I’d buy a DJI Osmo Pro Raw update immediately. Same with a DJI mirrorless camera with L Mount. Besides that, the only camera I’m really excited about is an S1H update.
Same the S1H update is the only potential camera I care about because Panasonic actually knows what tools and functions filmmakers/videographers need to get the job done efficiently. And they actually produce great images with aesthetically pleasing colors, unlike a particular brand leading the market today that everyone insists you shoot with. But they already abandoned and gave up on their Varicam and EVA line, and now I'm afraid they're about to abandon their S1 line and just focus on their prosumer lines like the S5 and G series cameras. I hope I'm wrong.
@@brendanmcnamara7581 Yep. I like them more than anyone else, but they seem to be about done. I still think they'll release high-end models of their Lumix line one more time and then see how it plays out. But I'd love a Lumix-branded cinema camera in the $4k-5k range.
The dji ronin 4 is pretty horrible. You have to have knowledge and skill to operate it. If they were to produce a camera, which I know they have, it will be as good as canon. They have awhile to catch up to Sony or even Panasonic in terms of stabilization and easy user ability
“Why are we still having this conversation in 2025?” Excellent question. The things that seem simple and common sense [posting direct to Instagram/In-cam editing, etc.] for some reason manufacturers can’t seem to figure out.
in terms of the in camera editing, we need the depht information as metadata so all the things you are talking about are drag and drop post effects. imagen if Davinci was able to tap into your cameras depth map on your footage.
In regards to the FX9 replacement....I think the Burano is in a weird place at $25,000 in the year 2025. I feel like that market segment has shrunk dramatically in the past 12 or so years since the days of the F5... It would be very weird if Sony essentially kept the Burano as the true "replacement" of the FX9. Better cameras are getting cheaper and cheaper...and the Burano, as good as it is, is too expensive in this current day market, and it should have been priced at about 10,000 less than what it is now. My hope is Sony is not positioning the Burano to he the FX9s sole replacement. If so, that would be a big mistake in this modern market IMO.
From Panasonic, I would love to see their vision of an "SL3", a high resolution body. And an H (or X, I don't know which one you'll prefer) body with a stacked sensor (global shutter would be better) with 15+ DR. That would be enough to put them in the spotlight.
The obvious release from Canon this year would be the R6 Mark III, hoping that will be early to mid 2025. Would love to see a throwback camera from Canon, similar to what Nikon did with the Nikon Zf. I feel like a full frame camera with similar styling and build to the AE-1 would sell great for Canon. I could also see a successor to the C500 Mark II being announced or released late Q4 2025. With how popular the C400 and C80 has been something like a C600 would slot in nicely in the $12,000 range giving them 3 different price tiered options for their cine line. There has been a lot of speculation about Canon's recent development in Global Shutter sensors, we haven't seen anything from them since the C700GS way back in 2017, but I could see a higher end, lower volume camera like a C600 being a good place to start introducing that type of sensor.
I was really considering the Ronin 4D, what at the end discouraged me was that you can't really lock the axis, so you really have to use the gimbal always. Otherwise I would have bought it, despite the weight. Also tried the FX6 but it felt to old even a year ago for the price. I ended up buying the GH7 for my own projects and renting for bigger projects for now
@patchandy yeah, but there is a little bit of play still. Maybe it was just the demo one from DJI but I wonder if that isn't always the case. Also the folks told me it isn't meant to be used without the motors powered at all. Correct me if I am wrong
@@simon_sky i guess there might be a slight bit of wiggle if you put your hand on it and tried to move it, but why would you? i just lock mine and use it like a regular cam with no problems at all
I liked this episode however I felt like they could’ve done a bit more research and potentially discuss some rumours and announcement. Because it kinda went to political for for my taste.
That new DJI mirrorless full frame camera with an interchangeable mount is a crazy idea? Just asking, because I would like one, even if it is very expensive...
I agree 100% BMD "autofocus" ! AND I think RODE has shown that their ATEM control software needs a major update as well, in fact switching software is the next natural evolution in their ATEM line - (example Tricaster , VMIX, and now ROAD) BlackMagic is way behind in software functionality at this point,
I wanna see DJI do something cool. Cause they seem to be the only ones doing interesting things. None of the other big dogs are really doing anything interesting anymore. More interesting to see what DJI and phones are doing honestly.
You are wrong! With all the advantages of Sigma lenses, I can, although I do not want to, refuse them, since you can choose, maybe not better, but something similar. But I will not refuse the Sigma fp under any circumstances, there is no worthy alternative. I can say more, the fp has everything for practical work, the camera does not require any special improvements. Those who work with it thoughtfully understand this, and the rest ... they just need to improve their skills, and not look for a magic camera)
Guys, what are your predictions? Do you agree with ours?

Internal RAW for all Sony Cinema Line cameras is absolutely essential nowadays.
Spending $5k+ on a camera without raw has been a hard sell for many years now.

Global shutter and 15+ DR is kinda impossible for now atleast now
I'm waiting for a Ronin 4d MK2 love the one we have at work but I want to see if they come out with a global shutter

Lumix has patent a new box style camera, I'm hoping that's the direction they go like Black Magic

Watch for a Canon r6iii to compete against the z6iii. R7 update as well.
a mirrorless camera with a swapble mounts will be freaking big

Why we still can't use bluetooth headphone on camera ? They have bluetooth 💀
I think the long-rumored indie/modded cameras will all be released and find cult followings -- Alt Cine, Nexus, Octopus
You'll see the new DJI mirrorless camera soon
