Good video! Especially on the front struts. I’m in the process of replacing the stock struts/shocks on my Z4 e89 35i with Bilstein B4 and Eibach sport springs. The roads in Michigan are really bad so I’m looking for a ride similar to stock. The Eibach springs do lower the stance a bit.
@@erez161 I did buy that back when I bought the struts. 😀 And I’m lucky in that my Z4 doesn’t have adaptive suspension! I’ll try to get time this weekend for the strut install. I’ve already replaced the rear shocks and springs.
Nice video! I’m also in Madison and thinking to do coilovers on my z4. How do the BC feel? Any changes on the way it drives? My suspension is already hard.
Thank you! And nice I’ll probably run into you at cars and coffee sometime this Spring. The BC Racing and Bilstein coilovers are the best brands to go with and the comfort level is pretty damn close to stock. If you have the extra funds I would recommend the B14 Bilstein coilovers, otherwise BC Racing is great. On the both coilovers you will be able to adjust the stiffness for comfort level.
Great vid. I have an E89 09 35i too and am about to do the same. How are you finding them (I didn’t see a vid on the road use but will look more for it in case you’ve posted). Did you order the swaybar links separate or did they come in the kit? Also, are you getting much/any noise from the pillow mounts, trying to decide whether to get the RA or RS. Really helpful series. Also last question, fitment notes say 46mm and best I can find on looking up OEM is that we have 55mm strut diameter (I don’t have adaptive suspension) - seemed no issue for you so I assume 46mm must be the OEM or the knuckle can clamp down to 46 from stock 55. Cheers
@@herculesmorse9526 I love BR series coilovers, I tracked the car with them it was insane. I don’t think you need to go with ones that are more expensive unless you are getting into competition. I also chose to go with the Whiteline sway bar links. This kit does come with sway bar links though, I just did not use those.
Thinking of doing coil over on my E89 Z4. Great Vid!
great video! exactly doing the same thing early next year can't wait 😊
I appreciate it man! Glad I can get some more content out there for the E89. Super underrated car
@erez161 yeah they quite underrated hey not so many around, rarely sees them on the road. not sure what mod I'll do after coilover
Dope video E.

Thanks! It’s worth buying the knuckle strut spreader bit. Makes taking the front strut out a lot easier.

@@z4dude131 Nice! I banged up all the metal from hitting it so much lol
@@erez161 Ouch! But I understand banging on stuff when being a “backyard” mechanic. I’m guilty of it, but not on my Z, yet. 😂
good job let us know how the car feel on the road !

Hey do you know if the coilover from 3 serie fit in to bmw z4 ?
No, you need the E89 Z4 specific. We do have a similar rear end to the E46 but the front end is way different.
