In this world of watered-down, soulless, Clapton/Thorogood yuppie bar-blues crap that's taken over the world, it's good to know that someone out there STILL GETS IT. Someone truly understands what the blues really is all about and plays it properly, and beautifully. And by a woman? Buttercream icing on cake, baby. You rule, girl. Don't stop.
Nicely done. As someone who picked up this music -- and I keep trying to -- in the 1970s, it is really gratifying to see young folks keep this great music going. Great picking!
TH-cam is what MTV should have turned into, instead of the "Great Bimbo Show". Thank God for the internet. Just came across this talent today. So many great artists out there. I watch music on youtube more than anywhere else. Keep cranking them out Christine. You've got one new fan here....Love yer stuff....
It is so important that people with your high level of talent preserve this music. You are great. You provide an entry point that is so much more accessible to many people - more accessible than the great original recording. Unfortunately, I came to the blues late. My entry points were Stevie Ray, Howlin' Wolf, and Buddy Guy. Your delivery/voice of "Last Kind Words" knocks me out. Please, please keep it going. You have the goods.
I agree. This is world class talent. It should be heard on a world class scale. I don't listen to anything but the best, and she's one of the best I've ever heard. Not only that, but she writes good stuff too. But the voice. It's otherworldly perfect matched with her guitar accompaniment. I really, really wish she had a album that I could listen to.
oh lordy lord. I have never posted on a vid before. I've been singing blues my whole life and I'm finally trying to get my guitar playing up to a performable level. I found you searching John Hurt, and have watch several of your vids, and you blow me away. If I ever get my playing up to your level I'll be a very happy girl. Thanks for being an inspiration!
I'll go with her, I'll follow her, I will, to her buryin' place I'll go with her, I'll follow her, I will, to her buryin' place Hang my head and cry, friend, I will, as she passed away Hang my head and cry, friend, I will, as she passed away I thought I should go, friend, please run, try to call her back I thought I should go, friend, please run, tried to call her back 'Cause that sure is one woman I did love and like For that sure is one woman I did, I did love and like I believe I'll go home, friend, and duly dress myself in black I believe I'll go home, friend, and duly dress myself in black Show to the world I wants her, but I can't get her back Show to the world I wants her, but I can't, I can't get her back Every time I hear that lonesome church bell ring Every time I hear that lonesome church bell ring It makes me think about that song my baby used to sing It makes me think about that song my baby used to sing Lord have mercy on me
My first comment in TH-cam ever (or second...). I love your steady going beat, your voice and the whole package. Been listening to it over and over, looking your fingers and trying to learn it. I really appreciate your work and wonder how a young girl is so interested in old country blues, my favorite music.
im 24 ive been playing this music for a while now.... this singing and playing is incredibly soulful...thank you so much for playing and posting most of these songs so that we can see what you're doing! keep it up
Ok.......it's taken me over a week to decide and I've gone through all of your posts many times, but this one is my favorite so far. It was playing in my head when I woke up this morning. I can't wait to hear your next choice.
I agree the best female blues singer on TH-cam
I wish she would just log in one day and see how much she is missed. She really has mastered the feel of this era.
Makes you wonder why she doesn't. She's almost cult.
I always revisit you Christine, ten years or better. We all love you. Please play some more.
Wow. Thank you so much. The brightest point in my day was discovering this.
Unknown legend.
Still watching in 2022, still think you're awesome 👌
Probably the best female blues player on utube. And I’ve watched a lot of em! Truly Awesome!!!!!!!
She's really good...a pity she is not uploading since 7 years ago
Indeed.
Love how she sings like herself and not an imitation of someone else, great player too...

That's the question. One of the best female blues players I've ever heard, really.
