Sooo maybe "unlock do not destroy" is about locked vs unlocked flipnotes, and asking creators to, rather than delete/destroy their flips, instead unlock them for people to keep

@@tempori I don't think that was actually a vial, it just looks like that due to the limited color palette, and in fact it's meant to be a lock bolt, like on motel room doors.

@@tempori yeah, I don't get the positioning, but there are some like that. They typically have a little lever sticking out the side, though.
@@lunalesombras1150 im gonna be 100% with you - there are lines on the side that indicate measuring points, and the red line looks like liquid. its a lot like a vial
The "strings" on the bottom of the clock cat look like they are weights in the style of that on a grand father clock.
You also missed some more hidden stuff. ;)
If you download the flips to your DSi starting with the McDoodles one and turn OFF layer 1, there is some hidden text and images that's shown throughout the flipnotes :)
Yeah I knew there would be that. I woulda done that if I still had a DSi.

Something I find quite interesting about archive update 2 is that while Happy Fuzz answers with a modern day mobile phone, Angry Fuzz, the one who goes on about nostalgia and turning back the clock, uses an older, wired telephone to hang up with. It seems like rather specific symbolism, but I can't say for sure what it means for the timeline.
Possibly fuzz has 2 personality's: the one representing creator, and the one representing evil. Possibly even simpler, there are 2 fuzzes. Did you notice that in every video mentioning him he is either cute or creepy evil demon the destroyer of the worlds?
I really appreciate this custom trigger warning frog. It's cute, appropriate, and shows such decent humanity. Once you finished describing this system I walked over to my husband and explained this concept and we both love it. He isn't watching the video, much more my thing, but we are still happier now knowing that this was a genuinely thoughtful and kind act on your part. Great content and a great person!
i haven’t watched the whole video yet but i just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the colored frog symbols!! i love using videos like this for background noise or late at night and really appreciate the warnings - more often than not jumpscares catch me off guard, lol :)

No one ever mentions that when Fuzz snaps his neck it's to the left which makes his smile match the ":)" smiley in "Let's look together" it's a nice little detail. Also not sure how much this will help but Clock Cat is a not so subtle reference to Galatic Nova from Kirby.

cerealbowl was hiding in plain sight, cause his videos are pretty popular on sudomemo. That’s how I even knew about this project in the first place
When I first saw this arg it made me think of this Bandcamp album called flipnoteanimation12709. It's basically bitesized tracks that are songs recorded straight from the DSI speakers, with a few extra surprises here and there. It isn't attached to any analog horror series or Arg, it's most likely just a shitpost but it still gives off a weird and lonely vibe.
Sorry guys- TH-cam wasn't happy with some audio to a 36 year old song, so I had to cut it out of the video. You can watch the proper clip on the June Archive's channel. I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you still enjoy the video.

In the original flipnote about starface, it was instead Luigi and he’d show up on the computer screen and say “you will die”
The monster is a memory virus or at least strongly resembles one, the last flipnote has a link hidden within that leads to something you missed
I'm a friend of the creator of the june archive, and can confirm he is a king of animating, and has big plans ahead.

This project is brilliant! You did a fantastic job summarizing and theorizing. I was honored to have one of my flipnotes (DSi Safety Parody) featured in the Archive, and I am very excited to see where it goes from here.
My favorite aspect of this ARG is the worldbuilding. I'm really impressed with how the city, characters, themes, and art styles have already been so fleshed out, while still leaving those eerie, unanswered questions that comprise great ARGs.

i think there is a seperate entity in fuzz they seem to leave their mark with the :) emoticon it could just be a different side of fuzz but with how it seems to jerk his body around it seems more like he is possessed like some of the other flipnote characters it kinda feels like this smile face has hitched itself to the archives to find something also notice when "fuzz" turns his head he isnt just snaping his neck but making us know that the smile is talking forcing fuzz's head to make the :) face we also hear it wants to change some things now whether this is just to turn back time and make hatena stay around or somethin else i dont think we know for sure yet

I was sadly never really into flipnotes except for the ones ported onto TH-cam when I was younger, so I don't know very much of the lore in that department. Maybe clockcat is a reference to something? I remember there was a big internet trend of that cat animation licking the screen, and I'm pretty sure that was on flipnote, so it might be that but it's a bit of a stretch. I love your video btw! I'm genuinely shocked that this isn't by some huge commentary channel, when I saw your sub count I almost fainted- the quality on this is immaculate and I'm looking forward to what you'll produce in the future :D

oh my god. i used to be a flipnote artist in the pokemon / eeveelution community ! Im SO GLAD i found out that this exists. I vividly remember 11 year old me having these pretend conversations with myself trying to bargain with the creators of hatena not to shut it down because it means so much to so many. and then i stopped creating because my ds screen on one of my DSI's went funky and became unresponsive on one side (a common problem for flipntoe artists) and on my other, the L+R buttons stopped working (another common problem for heavy flipnote makers) and i couldnt create as easily anymore. I stopped. And then it actually shut down a couple years later.
Im sharing this series with all of my old flipnote friends. Its such a trip. Thank you for covering it.

clock cat reminds me of a Nova from Kirby not sure if that plays into anything but its a nice observation
A simplistic start to what the Clock Cat could be, especially considering "Dark" Fuzz's conversation about turning back the time in the 2nd Thank You video, could be a showing of the time Fuzz rewinded to allow him to find the "thing" he is desperately searching for, so the time is returned back to 11 pm of the last day of Flipnote and slowly moving forward and eventually creeping upon the "Dawn of the Last Day" before everything is destroyed all over again.
But there absolutely could be more meaning to it all, but that's a simple start.
This is such a cool arg!!! i only just heard of it now and you did an amazing job covering it and i can say im definitely a fan! one thing i noticed while watching through during the last note with fuzz there were flashing letters at the bottom of the screen. maybe theyre the file address to a hidden note? not sure but they definitely seemed like they were there for a reason, unless they spelt something out!
(edit) ok so i kinda have an idea of what click cat could be?? the creator of this arg is a kirby fan and in kirby there’s a boss called galactic nova and it’s a clock with a mouth that kind of looks like a cat mouth?? hard to explain but there’s a little resemblance. not completely sure just a hunch

Fantastic video overall. The coloured frog to warn for jumpscares was a really nice touch too, I've not seen anyone do anything like that and I agree when you said it seems like the best way to show them unaltered but also warn for jumpscares. Cant wait for the follow up to see where this goes

File names in flipnotes are always in a specific format otherwise the DS will not play them. The file names include data such as when it was last saved, along with the console's network MAC address
What I think makes this good is, it's all actually done in flipnote! It's all done almost completely inside flipnote! At least the animation and recording side.

my theory so far: Fuzz is a mind virus that used flipnote hatena to spread. nintendo (or who ever ran hatena) discovered him and as it was already starting to get out of hand they deleted Hatena to stop him. now fuzz is either trying to restore his hunting ground or he left something important (maybe the red vial) in hatena city and is going back to retrieve it.

This is the only ARG I have ever found that truly has struck fear into me. Every other ARG I have seen only slight equipment me out this one my mind is on a roller coaster at this point.
Like this ARG it truly scares me but it also makes me so very invested into it to the point that I don't want to stop watching at this point my mind is in a vicious cycle

I believe the actual animator was a big creator from what I heard from another video on this it may not be cannon to the In series storyline tho

You are the first channel I've seen do a creative warning system like your green/yellow/red frog, which is both clever & under-rated! I personally love horror, but I have an autistic friend who get over stimulated easy. She'll only watch specific horror media, that I've already previewed, with me because I'll warn her when things are about to happen. This indicator you've implemented actuallu has a lot of potential and could work brilliantly should other users adopt it 🤔
Seeing the orange frog in the first video made my heart rate skyrocket
One thing I noticed is in archive announcement 1 when fuzz is right next to the computer screen with another fuzz on it the fuzz on the screen eyes actually move to be looking at the viewer or I maybe looking in too much of things but one thing I think is a detail is that when fuzz snaps his neck it sorta resembles cat clock aka the head on the left side of the body with the head still connect to the main body
And another random detail is that whenever time is mentioned it glitches out like in the first ever upload and the seventh upload
I think the fuzz on the screen in archive announcement 1 is actually clock cat or just represents clock cat and somehow it's going back trying to find something

There has been two June Archive Flipnotes after this video was uploaded. The two Flipnotes center around Clock Cat.
Maybe since fuzz said something about turning the clock backwards, he built clock cat to reverse time powered with those cylindrical thingy ma bobs.

Maybe characters that transcended Flipnote have ascended to a higher plane?
An example could be EpicGuitar/PotooBrigham's Zangoose, Charizard, etc.
I think that nostalgia will be a very big theme in this ARG Fuzz is (what I think) an avatar for a person who wants the same feeling they did a long time ago and what we're really seeing is a way of telling the story of this person and should really be taken beyond face value.
Moral of the story: use Sudomemo
Well, glad to know I know I'm not the only one who felt this way, Ironically I think I understand the intention here, to turn back time just enough to bring it all back, even though it might be incredibly hard... an arg who would've guessed, but yea, nostalgia, if there is anything I want to get rid off in my life it is that... Nostalgia is a virus in my opinion, I'm not anything related to this arg or whats happening but this indeed sent me through a trip, and I won't be able to get it out of my head any time soon, I still miss everything and everyone from those times, back then was the only times I wasn't alone, Hatena is what made a the few people who feel this way, I feel the exact same way these creators do, my dsi has gone through hell but I should be able to retrieve everything that had been in its memory and sd cards. We were all so young, and I guess I was just one of these few out there that actually can't let go of flipnote hatena either. If there are any others out there who were out there for the Hatena days or heck, even the DSi paint peeps, hope yall are doing well, the worlds only descended more and more since those days and I miss it all, life was still hell but it had more hope too hahah.

I just realized that this whole Unfiction/ARG is basically one big middle finger to the concept of nostalgia. (Even I agree that nostalgia is stupid as well.) The past is the past, and there's nothing you can do about it. Deal with it and grow up, people. Life and the universe don't give two damns about "your childhood", because it's gone now. Try all you might, but in the end, it's futile. Forget the past and focus on the future. (Dwelling on the past is not good for anyone's mental health, anyways.)
