yeah i'm planning on uploading multiple videos each week, it was just a little busy with new patch release right now next video should be upload tonight
I really love avenging Vastaya. Yes, I despise denys, but that's because there's literally jack shit you can do outside of just play into them and hope they use it. With avenging, first up its telegraphed that it might be there, secondly you can just force the issue with like... Mystic shot. Or a challenger. What's more, it actually does what I think a deny should do - it defends your board. I really hate how in control, deny spells are just "Lol you aren't allowed to do anything". I wish they would just remove the deny spells and stick to these "deny but with counterplay" things. I always despise when counterplay to a card is "Just play better than your opponent lol" - as if that's somehow good game design.
Agreed! That's why I like both Oracle and Vastaya, I really hope Deny and Rite get rotated in exchange for those filling the role in Shurima and Ionia now.
@@athenabrown3117 Yeah I'm an Ionia player (Master Yi deck, not Karma coin mafia) and I also hate deny mainly because I dont feel like outsmarting the opponent at all, either I have deny or don't have deny.
On the flip side, Avenging Vastaya also puts a 3/3 blocker with spell shield on the board (while Rite forces you to kill one of your blockers), and its deny can't be denied back 'cause it's burst speed. It costs 1 more mana than Rite and you have to preemtively set it up, but you can also bait your opponent into wasting even more resources on it by denying damage on it with cards like Prowl. And dedicated decks can bluff it anyway. And, well, if people are running it _instead_ of Rite, it must mean something. It's difficult to say which one is stronger. One thing I'm sure about is that having both in Standard is fairly oppressive.
Avenging vastaya is the best negate for shurima even better than rite of negation, the only problem is that you have to play it before the spells but that's it. It's a 5 mana negate but unlike rite you don't give up one of your Manas for the next rounds, literally one of the best designed card in this game
I made a similar deck, but I dropped Tycoon for the Pairofant and Darkin Aegis for Curse of the Tomb since the deck felt way too dependent on the champions and sometimes you can surprise the opponent by doubling the damage of Overwhelm. Gotta say Nidalee is struggling a bit to level up, mostly because you usually play 1 unit per turn and\or you need the mana to use other spells (making unit survive damage or comboing). It's a fun deck to play in Elo Master, at least for me.
big fan of finding room for curse of the tomb, that's a great inclusion. big game tycoon performed extremely well for me though, not sure if i'd cut it personally
Kinda sad you didn’t use that new landmark from the nidalee package, do you think it’s that bad when this deck seems like it synergism’s perfectly with it
It’s just a really bad card despite having awesome flavor. Even if it was grant vulnerable instead of give, it would just be too slow when you can get Nidalee or ATT on the board instead and start actually progressing your gameplan.
i played this card in another video and tried it again for this one. it is absolute garbage, one of the worst cards printed recently imo effect is only for 1 turn, drawing multiple landmarks is awful, takes an action so its predictable ,etc. it's serious trash
Sump Monument IS a problem, because it's a card type that is very difficult to remove, is very cheap to cast, and buys one, two, sometimes even THREE turns for combo decks to go off. That's not okay. There shouldn't ever be a card that says "Remove me directly or you cannot kill your opponent".
Do you think Siren Song after the nerf will lose the bad reputation it got from its first iteration, or will people still hate 1 drop decks running it?
I was about to win with this deck against a Targon PnZ Elusive pile, then they played Sump Monument, got 2 extra turns and killed me with Elusive spam, that card is already a problem
I'm sure the reason why you can't play more than 1 ambush unit is because of the Tycoon. It's the kind of unit where you always want to remove it or just GG
If you had cataclysm the Jaral you would have made the coin cost tos high for the opponent to play his overwhelm stance? And you would have won with 2nd cataclysm the next turn?
in the intro, your voice in the background (stream) is muted, I can only hear the game audio and your overlay narration, does that mean that the audio of the game and your stream is separately recorded?
I tried to make a Varus/Ornn deck, but I failed at it. Ended up opting for Riven instead of Ornn, but I couldn't refund the Ornn cards I bought as I had already tried it... How did you make it work?
@@DamonDraven CUBACBQBBMAQMDAJAYAQGAIZAEDAEIQBAYDQKAIHAEEQIBQBBEJBYIQFAEAQCBAUCYVAIAIFAEHACBQAAYBQCAIKFE4AGBQBAUNSQ That's my deck list. You can switch out some of the higher cost units cause Orn and revna is strong enough as a finisher. I'll probably add some more lost cost defensive spells.
I definitely dont care about darkness being good. I rather have that way more than seraphine and other recent (looking at you samira and karma)meta decks. Darkness for me is very tame compared to those
watching game 1 & 2 is so frustrating man he makes so many sub-optimal plays that doesn't deserve to win. 1 example: 4:50 - instead of pulling the 2/1 with his 5/4 he pulls with nidalee that has no chance of dying anyway.
??? it's 5 more damage to the nexus lmao i know exactly what deck i'm playing against and the only way for them to beat me is sett's showstopper if you're gonna backseat at least get it right man
@@Snnuy Attacking with Baccai as last, form up on nidalee so you can spear at face could have been a lethal way too or am I missing something. Either way the odds were heavily on your side with that board and only a miracle could have saved the enemy in my opinion. Hence why they surrendered.
Why are most Lor streamers saying we instead of I. For example: ,,I win next turn'' turns to ,,We win next turn''. It's not like somone else is playing the game. Can somone explain this to me?
Might be the same reason why sport fans say "we won" instead of "they won". I guess it's to make the audience feel like they're part of the game, as we're probably rooting for the streamer.
I dont like this meta tbh. There are too many people playing buried in ice and vengeance that just stops the opponent from playing. Both in casual and in rank.
I'm sorry man but i was screaming at my screen during the Udyr game. At 23:40 you're going to lose without a doubt if you don't kill that Udyr that turn, yet you choose to summon the all terrain trooper and pull the Udyr with it, giving your opponent an out with health buffs. Just pull Udyr with Nidalee and cataclysm the Jack after. You accomplish the same thing and pretty much instantly win the game off that play cuz of how much was poured into the dyr. Yes it loses to freeze but every play you have there loses to freeze there, with the play made being so painfully bad it hurts. Then after the loss, it's b lamed on not drawing well, which was even more frustrating. I'm not trying to be a hater here, but I've noticed a lot of your videos have misplays in them that could be avoided if you just slow down a little bit. You play so fast and make so many mistakes as a result then chalk them up to to being "unlucky".
With all due respect, I know Freljord decks, I'm playing standard, and there's no chance in hell I'm playing around double Troll gifts. It's the only way for that to get +4+4. Removing both their units would guarantee me the win. There's an argument for keeping mana open for Cataclysm, but that loses to a freeze all the same and it would make it so that I don't have mana open for Form up. All things considered, this gave me the best options to WIN the game instead of playing to stall and potentially lose to the jack anyway. I get that to the play you had was different than mine, but it being so painful it hurts is a stretch when you look at the mana I had available.
@@Snnuy I think that's fair and agree tht the only "true" misplay (at least imo) was playing the trooper and going under cataclysm. It got lost my original comment but my frustration came more from the the fact that you seemed to just slam down the trooper without stopping to consider other options, like holding up mana for cata. I'm not in your head so I can't say what your thought process was, maybe you thought it through and felt the 5 extra damage to face was worth the risk, and just didn't state it, all well and good, but cuz you didn't state it, that's not how it came across in the vid. I've been subbed for a decent amount of time, since you were around 3-4k subs and I've seen your play improve, pretty considerably from the early days but for a little bit now, at least imo your play has gotten a lot faster and sloppier and when misplays are made there is much less "oh i messed that up" and much more "I got unlucky" or "opponent high rolled" which is something i personally dislike a lot. It's why i stopped watching Kripp back in the HS days and why i enjoy Grapplr, cuz even though he does dumb stuff and misplays, he pretty quickly acknowledges if he messed up even if it involves jokingly calling the entire chat papayas and explains his choices otherwise. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, or maybe I'm the only one who cares about stuff like this, take it however you like, but that's just my 2 cents. Also if you took the time to read this whole, long thing , even if your disagree, thanks.
I appreciate the support and I am always trying to improve, but I also feel like this is a bit misleading because I will very often own up to a misplay when I'm streaming. The difference is that this was recorded without a live audience so there was nobody to call out potential misplays.
The other day someone asked if you thought streamers were ruining card games. I think it's more accurate that deck codes have ruined any creativity in deck building. Everyone plays the exact same lists they copied from either a top player or a streamer. I never see interesting homebrews. Today, the first opponent I played against used this exact list, less than 2 hours after the video was posted. Two days ago, the second game I played was against the Kayle/Samira deck - the same day you posted it. I love your content, but I wish the community wouldn't be so cringe.
