- World War 2 - The Call of Duty - Ep. 20 - Liberty, Equality and Fraternity (COLOURISED) with Liam Dale (Jul - Sep 1944)
Directed and narrated by Liam Dale
As the summer of 1944 approached, the tide of World War II was turning decisively in favor of the Allies. Following pivotal victories in North Africa, the successful invasion of Sicily, and key landings at Salerno and Anzio, the German grip on Italy was beginning to crumble. Meanwhile, in the east, the Soviet forces were advancing relentlessly, closing in on Germany after their triumph at Stalingrad the previous year.
In the Pacific, the relentless Allied push against the Japanese, key members of Hitler’s Axis powers, was also gaining strength.
Most notably, Operation Overlord-culminating in the historic D-Day landings of June 6th-had exceeded all expectations. The successful invasion of Normandy was a strategic and tactical victory that set the stage for the liberation of Western Europe and reinforced Allied confidence under the leadership of General Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Color makes these films more memorable. Thank you.
Another good mark on your report card Liam. Thx.
Is there going to be an "World War 1 - A Call to Duty" colorized 24 part series in the future, Liam?
It's a good thought.. but the footage just isn't out there for 24 hours. Did you know that there were more than 50 (FIFTY) film couples/crews on the beaches at Normandy.. Hence I was able to well cover the landings.. Sadly, we can't manage that for WW1.. but thanks for asking.. all the best.. Liam Dale
@@liamdaletv there's definitely enough footage for 24 hours of world war 1 in color.
