These Dodge Trucks 61-71 were second to none . They were easy to work on, lots of room in the engine compartment, spots for tools all over, great reliable 4wd mechanism, which when used in the Mountains these trucks were “Other Worldly“ on the old Jeep trails and mud. powerful engine options, fairly comfortable seating, lots of standard options for the day, the best bed lengths ever!!!Great trucks👍
Those old time Dodge trucks seemed much more reliable than the ones of today. If we got one of those back in 65, my siblings and I would have fought over who gets to ride with Dad in the truck. ALAN
We all know Dodge had some great engines but dang, that truck has a face only a mother could love! I enjoyed the video, it the kind of stuff I liked as a kid. thanks for posting!
Angry red banjo playeer.Well I think it's not appealing to some because it's more of man's truck than a Ford is which has softer styling trying to be a car
Dyno Don yeah right; If my '64 Dodge requires any service, except for upholstery, I can fix or repair my truck bumper-to-bumper and everything in between. I've added power steering, power disc brakes & radials for safety & comfort. Modern trucks have no style; they look lame as he!! & have zero (as in none) kool factor. Ya might as well own a prius
Ford and Chevy/GMC get all the interest, but Dodge can be had at a bargain - some could get giant 383, and 413 V8s. The Power Wagons, are still legendary 4wds!
As a Mopar fan, I must honestly say this truck promo is ridiculous. First comparing this more than overly Spartan cab to that of a car is insane. The front is so goofy with those deer in the headlights, mom caught me beating off look, you just want to like it. An armrest, cigar lighter, and visor make it car like. Lol
I agree this nose on the 65’ was the ugliest ever in the sweptlines. I like the 69-71’ noses better, they were Meaner looking and added something more to the look ...
I'd take this way over a Ford with it's crappy twin eye beam , and lame FE motors that out weighed a big block Mopar and about half as much horsepower.
Beauty, simple, plain, efficient 👍

I like the 62-65 dual headlight setup better
This trucks makes more sense than todays.
NeilLB7 How do you figure? Trucks today are far better in every way.
Dyno Don except in simplicity

@@melrose9252 but they are better and you can´t say nothing just shut up
Wish I had one of these just as it came of the showroom floor.

It’s funny but where I’m at the dodges are very rare while Ford is the most common.
Make mine with the 318 and 4 on the floor. I'll take the standard trim and painted grill.
I liked the gear shift on the dash to the right of the steering wheel! Never saw that before!!!
They were great rigs
Any other Mopar fans notice that the wheel covers 2:08 are the EXACT same as those on the '55 Plymouths?
Thumbs Up and liked ! I have a 68 Camper special
I got a 66 love it
Great American trucks back then
Their nothing like a MOPAR RULES!
When Trucks weren’t overpriced with unnecessary luxuries !!!! Spray in bed liners would have been a great option back then
Pretty sure mine was one of the cheapest back in the day with painted grill and being a short bed
Dodge 1966 la mejor pickup la más bonita.
Love me Love my dodge
The soundtrack in this filmstrip was used in one of those old driver ed films...anyone know?
This would be a "late" 65, the early 65s were the same as 64.
The 66 and 67 were identical in front grill and headlight area. The 65 had two headlights. I think this promo was done in 65 for the new 66.
@@teddymuckey9585 Early 65s had a different grille with 4 headlights, they were changed at midyear.
Did the 65 the only ones with those big headlights ??
Till 67
I thought Dodge was a great name. Versus Ram. Ugh.
D-700? I wonder how they are classified as.
Iam sold in 202w were can I buy 💯
now they have to put wheels that stick a half foot outside the body panels
this is military truck in 1965 it was used to kill 6 general 1 commissioned officer

Had one, great truck, but rusted extremely bad.
All trucks were rusters at that time, unfortunately.
