For future reference purposes i have 1 word for you: tulle. You can buy 10 yards for 10 bucks online or get it from fabric stores. It might sound it won't work but i assure you it has endless uses in the garden. Use it to wrap your melons and any critter will leave it alone their nails get hung in it and they think it's a trap. It won't hurt them or you or your food it's super easy and fast to put on. I used it last year to prevent vine borers and squash bugs it keeps anything from eating my strawberries. I can't name how many ways I've used it. Btw raccoons or possums did that damage they routinely make a hole and scoop out the insides and yes like humans they usually don't eat the seeds. Collect those seeds that's money laying on the ground. They are very smart animals. Happy gardening!

So this year im trying again to grow the personal size ones just for him.Its the size of a grapefruit but needs to grow a little more.My cuz gave them six cantaloupe plants and i kept four and gave two away. I grew mine in grow bags in a make shift system I designed lol it’s working so far! I made video on my chanel if you’d like to see… I’m very proud of it 😊 that’s a gorgeous watermelon patch

I was thinking tulle also you can use it also to cover your brassicas it keeps the moths from laying worms that eat them.
Miss Linda tulle fabric works wonders in the garden. Just lay it over your melon patch. It works for protecting my beans from groundhogs.
