Stephen has this habit over interrupting every. god. damn. sentence. a person is speaking in because he NEEDS to show his knowledge blah blah. It's so annoying. Just LET the guest talk ffs.
Brits have a completely different mindset about actors than Americans do. Brit actors are treated like people not gods so he's not used to the whistling and whooping. They'll treat Brit football players the way Americans treat actors though. They also don't cast people by looks first and talent second, or third, or fourth. You don't see cookie cutter blonds with no acting talent on all their tv shows like you do in American productions, which is why Brit shows are far superior. Their shows have really good actors and the characters look like real people, not magazine cut-outs.
yep my thought. Remember when Graham Norton confronted him with his very "fashionable" sweaters from a catalogue... Jennifer Lawrence was freaking out... lol... This sweater was not much better....
Me too. I know so many people who knock him for no other reason than other people do it. When I asked why they hate him so much, they never have a answer. It's not lack ot talent, he has it. He is no Olivier, but he is not shitty at his job either and takes it seriously. It's not because he is a douchebag on set and is impossible to work with. Everyone who has worked with him has nothing but kind things to say. He does his promotion like a pro. Is charming like this interview and can keep it going for months on end for the same project. So just what is it that is hated about him. Some people just like living in misery.
He's a huge part of why that 'franchise' bombed. Most of the Beasts casting was horrible. The writing, directing, acting, special effects and the Beasts were all pretty bad too.
💗Eddie Redmayne! 💗Jessica Chastain! I can't wait to watch it. ~ If you're an Eddie fan, I implore you to watch *_'Pillars of the Earth'_* The first thing I ever saw him in. For me, this is was the original Game of Thrones (just in flavour) If you love Eddie & GoT, you will enjoy Pillars! You won't be disappointed. 😊
An OG observation, Ya know those sayings, axioms, affirmations etc. that basically point out our sameness? I'm looking at Mr. Redmayne's body language, ( never mind that he looks like he could use a coupla classic Jackson's Hole burgers ). As accomplished an actor as he is and being widely respected by his peers as he is, he appears to be widely uncomfortable, his speech is pressured, if he clutches himself any harder he will break a rib...he appears as nervous as a mouse in a room full of mouse traps. I point this out not as criticism but rather to challenge the idea that the rich, the famous, the lauded, the trust fund malcontent, the consummate profession, the day laborer and the neurosurgeon all have our shared foibles, fallibilities. Each of us has strengths common to one another and while we share foibles & fallibilities each of us have a strength unique to us, separate & apart from each other. 🗣️Eddie you can relax now, you're amongst peers of the human condition.🙃
I think it's because this is an atrocity of an interview. He can't get a word in edgewise let alone track the questions he's being asked. Who wouldn't be on edge
@@akaemmaclaire I'm really confused at that. Stephen is usually such a perceptive interviewer. I wonder if he recognized how ill-at-ease Eddie was, and was trying to help him out, maybe trying to find a subject that he could relax with and open up about? Probably the worst interview I've seen Stephen do. i was dying with Eddie the whole time.
@@kayecastleman6353If you view it again, ( TH-cam ), he was clutching himself soon after he sat down. Could it be Mr. Redmayne is ill at ease with notoriety/praise/recognition?🤔 Think about many of the roles he's played as the reluctant hero, the forlorn lover, roles in which he tortures himself over indecision before he launches into action as a last resort. His characters have largely been men at odds with themselves.
I do love Eddie. Does anyone remember Jimmy on the Mickey Mouse Club? Maybe it's the outfit, but golly gee kids, he reminds me of sitting there on the floor in front of the TV singing with the Mouseketeers. M I C K E Y M O U S E
Would love to see Eddie in Twelfth Night with Mark Rylance. 2013 i had the pleasure to see the play with Mark Rylance as Olivia and Steven Fry as Malvolio in the Apollo Theatre in London. The stage was fantastic with seats for audience left and right of the stage, so you literally had a feeling of kind of interactivity with the scenes and actors. I was seating next to the exit of the stage and got a chance to peak for the actors back there in their inactive parts of the play. Mark Rylance was seating there in the role of Olivia with such dignity and full in the role. No relaxed funny behavior, just fully focused. That was even more impressive then the play itself. Enjoy: th-cam.com/video/RDPT2e26SgY/w-d-xo.html
I understand their feelings but really kids and others need to be taught to let go of these actors in their minds. We dont own them and as they grow and go on we get new and wonderful characters through them.
Let Sing Merry Christmas And a Happy Holiday This Season Maybe Never Forget The Love We Had For Jesus Let Me Be The One To Guide Us Has Another New Year Start And Maybe The Spirit Of Christmas We Always In Our Hearts
great piece; but I see that imposter syndrome and closed conversation from Eddie. body language says a lot. open up. let us see your TRUE COLOURS. You are a professional!
He looked terrified and insecure to me. I've seen Eddie with Graham Norton and he looks totally at ease. Maybe Stephen should have opened his liquor cabinet.
Weird when I saw the thumbnail I thought Eddie looked very feminine with his facial structure lol and he then talks about him dressed up as a woman lol so weird
I have to say, after suffering through watching so many painful interviews with really great guests, I just don’t think Stephen is a good interviewer. His ego is too big.
Isn’t he a frustrated actor? Anyway, you’re right - he seems to think he has to compete with his guests. Graham Norton allows them to flourish, which is why he is so popular and can handle four stars on a couch.
I love Eddie Redmayne, he is so cute, sensitive, empathetic and genuine vibe!!!! His acting is just superb...
1:13 if Stephen interrupts him one more time I'm gonna scream
I knowwwwww😩😡
👍🏻😒Many of us screamed with You!!😤

Getting as bad as Fallon 😫
Honestly it annoys me so much
Absolutely love the range of Eddie Redmayne.
I love how a lifelong actor and Academy (and BAFTA) award winner is still so nervous in front of a live tv studio audience... 🤗🤗

I'd pay money to see a recording of that audition when Mark Rylance suddenly made a drunken Redmayne improvise iambic pentameter.
Me too!
Magic!!
He always so sweet and likeable and so incredibly talented!! I watched, “The Danish Girl” again a few weeks ago. What a powerhouse 🥰🥰
Very good actor. And a good person.

We can only imagine his daughter bragging (in her best English accent) "My daddy's a serial killer. What does your daddy do?"
I was in his show as an audience!. fantastic!. thanks for having a small talk with you colbert!>
What a great actor. He's just amazing.
I would love to know the end of all those sentences Eddie started to say at the first half of this video.

I can barely get through it, it feels so rude
Well now I wanna be a candy shop wizard.
And I do kind of think the job suits him as well 😁 Bringing joy and wonder and remaining childlike.
Another Weasley? lol
He's just BEAUTIFUL!!!
Eddie clearly carried his fashion sense straight from the catalogues he was modelling for all those years ago. Interesting wardrobe choice.
yep my thought. Remember when Graham Norton confronted him with his very "fashionable" sweaters from a catalogue... Jennifer Lawrence was freaking out... lol... This sweater was not much better....
Stephen won’t let him finish a sentence!!! let him taalkkkkkk
Eddie is the most adorable, the best, the cutest creation of the creator

Saw him as Emcee - fabulous actor
2:33 “Did / you do / the thing / he asked / of you?” I think Stephen was trying to get Eddie to do a little iambic pentameter off the cuff.
