- The video is Satyajit Ray tribute.
This video is a compilation of the beautiful shots of Satyajit Ray movies. (Turn on the captions for the International titles of the Satyajit Ray films)
Satyajit Ray was an Indian filmmaker, who had directed, produced and written over 35 films. His filmography included full length features, short films and documentaries. He is considered as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers around the world.
I was able to get access to 17 Satyajit Ray movies. Though I found some other films of him on the internet, but the visual quality of them were not high definition or some of them were heavily water marked. I am working on to find the HD prints of his other films as well and will upload the second part of this video as soon I find them.
The shots used from Satyajit Ray films, are as follows -
Pather Panchali (1955), Aparajito (1956), Jalsaghar (1958), Apur Sansar (1959), Abhijan (1962), Mahanagar (1963), Charulata (1964), Two (1964), Kapurush (1965), Mahapurush (1965), Nayak (1966), Aranyer Din Ratri (1969), Sonar Kella (1974), Shatranj Ke Khilari (1977), Ganashatru (1990), Shakha Proshakha (1990), Agantuk (1992)

These scenes deserves to be shown in a cultural museum. Pinnacle of filmmaking, modern art and literature!🙏
True.👍
Stop boasting. Not all of them.
@@atwunzinfact all of them
I have seen Ray's Movies for over 2 decades, today 2023 very minimum to minimum movies have that level of picturization. Cameras 1955 also did not move up and down. Ray, only one and only one.
seriously now a days ,the movies made are not even worth watching ....
Pausing anytime on any of these clips, will emerge a mind-blowing photograph as well.
If foreign country had a personality like Satyajit ray, they would have appreciated them in a manner we could never do.
That's what it is , he is right Indian audience is backward
Yes , faltu hindi cinema is the reason for this....
Every few years I watch The Road trilogy (I'm 70) and always find another exquisite moment another exquisite shot.
After watching each and every shot i couldn't stop myself from exclaiming "WOW".
Each and every shot is a masterpiece.
Satyajit Ray Sir was an absolute legend!!!
Credits to Subhrata Mitra, the cinematographer of Satyajit Ray and possibly the best cinematographer of all time
Absolutely. Soumendo was good but subrata unmatched
Ray was the brightest Ray of indian cinema
soumitra and satyajit that duo was peak 💀🗿🥶
I''m surprised to see almost no scenes from Sonar Kella (the camel scene? the railway scene, etc), Devi, etc. Left out most of the amazingly cinematic scenes!
0:24 what a beautiful shot .
👍
😊
I think now I can clearly see Satyajit's influence on Wes Anderson
The repertoire is huge. The dense semiotics used by Ray, deconstruct a rich multilayered texture of complex psychological landscape that embodies the subtlety of the cultural politics of emotion at its finest lens. I personally like the climax of kapurush, the chameleon scene in ashani sanket, the modern man's alienation amid the chaos of volatile political economy with merit taking the back stage in jana aranye, the climax of charulata showing the lacuna in the already fragile bond of bhupati and charulata and many more.
I have finished reading Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhay novel Aparajito...How greaty he wrote...I am totally specchless...
I fell ashamed of myself never read him before.
He used to frame his shots so perfectly its amazing
Thanks Adyfilk, For Considering My Suggestion Regarding Satyajit Ray Best Cinematic Shots. Thanks Again 🙏
Though most of the shots seem very simple, a good technique is used to get good effects and sentiments in those days
My pleasure👍 Thanks!🙏
The background music went very well with the video. I was glued to it.
Great!🙏👍
Thank you very much for uploading this video 📹. Satyajit Ray is the one of the best 👌 Film Directors 🎥 🎞 🎦 of the World.
🙏
Thank you so much for this amazing video...Every shot is a masterpiece.
A little sad that Indir Thakrun (played by Chunibala Devi) from Pather Panchali and Goopy-Bagha got missed. My favourite ones are the scenes where
1.Aparna looks at Apu 2:08(Apur Sansar)
2.Charu is lifting up the binocular 3:36 (Charulata).
3. Showing the Advent Of Rainy Season in Pather Panchali , Where Durga enjoys the rain. 2:59
Thanks so much!🙏 I will try to include those shots, if I will make a second version of this video.
Great choices too!
❤
Not only just films
These arts are treasures 🌼🌺
The master pieces 🌼🌺
I can't explain what is there in those novels or stories and frames 🌼🌺
Something immortal 🌼🌺🙏
Something that can't be created again 🌼🌺🙏
Those pain🌼🌺
Those morals and values 🌼🌺
Those ethics 🌼🌺
Something that today's generation can never understand
Or will never be able to create 🌼🌺
Today's generation know only
A bunch of unethical, dumb, useless, things like Netflix and so on🥀
😢🙏🌟✨
1:21 for the 60’s this is such beautiful imagination.
Watched some of his films.
They are masterpieces
Rays Father was a great poet & a writer.
He is the real GOAT❤❤❤
3:40 what a concept. Mind blowing
Beautiful. Thank you, Mr Ray.
Adyfilk you have inspired me to purchase from Criterion Satyajit Ray’s timeless DEVI .
Thank you for the inspired images from civilization 5,000 years in making profound haunting gorgeous !
That's so nice of you!🙏Thanks so much!🙏👍
Heavy influence of French New Wave but so beautifully synched with essence of India.❤
Well i see Jean Renoir's influence more than French New Wave which took off after Pather Panchali..He was already a great, wise, mature master with his first film.
Definitely beautiful. Very well edited. Though was expecting shots from iconic Gupi Gayin Bhaga Bayin, Herok Rajar Deshe, Ashani Sanket , Joy baba Felunath and more shots from Sonar Kella.
Thanks so much!🙏 The films that you have mentioned are masterpieces by Satyajit Ray, but some how I was not able to find HQ prints of those films. I will create a second part of this video on finding HD prints of other Ray films.👍
@@Adyfilk Thank you. Will await for your next video

Thanks for the feedback!👍
I am big fan of SS Rajamouli and I find these shots ordinary shots nothing special but SS Rajamouli's shots are just like paintings just click any frame and hang it on the wall its beautiful
Lol ray hasn't had technology back you don't know him ; his story isn't normal it's cinematic art; Big Hollywood directors are inspired from the work of ray ;
Like Martin Scorsese;
He was the one to get first world recognition, he was right Indian audience is backward
