    PIyush, could you please suggest how to get this switch working in constant - and constant off mode?i.e. push button - led is on, push the button ones more - led is off.Are there any integral schemes for this purpose?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you will use these switch directly for switching on the LED or any other electronics/electrical things it will conduct electricity until you are pressing it, it is like press to work switch.
      These switch are programmed with ICs to work for signalling the IC only rest of work (to keep the things on/off) depends upon the programming inside the IC which was decided by a programmer how he want that particular device to be act.

    How to fix it , if it can't make the circuit closed by connecting two terminal even after pressing it ?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use the paired terminals as 1 terminal, after which you will get a 2 terminal switch.
      If you are unable to get/understand the 1 method, then please place the switch on the same place of the control panel PCB I mean just solder it to the place from where you have taken it out, polarity doesn't matter in this case.

      its know as Tactile Switch (you can try searching on google with this name)
      result from google:
      Q. What is a tactile switch
      A. Tactile Switches are an electromechanical device used to start or stop current flow along a circuit. Devices in this family are often very small and are turned on or off through the use of an actuator that is depressed into the unit's body.

      In general use you could use any of the 4 or 2 terminal switch, both will fulfill your need for single triggering. 4 terminals switch are majorly used in PCB to create 2 triggering instance. Means in one press 2 trigger will occur even without a small delay.

    Although,I do have the same switch, it makes the click sound when I push. Could it still be broken ?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      generally these switches get corroded after a long time of use, especially during rainy season or in damp climate.
      So it might be possible, if it does make a click sound while pressed, then 90% chances is that it got corroded. Means all the mechanism and the other things might be working properly, however the current is not passing through just because of the corrosion. You could try cleaning the bulged metallic plate(as in the video) which is responsible of the connection when get pressed.
      Caution: Do it at your on risk. It may cause harm to you product/gadget/appliances.

    What's the difference between tactile and momentary switches..?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tactile switch are the small switch used for low voltage operations or in the electronics gadgets. It is even used in electrical gadgets but in low voltage usage section.
      Electronics device - Domestic/home router - reset switch
      Electrical appliance - Induction stove - sending a small signal to trigger/turn on the appliance(induction stove).
      Momentary switch deals with high voltage, on/off switch in water pump driver board. Most of the time it is being used in electrical circuits, it bigger in size and could be assessed easily.

    if the tactile is working but only when pressed very hard ...would this suggest dirt that only needs to be cleaned out or is it something more serious?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right, this mostly happens due to corrosion and some short of layer formation on the metallic contact.

    • @zazz63
      @zazz63 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PiyushPrasoon ..but do you think corrosion is something to be remedied or does it normally mean a complete switch replacement?

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zazz63 Better to replace the switch with a better quality of Tectile switch (any way these switches are very cheap).
      Mostly when moister in the air got increased then it forms an oxide layer on the metallic surface , which we can say corrosion in this case.
      So its totally depends on the property of metal lying inside the switch, that how reactive is it, when got exposed with moist atmosphere/air.

    How to find out which one Pin A, Pin B, Pin C and Pin D, can you help me,

    • @PiyushPrasoon
      @PiyushPrasoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Arell,
      It very simple, BTW this a switch so there is no polarity, hence you need to check the shorted pins (pins which are connected internally).
      You could check it in 2 ways:
      1. using an LED and a battery - connect it with any 2 pins one by one if the LED glows without pressing the switch...then those 2 terminals (pins) are shorted internally. and off course no need to check other 2(which will be definitely a shorted terminals once you find any shorted terminal for the first time).
      2. Use multimeter continuity check method to figure out the shorted pins.
      Hope you got it now.
