Aran mains hate the change. Non-aran mains find it confusing since it no longer looks or feels like aran. Damage was nerfed on a class that was underperforming, and it's now a warrior that plays like a mage with two cooldowns on each significant skill. If they wanted to make this, they should have just made a new class.

Ah, yes. Aran and Shade. Two classes everyone really wanted to be remastered. I certainly can't think of any other hero classes people might have wanted a remaster for.....
Been an aran main since i started reboot. The aran reboot feels extra insulting because the patch before we got a 6th job core for Hunter's Prey that was arguably one of the strongest cores of the patch! We lost an I-frame/summon that was also a party heal/cleanse, very nice for gloom. The new summon is plain bad. There's zero reason for it to exist. And the I-frame we get in replacement? It doesn't do anything. It's literally just a 2 second i-frame. That's it. No damage, no buff, nothing. Just 2 seconds of i-frame. Ever Kaiser's i frame does a map wide attack. We lost a 50% Attack buff, with no replacement Adrenaline mode used to give us extra lines, which was huge. no longer does that. It literally does nothing by itself. It just allows us to use certain skills. There's zero reason for adrenaline to exist. There's also a cooldown on adrenaline now. The skill that required us to have 1000 combo count to activate. It's lame. Imagine if Kaiser had a cooldown on Final Form. Or Luminous had a cooldown on their equilibrium mode. What's the point of a combo meter if there's a cooldown tacked on anyway? We can use the "new" hunter's prey once per adrenaline. And the new hunter's prey is weaker for no real reason. We get a crappy Lord of The Deep-like ability, but the damage isn't really that significant. Our origin went from one of the most unique, to generic. And generally our burst went from feeling pretty nice, to kind of clunky. Part of it is muscle memory, but I feel like I'm fumbling around and panickedly trying to make sure i use every skill i need to in adrenaline I'm not too fussed about the aesthetics. I don't like them, and think it doesn't match Aran, but the visual change wasn't enough to make me quit. It was the fact we were a middle of the road class at the absolute best case, and are now literally one of the lowest DPM classes in the game. Aran is a warrior that doesn't feel much like a warrior anymore. Phantom and Kaiser dodged a bullet, frankly. I've heard rumors that Nexon wants to "remaster" the resistance classes. I can only hope they are treated better than Aran was.
for me it felt like the old Battle Mage remaster from many years ago with those weird stone hands attacks, koreans hated it so much they went back, i mean i wasnt a Aran main but I really like the playstyle and the aesthetics, then where is the fenrir wolf? i mean u get a wolf mount and was part of the class from the very beggining, the turtle and that weird serpent? they did u guys dirty for sure.+

There were actually so many nerfs to Aran that I forgot that we used to be able to heal and cleanse our party. The fact that they not only nerfed us to the ground, but also completely changed our play style as well is just too much. Here's a list of nerfs: - Adrenaline on CD. Literally makes no sense. - Our instant-adrenaline skill. Gone. - Less s and Hunters prey burst because of adr. being on cd and Instant adr. skill removal - Hunters Prey got nerfed so bad it became WORSE than PRE-SIXTH JOB (5th job HP use to have more mobility). - Our bind/burst were split, which would've been good if not for the fact that everyone has enough slots to add erda bind now. - Origin skill used to be unique where we went into super adrenaline and we could smack the crap out of bosses for 15 secs in super adr. THEN activate the skill again for the animation burst. Gone. Now it's just a slow origin skill. - Combo inputs - gone - shock wave from final blow, final blow and grappling hook- gone - Change the entire look of our class which one may argue is fine, but there are tons of people who play fashionstory and bought things based on the look of the class skills. Imagine if you swapped AB and kain's skill styles and pallets, bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. It's wild how Nexon just green lights this kind of stuff without talking to the player-base.
Honestly been on and off with Maple, seeing how they're at this point understanding the issues especially with GMS but continue to pull bs like this is so shady. They're really not focusing on the quality of updates and that's a continuing issue of these games
im still trying to wonder why aran needed a rework in the first place she took some time getting used to, but it wasn't any harder than the actual hard classes to play
Aran Main of 9 years, the Aran portion of this remaster was a major flop. Nothing makes sense, so much is missing, it honestly feels like a failed indie kickstarter gaming company launch with over funding with poor delivery. I'm still debating to push out my rant/review video (damn thing's script is about a few pages long lol)
Praying Evan doesn't get a rework. I love actually having more than two or three attack skills, there's 40+ other classes people can play if they don't like the flowchart playstyle.
I’ve already stated my grief over this change to Aran in the last video, so not gonna say much here. But, I’ll still keep playing Aran because as I’ve stated before long time ago, I’ve been maining Aran since the year the class was first released so I have definitely put a lot of effort into grinding, play time and funding in terms of both gear upgrades and cash shop items. So I won’t just out right stop playing as Aran, just not to happy about the changes…
I'm a seasonal player and my main is an Aran and this update looks great! It has now given me no reason to ever return to this game :) I'm free! Been an Aran main since its release. I have the medal to prove it lol.
I already disliked how Beyond Blade felt like I was just a mage summoning things, but the remake made that feeling happen way earlier in Aran's life. They're no longer a polearm combo warrior but a spirit animal mage. This also ignores how hard their damage was hit for bossing. I don't blame the Aran mains for quitting over this because the changes are just so bad.
Look how they massacred my boy 😭. The fucking audacity. Aran is completely unplayable now. It used to be one of my fastest boss mules and now I have to wait three fucking minutes between bosses just to burst.
I made an aran before the revamp, loved it, made a PNO Secondary with amazing stats, & now it's for sale in the AH. Shade is really fun, but man Aran might as well not exist to me now.
Im terrified that someday my main will get a major revamp like this that makes them no longer fun to play. There are certainly classes that haven't been overhauled in longer than Aran which could be on the chopping block.
Always be fearful, don't trust Nexon, don't get attached to a class or else you'll end up like Kana, Aran, and lastly the class that shouldn't be name...............jet....
It’s not always bad. I was a Beast Tamer main, now Lynn, and I can say that once I got used to it I really like the class a lot now. Definitely a lot better for bossing than BT was. I quit when Jett removal got announced cause I feared for the fate of my BT since it was a buggy class as well. Came back when Lynn came out and have been playing since
If you put 10 different classes in front of me and asked me “which one is which”, I’m not confident I could get them all right.. The effects and animations now are so over the top, I can’t even tell where the character is half of the time on screen.

I've mained aran ever since i started in reboot. This year has been very rough for me, worst in my life for sure and i remember when i saw aran is getting remaster i thought it's surprising, but maybe it's little something to make things better. Not that it matters anymore but guess it was just a continuation of bad streak.
As an aran main, i felt the 90 second CD for addrealine kinda weird and affected damange burst cycles. and also its how the summon polearm thing doesn't hit mobs above? and who the aoe damage with addrealine mode seems useless lol..... sad to have to let my main go... now I'm playing demon slayer lol
guys if im not looking to spend a dime on this game, should i play reboot or reg servers? I mean i rather do regular, but can you easily get pets for free on regular, and gear up without p2w?

As an aran main I think the worst part is the cd on adrenaline rush. It makes no sense and feels clumsy. Why have a combo system that just gets ignored by a cd? Makes bossing feel clunky.
All these changes to Aran, and they leave the Up Jump as a must use combo, because without the attack-jump input you barely leave the ground. New Adr Rush is terrible.
Logged onto my Arab right away to try it out since it has always been such a cool class and I was dissapointed big time. Their identity has been totally stripped why do their skills look like bootleg Hoyoung?? Their kit feels so underwhelming too
Been playing Aran since after big bang (though i did make one when he/she was released) and i gotta say that my only major gripe is the cooldown for adrenaline rush activation has a cooldown. Almost everything else isn't that big of a deal for me (especially since i still can't beat easy lucid, i got bad hands). The polearm summon i need to get used to but of well. I do like that Aran has a chinese theme with their attacks (black tortise, vermillion bird, azure dragon, and white tiger)
@remynijholt 269 and I've not been optimizing my gameplay at all. Though I have been on and off every so often. The only merit I have to my name is that when arcane river was first released I experienced having to fill up the crystals and wait (I think) 1 hour for each crystal before completing them.
The skills of aran may look hoyoung like but the playstyle is very one dimensional and boring to me I’m kinda disappointed they got rid of the iconic polar bear swipe wish they kept it in and made it visually cooler
Shade now plays like ab Aran...feels like crap to play, doesn't really have identity, sure it still has damage but wtfffff yo dawg i heard you like cds so i cd your cd so you can cd when you cd

I kept my 261 Shade but made a new Aran (old one was 210 for the link) and i prefer Aran now, but i didn't play it that much before, it was mostly bonks and events.
i for one am glad the combo key bonus is gone i know it was a unique thing to the class but it always made me feel like shit when i and couldn't hit the keys right and I'm just mashing the buttons and then just switch the the reg skill and lose out on the bonus cuz i suck lol. can we get a Phantom rework please

I always used the inputs for Aran's combos just because it clears a lot of my keyboard for buffs and it engages me more.

Remaster Aran makes my polearm sad. Also no, Adrenaline's buffs were never transferred anywhere, they're just gone.
I like both remasters, shade feels more fluid to me. Since i never used aran properly, the remaster worked in my favor lol

I miss the origin boosted spirit claw but Shades not that bad. Aran character theme was ruined mostly and her damage ig.

i used to hate shade and love aran, now it is flipped and i find that quite wierd
The day when Phantom gets remastered is the day I come back to this god forsaken game.

You can always go into your game options to turn down the skills opacity setting.. problems solved.
