To get to the cup (top) of Monte Brè, Pasturenzi and I bought two round-trip RailAway tickets in a cumulative service from Chiasso which includes: SBB train, funicular from Lugano railway station to the historic centre, trolleybus to Cassarate and funicular in two sections. If you arrive from Menaggio via Porlezza, from the Cassarate terminus to the valley station of the funicular it takes only a few steps to walk. Don't forget powerful binoculars!

funicular to Monte Brè (2 single-track sections with Abt-type switches without needles at the central doubling): how many know that the famous Genoese Righi funicular takes its name from the Swiss Rigi rack railway? The pronunciation is identical.
Minute 2:28 For authentic baked lasagna with ragout alla bolognese, from Milano Centrale you have to take a Frecciarossa train and get off at Bologna Centrale. The lasagna sold in other regions or autonomous provinces is absolutely not up to the task.

Can you guide us on how to check if any of the cruise is cover under Swiss travel pass?
There is no need to check. All cruises are covered by the swiss travel pass! That’s the reason why you pay an arm and a leg for it! 🤣

@@xiangyoutay1220Comrade, actually in the evening races with dinner on board, music and so on, it's not worth a damn. Neither nor are free tickets from the FIP and the like accepted. An obligatory stop is Campione d'Italia, an Italian exclave surrounded by Swiss territory.

Right next to the train station
Navigation company on Lake Maggiore (Verbano): intermediate stops are allowed only on the Swiss basin, such as with trains and postal buses; on the Italian basin, once disembarked, the single journey ticket is no longer of any value and is non-refundable, the same with long-distance Italian trains. On the Locarno - Domodossola railway, in order to get on and off as you please in international traffic, you need a ticket at the FFS rate; the "Tourist" ticket allows one stop only.

500? They give change without blinking an eye. It’s normal for locals to use large cash denominations here
hi, nice to see your itinerary, i would like to ask how and where to buy the half - fate card? is it necessary for me to buy that card, since i will stay only for 2 days in Lugano, october 7-9, 2023..

If it’s only two days probably not as u will alr have the free Ticino card provided by the hotel and u will get free bus and train transport within Lugano and the surrounding cities. U will also get a 20% discount for mountain excursions to monte bre/ San Salvatore etc.

Lugano is not the capital of Ticino! This is Bellinzona
