I agree as well, I have Custom Dynamics all over my RGS. I purchased the windshield trim LED's from Revzilla and the screws were missing from the package so I called Revzilla and they wanted me to return everything and wait at least 10 days to get a new one when all I needed was the screws so I called Custom Dynamics directly and they sent me the screws, Very nice people and great support.
That is awesome! I mean that sucks that RevZilla did that but so proud to hear that about Custom Dynamics!! They truly have their customers back!!
I don’t blame Revzilla it’s the process for a return I just didn’t want to wait so I called Custom Dynamics and they sent me the screws at no cost. They made a believer out of me and I will recommend them to everyone.
I respect the fact you straight up say you are sponsored and you like them also. Your running them which does also say alot...Lights mean safety for you and wife. Much respect. Oh and they need to give you some swag to give away...lol ok thats just me wanting free lights. Ride safe

Ok, for those asking about the hole and grommet on the latch side. Just get the extra 3 wire grommet from CD and use it. The hole does seems larger than the one in the video, but it will work and is not really too large. I did mine that way and in worked just fine. Hope this helps.

Ordered a Triple Play Module for my E-Glide Standard, received the unit within 2-3 days, tried to instal but it didn't work, called Custom Dynamics who tried to troubleshoot over the phone, they couldn't get it to work either, they sent me a new part, no questions asked, installed the new part and it worked like a charm, hell, they even sent me a envelope and a shipping label so I could return the original back to them...Great customer service, for sure.
Thanks for the video, I went with your extra grommet install it's much cleaner, they really should incorporate this method, 2 extra gromets vs that cushion should break their bank

Agree, they are the best lighting. Think the fact that is all the do and their dedication is huge.
They are the lighting company that we only want on our bike! The LEDs don’t look like Christmas lights for one & they have the dedication in their products

What size hole and grommet did you do behind the latch (approximately 7:30 in to the video)?
I run an auto repair, and guaranteed the wire ran over the edge wouldn't have lasted 2 months before these 2 edges cut that wire. Notify RI and tell them to fix the directions. I also have a 19 rg so i plan on getting these. They look badass

What size drill bit did the mechanic use for drilling the hole under the latch? I was thinking about putting a set on my bike, but didn't like how the wiring was supposed to be routed under the lid, were you brought up a good point about the wires always getting pinched.
Im going to add the latch lights, also going to use your idea of the wire routing . What size bit and what size grommet did you use? TIA
I have CD LED lights in my rear fender, rear running, brake, signal lights, antenna hole lights, and windshield trim. I have a set of the grill lights on order and as soon as they have them back in inventory going to order a set of their latch lights. I have run their lighting for years without an issue.
That is one thing we love about their products... years without issue & the LEDs have a lifetime warranty!!
A little more detail on the wiring would have been nice. I have two sets to install next week.
Looks great , by installing these lights can the saddlebags still come off easily or do you need to take the seat off to disconnect them?
Nice video guys, question... Custom Dynamics suggests a 9/16 hole in the saddle bag, I think that is a bit too much? and on your video it seems a lot smaller and I will also want to to do the whole behind the latch rather than having the cable over the edge, don't think 9/16 would even fit there. What size grommet and drill bit do you suggest? Thanks!

Did you use the lighting module for the blades or for the bag handle light?
I wish I had seen this video before I installed my latch lights. I wired mine the prescribed way over the lip of the bag. Drilling through the bag behind the latch here is a much cleaner way to go.
It seemed like a cleaner look in our opinion but regardless... the latch lights are awesome!! One of the best accessories that we add!!
@@TheOrneryOne I agree on both counts. I have a black FLHXS so I was worried about being seen at night. The latch lights definitely help - so much that I'm going to get the amber lights to replace the fork reflectors too. As for a cleaner look, I just picked up some plastic wire channel from the hardware store, painting it satin black, and using it for routing the wires (I also have Custom Dynamics' interior saddlebag lights) to clean things up more.
I purchased and installed the smoke saddlebag latch lightz over the week end, used the Denny's install tip and drilled through the bag and added a grommet to get the wire inside the bags, that was a great tip and a much cleaner install. Maybe Custom Dynamics should change the instructions and add two more grommets to the kits??
Did you use the same size grommet on the front of the bag as well? If not, what size grommet did you use?
Also interested in what size grommet you used behind the latch.

I love CD as well! But not everything is plug and play. I installed all CD turn signals and just installed dual brake/turn lights, with modulator. Not working correctly so I’m going to call CD and see if they can help fix .

I am going to do the same and drill a hole to run the wire and not run it over the top. I can see the wire getting pinched in two after time.

Ornery One, Just did the BBB in Arkansas recently. I had these saddlebag lights installed on my 17 RGS. Great add-on. I thought they were going to be run/turn only,, I was pleasantly surprised that they are run/turn/and Brake. Super bright. My question is I want to take off my bags and detail them but am not sure how to disconnect them. I don't want to screw it up. How do you unclip the plug? I should have had the installer show me how easy it is. Dawg from Columbia, Mo..
Yes for me, I have a clip that I unplug that is between the saddlebags & the frame of the bike. I would definitely check to see where your clip connector is located. We did it this way so that I can take the saddelbags off very easy with just unclipping the connectors.

Hell yeah!! We have had two other brands on our bike and you can see who we decided to go with. You have followed us this past year right? You would know the other two brands. 😁😁 one looks like Christmas lights & the other is well... just bad. Lol

No, they are ran inside the saddlebags as well. You can’t see any of the wires. 😁⚡️😁

CD sells a harness that turns the single connector into a triple. CD-BCM-PLUG-EXT

Just picked up a set of latch lights and rear saddlebag lights. How did you connect them both to the harness? Do they have to be spliced to work with the existing rear brake/signals?

Every video I watch with every light installed with custom dynamics where it says plug-and-play nobody ever shows the plug part that’s the most difficult part if you ask me. Why doesn’t anybody ever show the wiring part

Yes! We had a different brand. In our opinion.... are not as high quality!!

Probably not the right place but I need some help. How can I make my pipes louder without losing back pressure? I have the cane and Hines super radius. I took the baffles out but it had almost no back pressure at idle.
how do you know you have no back pressure at idle? Go study back pressure. youll be fine.

I have a broken wire on my CD latch light. How do I repair?
Figured out what the problem was. Three broken wires at the base of the light. I suggest not running wires over top of the bag as recommended by CD.
