We had many family holidays to the UK traveling on the Princess of Scandinavia. Great memories. Then came Ryan Air.

Yes, the cheap airlines, death of duty free and European emissions regulations came together to create the perfect storm that killed the North Sea routes. They're greatly missed.

We used to go on the Dana Gloria from Newcastle then I think they changed it to the king of Scandinavia or something similar. Loved the hols in Gothenburg. Can't remember a rainy day. Wish they would bring this route back.

Hi, I sailed on the former Dana Gloria in her King of Scandinavia days between Copenhagen and Oslo. A very nice ship. KIng was sold by DFDS some years ago and in recent years sadly sunk. I wish they would resurrect some of the North Sea routes. Maybe they will now that duty free is back. That was a big earner for them and the loss of duty free contributed to their closure.

Too bad you did not take us for a walk through the engine room.
