feel like a version to me; they feel like two different songs, with some crossover. Sorry Sorry is "I've seen you - I'm mesmerized" while Sorry Sorry Answer is "Now we're together - I'm mesmerized". Regardless, the two songs again show different facets of SuJu's brilliance, as idols, as fun and funky and as powerhouse vocalists, so I'm looking forward to your Sorry Sorry Answer reaction.

And in the meantime, your comment about Siwon as visual center reminded me of one of my favourite stages. He always is for me! But I read somewhere he takes that as additional responsibility for stage presence and energy - and his energy is amazing in this performance. So is Ryeowook's - he had recently returned from MS and he eats up the vocals (he's not in the first video as both songs were released while he was gone). Special mention to Leeteuk (in the pink shirt). He had just had surgery (gall bladder, I think) and he sits out 2 songs, but when he's on, he's on. And Yesung is impeccable as always. And... actually, they are all fabulous!

"She was Pretty" was our first exposure to Siwon, as well, and here we are 😍 We agree with you that he is a total visual, but also that all of SUPER JUNIOR is fabulous. They all kill it with their energy and presence.

This was definitely the break through song for the Hallyu wave, hence they are the Kings of the Hallyu Wave. Ha ha! They are very good with their formations and transitions even if they’re not always perfectly in synch. They all dance with their own style actually. I believe that the majority of KPop idols have danced to Sorry Sorry at some point. It’s a bit iconic. 😂And with this, you have hit the auto tune era. It was the thing back then. Many of the SJ songs during this time have some funky auto tune going on. Have you two considered doing chunks of album reviews? I was curious because Super Junior (subunits and solos) has so many hidden gems that are not title tracks. They have such a vast and diverse discography. Thanks for your reactions and slowly unpacking the chaos that is SJ.

We are very interested in doing full albums, actually, we just know it's not really doable on TH-cam. Some viewers have pointed us toward Discord for that, so we have considered doing live album reactions there - as opposed to Patreon, which used to be everyone's preference. We haven't had a chance to figure out which would be better for that, but it's definitely on our horizon.
Hello, So, yes Heechul only has like 4 secs on a song because of his injuries, he was still recovering and it's easier to cover his lines is he doesn't have that many lines to cover. Kibum on the other hand, he just left, it was too much pressure for him, he wanted to be an actor, not really a singer. As you probably know already, SJ was supposed to last only 1 year as SJ 05, they got so much love that almost 20 years later they are still here. Anyway, I'm saying that because it was to be 1 year and then they'd go to their respective fields, acting, singing, MCing, etc, it was just to introduce them to the world. Kibum did not wanted to continue, but he's still in good terms with the members, ELF respects his decision.
Sorry Sorry is the 1st of the holly trinity, with Mr Simple and Bonamana. All the live versions are without autotune, but maybe is better to hear the real version and then the live, the better version.
As someone else said, Sorry Sorry Answer is also a nice one, and probably better if you do it now while you still have the sorry, sorry sorry, sorry in you heads.
Awesome, thank you! As you know, we love taking a look at the various groups and songs that are known to "go together." For example, with our Dreamcatcher MVs, we just finished doing their Apocalypse Trilogy. We'd love to take a look at these songs - they've all been recommended, so they'll move up on our list. Perhaps we should take a look at them before tackling our SUPER JUNIOR concert series 🤔
Renjun once said that this song is what is twisting the world or can we understand that this song is the beginning of the hallyu wave began to plague the world over.

If you wanna see the suju at the beginning of their career, try to check MV of their song titled TWINS, U, ITS YOU, DON'T DON. That's some hit songs before sorry-sorry. Because after sorry-sorry, they have a more modern approach style. CMIIW
Sorry Sorry answer is so good!! Because you have the catchyness of Sorry Sorry, but on a whole other level!! The voices and specially in the KRY solo version are, as always, great!

Actually all 13 are in the video but only 11 are dancing as Heechul was injured and Kibum was promoting as an actor and was about to leave the group. The original plan for SuJu was to introduce the members and then break them as actors, dancers, solo vocalists, variety artists,.. etc after a year. So Kibum's original plan was always acting but he stayed with the group for about 5 years.

You need to check out the sorry sorry concert live version it’s 100 times better than this 😍 we elfs are kinda getting sick of this song😭😭 not in a bad way just cause they’ve been singing this too many times but their live versions are never boring they’re the best performers on stage
