Saw this video way back when I first started Crossfit. Revisiting it five years later and it still is just as informative for me now as it was then. Great work!!
On a pistol squat, I can get my hip below the knee with the foot flat and get back up if I have a 10 pound weight in my hands to counter balance. Even though it's 10 more pounds to push, it's easier because I'm positioned better. Without the weight, I fall back or go on my toe, which seems to indicate I have to work on ankle dorsiflexion. That two feet together squat seems like a good one to do regularly to get those ankles bending properly.
I did not have the strength in my left leg to do the 'foot off the ground' version at first due to an MCL sprain - I did reps of the easier option last night - this morning the strength was there to do the next step - winning. Hopefully pistols will rehab my knee!
