Infact, this is just unfortunate and unnecessary. Why should the governmental institution of this sort get involved with this in the first place?
There are many reputable Ghanaians out there doing better things to add value to lives and destines abroad who visit Ghana everyday but don’t get this kind of welcoming. My question is will the ministry of tourism also do that to some of us who are relevant to society? The hypocrisy on the part of us as Ghanaians is just too much. We celebrate outsiders, make them feel special and wanted than our own indigenous Ghanaians. I don’t care what the Nigerians did aside, we are not in any competition with anyone. Foreigners are treated like kings and queens in Ghana but those of us living abroad do not get such accorded respect, treatment and welcoming in other countries. We are always treating our own like second class human beings. This is just over the top. We should learn to appreciate and treat our own with dignity and respect.
