Omg. I listened Tokio Hotel when I was in primary school. I had like 10 years. Just a few days ago I remembered them and I played "Monsoon" cause it was my fav song. I read that the video is about depression, besides to be yourself. When I saw the image of Bill dressed like a woman I had such a shock... O.O But now I know why: Bill is a boy (I can't say or write he's a man; he still looks like a 20th boy...) frustrated by his life, and that leads him to depression. The only way he knows to fight it is to put a "mask" (or better, dressing like a woman, even to make him not being recognized by the people he knows, I don't know if I'm clear...) and do what he really likes, dancing, and stay with the people he loves. Just... to be himself. Free to be himself, alive, even for few moments.
And firstly, when I saw Tom's cameo, I told myself: "What's with Tom...?" but I think he represents the depressed person who doesn't still find a way to fight his "illness" and the only way he finds in front of him is death (see the way he falls and "vanish"...)
That's what I think about this video.
Tokio Hotel always teach us life's stuffs with their videos, that's why I restart loving them...

Exactly what I was thinking. But who knows, maybe he freaked out back then, becase a side of him he was scared of got exposed. He also used to defend his sexuality as straight but in newer videos, his sexuality seems to be very fluid. It might also just all be for the sake of the videos - we won't really know unless Bill comes out someday.

Since the very beginning I was really confused and didn't know if I should call Bill handsome or pretty. I've always called him just beautiful and that's what I think he is. I fell in love with Tokio Hotel because of their old songs, I liked them best in German. Such an amazing language, btw. Now they've changed, but hey, who doesn't? I love this video and I have so many thoughts about it. Back in the day Bill used to get harassed because of the way he dressed and did his hair an makeup. People would say he looked like a girl and they'd speculate about his sexuality, and often these speculations were impolite and had ill intent. But now Bill is coming out with songs like this one and LWLYB and I think the message here is, yeah, maybe I am questioning my sexuality and gender, but that's not a bad thing, in fact I'm going to embrace it and create art. Perhaps he's reclaiming his identity, as well as validating others who feel similarly. I think it's so cool that he's expressing these things through music. Absolutely love it.

Tokio Hotel. Hell... they are even marketing geniuses!! They’re writing all their own music, producing it... and they wanted more instruments and sound effects without sharing the money outside of the four of them so Tom and Georg simply learned how to play more instruments. Not bad for kids that “made it BIG” before ever finishing school!!! Bill was the HIGHEST PAID rocker/band member in the world of 2018-2019!!! Something he told his fans during this last tour.... “thank you for accepting me as I am and allowing me to do this for you because I truly love you and love what I do”. That pretty much said it all.
