  • CZ has a reputation for making some of the most accurate 22s that are out there. I’ve been wanting one of these models for quite a while, starting with the 452, then the 455, now what they consider to be the pinnacle of this line: the 457
    Naturally we’ll post a shooting video in the near future, but for today we just wanted to admire the quality and workmanship coming out of the CZ factory in the Czech Republic. I hope you enjoy

    CZ all the way!
    After I got my cz 452 in 22LR, my Ruger 10/22 never saw the range and I sold it

    Thanks for explaining the various models! I was a little confused and like the simple trainer.

    I have the 452 version of this. I got rid of my other 22LR rifles after getting that one, because I liked it so much. Mine and a buddy's prefer the Federal Champion ammo.

      I’ll have to give that ammo a try when I can find some

    For a beach stock it looks pretty good. I've never been a big fan of checkering anyway. I would like a plain non checkered walnut. As far as scope mounting, the butt stock should work just fine. Nice plinking/hunting rifle.

    I bought a cz 452 training rifle about 15 years ago for $300. Best firearm purchase I've ever made! I should have bought three of them. Considering a similar rifle in .22 WMR. Open sights are awesome-even with aging eyes.

    I've got the lux that I scoped. Action is very smooth, adjustable trigger. Pricey but a fine rifle. Accuracy is excellent with the right ammo.

    CZ's are great rifles. I have the CZ American in .22 LR and the .17 HMR barrel for it only cost $150.00 bucks, so it was well worth purchasing the easily change out barrel instead of spending another $569.00 for another rifle. 2 fantastic rimfire calibers in one beautiful and beautifully functioning tack driver.

    I've owned my 452 for several years I put a ghost ring on the rear sight and narrowed the front post........ I've never owned a 22 that made me happier it's a great little rifle. I would suggest the standard magazine cause a 10 round interferes with one handed field carry.

    IIRC my Varmint .22 barrel (Bought the .17) cost abut $200. About 15-20 minutes to switch.

    I hate to say that the sayer is in error. This item is not drilled for permanent mounts. It is actually part of a proprietary cz system to resist recoil if you buy there bases.

    Why don't you like Turkish Walnut? I'll take that over Beech any day of the week.

    • @drdrake63
      @drdrake63  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To each their own right?
      Typically, Turkish walnut is stained too dark for my liking. I much prefer English, French or American walnut

    Pretty sure CZ says it's ok to dry fire these however I don't do it either, yellow drywall collars for safety.

    • @wbwills2
      @wbwills2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yellow drywall collar?how that go?

    • @davidp5229
      @davidp5229 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wbwills2 Seems to be ok, the collar on the open end of the anchor absorbs the firing pin strike, you'll see the "dent" in the plastic.

    Dont know where you are attaining the rifles so cheap that they are as much as a gun. The CZ 457 near me is running $550.00 and up depending. The new barrels for the training rifle without the open sights is $139.00 on the cz site. That is a lot less than a rifle. The barrels with those mauser type sights are $199.00. You can get aperture sights for a cz also on the internet. Good for training new shooters. Aperture sights, Open sights and scope. Good for teaching new shooters.

      Yep! lol. That's what I said too. I have the CZ American in .22 LR that I purchased this year in 2023 and even with all the Biden-inflation, the .17 HMR barrel for it only cost $150.00 bucks, so it was well worth purchasing the easily change out barrel instead of spending another $569.00 for another rifle. 2 fantastic rimfire calibers in one beautiful and beautifully functioning tack driver.
