Correction on the intro part: They NEVER had 17 members. During training period, some came as some go. The most they had was 16 (but 1 of them was on temporary leave then). So~ ignore that info and just remember the actual and official 13members + 3units + 1team = SEVENTEEN to avoid confusion :)

Thank you. I was going to say the same thing. And it's not just this guide, It's a widespread false information that's been said pretty much since they debuted. Even AleXa, a Kpop singer, said the whole "There used to be 17 members but some left before debut" during like an interview or radio show. It's sad that it's been 6 years and so many people still think that's the "real" reason behind their name.
But still, aside from that, this guide is still one of the best ones out there. It's a nice blend of informative while being entertaining and easy to digest. And most of the information is still good. :)
Right I heard it was meant to be their average age when the debuted.
This guide specifically mentioned that they were supposed to debut with 17 members which isn’t wrong. I heard abt them trying to debut with 17 members and 17 as average age not sure if it’s true though.
erm i dont think so cause if u watch them in seventeen tv there is 17 member and seventeen tv actually is like a survival show. 4 of them left, doyoon want to pursue his dream to become an actor which is he already debut as an actor rn. Mingming went to China and some people said he already debut in idk what group. Dongjin left cause in the past there were a rumor about him had a gf which is its ban to dating while u are a trainee. And then samuel cause his mom said he was to young to debut with svt n now a soloist. in conclusion yes there are supposed to debut with 17 member.
@@nramalyna Mingming participated on MIXNINE, a survival program placing in 10th place. He was also a member of the boy group BLK which disbanded on September 17, 2018.
In January 2019, he participated in the survival program "Qing Chun You Ni." where Minghao is in as a Dance Mentor I believe. In the finale, he placed 3rd and debuted as a member of UNINE, which disbanded in October of 2020. Then after that, he debuted as a soloist with a new stage name.

(probably the best alternative if you'd prefer a shorter one? I'd probably rec this rather than the *subpar* one)
*a helpful guide to seventeen - hansolix | 23mins*
*a decent guide to seventeen -「cxyc 晓雅」| 30ish mins*

You did very well in remembering Seventeen! There’s a lot of names to remember and I know you’ve gone through Nct but it’s still very hard to learn Seventeen’s names.

You're doing great!!! Until this day I can't choose which unit is my fave unit. Sometimes I think is the hip hop unit, sometimes the performance then the vocal .. I can't ahaha I have a Bias on each unit so it's pretty difficult to choose. What about you??? Do you think some unit is calling your attention or is better to wait until you know them better? I would say I'm between hip hop and performance unit but there is Seungkwan, Woozi, and Dk SO I can't ajaj. Oh my bias are Scoups, Hoshi and Seungkwan.
