- Task Force Outlaw's eastern Europe campaign continues with a brutal mechanized infantry assault on entrenched Russian positions. It is very "Combat Mission: Black Sea" ish for those who are familiar. 4 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) will be assisting 2 squads worth of infantry. The unit will advance and secure enemy defensive line, cut off the logistics route for the enemy, and secure a defensible position to hold until relieved.

Some of the terminology was hilarious, (bound by fire was my fav 😂) but good comms, making sure guys were spaced, keeping track of other units to avoid fratricide, and good use of smoke and fire and maneuver. Good shit.

Wow, reforger really looks like it's taking shape slowly. I still feel like it has more of a slight arcade feel to arma 3. I hope I'm wrong. Does it have single player content?
There are single player scenarios you can do by yourself, or invite up to that scenarios max player limit. Sometimes up to 16 in one.
Totally agree with your assessment. Def slightly more arcady with the movement system. It has a long way to go. However, I do have a feeling most of the features for the new engine are being held back for Arma 4
I'm curious what your thoughts are about playing these kinds of scenarios in Reforger rather than Arma 3. I cannot for the life of me get into Reforger, it feels like such a massive step back from Arma 3. What are your thoughts?
How? The better graphics turn you off? Actually showing your character model pulling a grenade pin and actually throwing it? Not magically tossing a frag no handed lmao. Arma 3 just has more mods and better ones but that should be a given considering how long it’s been out compared to Reforger
@@RaeAGE Arma 3 is much slower paced and feels far less casual than Reforger. Every time I get into a game master or conflict lobby, everyone is sprinting around everywhere, running and gunning like it's a competitive shooter.
Obviously I'm not opposed to better graphics, I want better gameplay. Reforger does not deliver better gameplay for me, especially gameplay that lends itself to more coordinated operations like this.
Not to mention, Reforger is a self-admitted $30 tech demo. Arma 3 was $30 at launch in 2013 and it had more content than vanilla Reforger.

Needs UAVs every 8 seconds and artillery every 30 seconds to be a legit sim of Ukraine, but otherwise good footage, lol :D. Do they have either of those in game?
Haha, oh I wish! The game is basically a demo for Arma 4 so a lot of the features are limited unfortunately.
It's always funny to me watching force-on-force missions like this where the enemy essentially makes zero steps to repel the enemy or preserve their own lives. Almost no defensive positions, running around out in the open, no landmines to prevent assaults exactly like this, no artillery or mortar support to assist, and so on. These are cool and all and probably fun to play, but I'd really like to see operations against proper formidable opponents, especially when the enemy is a conventional army like the Russians. Crossing over an open field like this would basically be suicide and almost everyone would become a casualty. This is why the battle taxi's pull up RIGHT ON the enemy positions and they get stormed IMMEDIETLY. If the fighting starts and you need to cross an open field without any kind of fire support, you're dead. And that's IF the enemy doesn't have a minefield around their entrenched position, which is highly unlikely. Assaults like this should be incredibly difficult with the enemy forcing you into specific lanes with minefields, and fire support zero'd in on those lanes. Also that QRF should be responding a lot faster than after the base is already overrun. There should be something like a tank in a rear treeline or a mortar or artillery battery on stand-by. The Russian military might be incompetent, but they have their own doctrines and ways they conduct warfare that can be studied.
The AI is limited vs PVP? But in reality...the Russians have made habit to over advance, die open in droves to minimal munitions...plenty of footage on Funker530 just in last week for example. HIMARS
