If I am wrong, I apologize. What concerns me is Rufus is healthier and much stronger than Jarang. I'm thankful Summer was right there to pull off Rufus from Jarang. It was play, I'm sure, but Jarang is at an unfair disadvantage. With all of that straw and Rufus on top of him, Jarang could have smothered. I have been supporting Jingga for quite a while now. I don’t know where she was but this was just a small view of the interaction so I am not judging. I was concerned for Jarang as I watched this. Jarang cannot defend himself right now. The hernias are still there and along with his other health problems, impeding his movement. We are all touchy about this situation. I am not Jingga bashing or Blackpool bashing. What I saw did concern me. Summer pulled Rufus off Jarang a couple times thankfully. She was right there supervising their play. I was concerned for Jarang.
I do hope they fix Jarang’s hernia soon. Rufus is months younger than his brother and is already ahead of him physically. If I didn’t know better I would believe they were the same age. From what I’ve read most mortalities for young orangutans occur within the first 3 years when they’re in the infant stage so Jarang isn’t out of the woods yet but I believe he will survive and eventually thrive because despite his physical limitation’s, he still continues to progress slowly.

Wow - amazing video, AT❣️ I think that Rufus took Jarang by surprise at first, but in the longer term, it will be good for him to have a little playmate. ❤️ I imagine that Rufus will learn to be more gentle (thanks to Summer) and Jarang will have more opportunities to develop his motor skills.
