My Dad played this song on his guitar. I lived to listen to it. He's been gone 3 years now. This version is the best I've heard next to being able to hear Dad again. Thank you😢.
I don’t know how I have never heard of you guys before Yellowstone. You guys are awesome and you have found a fan that is going to stick around for a long long time.
Shane, I hope you guys get the massive amounts of recognition you all deserve. I remember hearing "The End" for the first time almost two years ago- that song still ignites a dream in my mind every time I hear it. Keep that golden voice singing as long as you can- means the world to a lot of us.
Holy shit!.. I needed this and didn't even know it... (NOT HERE BECAUSE OF YELLOWSTONE!) been listening to these guys for about 3 years now.. this is absolute 🔥
I love this rendition of Townes Van Zandt's song.Beautifully produced and the guitar and fiddle work so well together with the exquisite harmonising. As TVZ may have said:"Thank you for playing a medley of my hit!." Great job.
Well damn Shane each time I think you’ve out done yourself you come back with something that takes my breath away. Look forward to everything you do. See you in January
Thanks for keeping your sound true to your soul.. so many times we see artist put out material they think commercial outlets want to hear. I understand some of that, but the fans will support true artistry for a life time vs. a flash in the pan. Thanks for not being a sell out.
Hey Boys, do you understand what you’ve just done? You’ve taken 228,000 people to Church!!! When your voices rang out together with the acoustics of the old church. I could hear my Papa singing in harmony with Mama in his little church in Brookshire, Texas. Thank you
As great as this video is, I can’t wait to hear it live! We missed your last Gruene Hall show but when y’all get a hill country gigged lined up I’ll be on it. Folks this band is so damn good live.
I'm a huge fan of yours! Discovered you guys about a year and a half ago when my brother told me to listen to "Coast". This is one of my favorite old country songs, and you guys absolutely nailed it. Come play in Southern California some time, I'd love to see you live!
Fly up to Denver in December, worth the trip. The Ogden Theatre is very intimate and the VIP is worth it. I did it last year, they put on a great show!
It’s the song…not the way we all heard it. Nothing against the Willie Merle version but there’s so much to this song that’s not typically heard in the lyrics. Go listen to Townes sing it. Good job boys!
Just a suggestion because a lot of time things are more clear from an outside perspective: for the vocalizing, just turn the affection a little down and the authentic self a little up. I think you are on your way with this.
This is ok, but it's been done by the best you can hear sing it and it's not easy hearing Lefty and Pancho by Willie Nelson. But Willie would be proud of you guys.. i like y'all's music shane smith and the great saints.. good ol' boys.
Wow! Awesome!. you guys rock. A thumbs up and subscribe from me. Will have to check out your other songs.. I attempted the song also but as a solo e,so not as good as yours! but you can check it out if you'd like. Keep rockin !
My Dad played this song on his guitar. I lived to listen to it. He's been gone 3 years now. This version is the best I've heard next to being able to hear Dad again. Thank you😢.
This is what's missing in today's music. There is so much heart in the way you guys play
Jason Isbell, Tyler Childers, Ryan Bingham the late Justin Townes Earle, Turnpike Troubadours, Arlo McKinley to name a few.
I don’t know how I have never heard of you guys before Yellowstone. You guys are awesome and you have found a fan that is going to stick around for a long long time.
Townes is the greatest American song writer and i love this version
One of my favourite songs. I'm so glad I found this cover. Wow, what a performance. So much heart and soul in this. Well done!
Man that’s good music! You can hear the heart in their music, gotta love it!
Great tribute to the best Texas songwriter to ever live!!
Rest easy TVZ.... rest easy!!

Best version of this song ever done!
Real good country . Great job on this . U guys are incredible 🎸🤠🎙💙
Good catch a show! They are UNBELIEVABLE in concert!!
Saw them some years back. Absolutely killed it. Shane busted a string and restrung without missing a beat during a song...amazing
OMG , a dear friend turned me on to yall. The Highway men would be so proud
Yes, he's got a touch of Waylon in his vocals.
I could hear this everyday of my life!!!
Holy shit!.. I needed this and didn't even know it... (NOT HERE BECAUSE OF YELLOWSTONE!)
been listening to these guys for about 3 years now.. this is absolute 🔥
This is incredible. The song is so good in every version I've heard over the years.
acoustic guitars, great harmony and haunting fiddle work, Hard to get much better!
Florida needs a show soon. Saw Cojo and Koe Wetzel at the Abacoa Amphitheater in Jupiter earlier this year, Shane Smith and the Saints should be next!
Fantastic -Katy Tx
This song is religious in country music. So appropriate in a chapel. Amazing.
Nice setting! Makes me wanna go back to church!
I love this rendition of Townes Van Zandt's song.Beautifully produced and the guitar and fiddle work so well together with the exquisite harmonising. As TVZ may have said:"Thank you for playing a medley of my hit!." Great job.

Thanks for keeping your sound true to your soul.. so many times we see artist put out material they think commercial outlets want to hear. I understand some of that, but the fans will support true artistry for a life time vs. a flash in the pan.

I didn’t think I would ever like this song better than Towne Van Zandt’s version at the Old Quarter, but damn these guys are good.

Will you guys ever make it back to cheatham street?
Hopefully! Love that place
@@shanesmithmusic well this is even better! See y’all at gruene hall and Poteet strawberry festival!!
Went looking for the lyrics only to learn this Is a Willie Nelson song! Great version! Shane Smith and the FKN Saints!
Towns van Zant wrote this beautiful song he was a true American hero that not many had the chance to know died way to soon
Душевно! 👍🏻
Just a suggestion because a lot of time things are more clear from an outside perspective: for the vocalizing, just turn the affection a little down and the authentic self a little up. I think you are on your way with this.
Well I guess between this guy, Jason Boland, Waylon Jennings, Ryan Bingham and Colter Wall it would seem I have a type.
This is ok, but it's been done by the best you can hear sing it and it's not easy hearing Lefty and Pancho by Willie Nelson. But Willie would be proud of you guys.. i like y'all's music shane smith and the great saints.. good ol' boys.
you're kidding right? I love Willie, but that version soiunds like a novelty song compared to this one.
The fiddler really fills out their sound, but why doesn't he ever wear a shirt? Is it to show off those fiddler guns?
Wow! Awesome!. you guys rock. A thumbs up and subscribe from me. Will have to check out your other songs.. I attempted the song also but as a solo e,so not as good as yours! but you can check it out if you'd like. Keep rockin !
I actually like his voice better in the studio. it sounds strange here. Too old or something
Turn off your radio, turn on some Red Dirt.
Damn you just ruined that song...
