In the modern times. Having no money, the government will bully you in many forms. They will assert financial force on you in many forms. So having friends or no friends is another many issues we have to deal with is so stressful why many in big cities commit suicide because they cannot cope with stress and depression. So all people have to find their basic figure to survive their priority

@@rinreborn7364 yup. Im very thrifty with phones too. But the plus is, the money we dont waste meant that the last time my phone starts getting hard to use, I can immediately buy another phone, cash, without worrying. Oh and I bought a new phone but previous years model. No difference in quality, yet cheaper. Its only not-latest-model, thats all. And due to how tech advances so fast, this phone im using is like miles ahead in capabilities compared to my old phone and half the price. Old phone samsung galaxy iirc was at RM800 at that time, and new phone was A3S at RM 400. Makes me wonder though. That probably has to do with his age.
Older generation are not very tech savvy and most are not into electronic hardware. The smart phones cultural appeal is fully geared towards youth and the young with apps like tinder, grab, food panda, games etc etc.
The fact that older generation are a demography totally ignored by mobile phone marketing and advertisment campaigns should tell us something.
Whether the older generation earn 500k year or are retired, we will rarely see one of them stand in line the whole night before the iphones latest launch.

It's not the they're don't want to save, it's because they don't have disposable income to save.
Malaysian salary barely increase in more than 10 years. Some didn't even get 5% increment yearly, for comparison the price of bread increase from 90cent to RM1 this december that is a 10% increase, therefore whoever didn't get 10% increment this year is basically getting a pay cut whenever they buy bread.

Those millennials are living for the moment.. If you have a problem with their lifestyle, than you gotta think of you priorities then. Stop judging and seeing things only through your perspective lenses. Some people are happy spending their money away. Expensive cars, but renting still. If they’re happy, let them be. It’s their money anyways. There’s a saying. “Don’t die rich” , heard of that?.. in the end, everyone is different.

But these ppl willingly pay 80k+ interest with new vios or city.
If my math aren't wrong, 80k is 25months of my savings. In simple English, if u buy a car without loan, I need to work 25months for it.
Imagine spending 2 months of salary on iPhone here, 1 month of iPad there, another 5minth of salary on new 72 inch TV.
People will spend 5 to 7 years of their salary buying things that depreciate ON INTEREST.
If u put into perspective on everything u buy into working hours, u will realize how dumb certain purchases are.
5.2k translate to about rm30 hourly wage for me. Now suddenly u will feel even being a median income earner feels poor.
So I don't know how can people be happy keep on working just to get stuck with depreciating gadgets.

@@Latiosx123 i agree on budgeting with consideration.. if you live in kl, 6k is just enough to life an ok life la. But buying branded cars, branded phones, that just a waste.. I'm only a year younger but a fresh graduate, so need to plan things right to not only pay my student loans, but also taking some takaful for retirement fund and learning about investment. Cause doing side gig pun doesn't necessarily help.

@@hafizatulsufiahyaacob5186 I would say the hardest part is even allocating money to save.
Fresh earn about 2 to 3k. That's almost basic necessity needed to survive.
Is very very hard to cut down spending below 2k realistically.
As salary rises in your 20s, the additional salary must be stay put to long term investment, young money is more valuable than money when u old.
U will have to be living like a broke fresh grade despite salary increase and doing it until u are in mid 30s.
Thats means, marriage, car, houses, vacation, gadgets have to be spend at minimal or none at all. I would even have to resort to not going put often for restaurants and Cafe.
I'm basically a loner, so I find no going our cinemas, Cafe and restaurants really easy. I drive a beat up car and stay with parents. All the qualities of a 'loser'
But if can endure such prejudice by peers, in less than 10 years you will be way better off then them.

@@Latiosx123 i already live my life as hikikomori (basically a recluse) for two years before furthering my study and learn the hard way to not give a shit about people opinion. I currently stay in my parent home cause she's already old. I'm about to start my first job, with an ok salary in my hometown ( but currently have covid, so may need to postpone my first day working). I go to work by motorcycle cause I hate driving and probably would buy car after I finish my student loans payment, and only buy secondhand car cause i don't need new one, just functional.. movies tu ok la, i can go. But for vacay and stuff, well, i planned to save for Hajj so travel might need to hold.

This feels like I'm being attacked. I used to do honest work. I mean, work wholeheartedly to the best of my ability everytime i get a job or anything. Between work and juggling my mental health (I've been depressed for more than 9 years), people treat me like shit. I've always tried my best to be kind and be open and learn. Guess what? I've been ridiculed, stomped on, and thrown out like garbage. That's not the best part, I've always been the black sheep. The guy that never fights back (i literally can't. My brain wouldn't let me I'm depressed ffs). And I've recently found out that for all those times, I've been paid way less than other people. I sure "love" people. "Friends" regularly stab me in the back. I have no choice, this is what life handed to me, i have to accept it. Its quite funny because i know the worst it yet to happen. This country and its people have been brainwashed to adopt a twisted mindset. I see no hope but i sure am glad people like you exist. Reminds me of myself as a kid. Filled with hope and enthusiasm.
