I love how Cedric is working so hard for us to find new hyena dens. The hyenas are always where the action is. So we need to know where they go. Someone from another park must know something about their whereabouts.
So good to have Chris down at Amakhala. His fresh eyes on the park is great. He has had some great sightings. So happy for him. I wish for Rexon to go to another park for us would be tremendous also. He has such vast knowledge of his home area. How would he compare things in another area of the continent?
Back to Nature!
Happy Epiphany, the 12th day of Christmas, it seemed a good time to comment on 2023 because to me it was a very sad year with unhappy anniversaries like 1 year for Thandi in April & 1 year for Hosana in May, 1 year for Dark Mane in November. Now this month we are coming up to 3 years for The Incredible Huk, Hukamuri.
Tessa, Seb and Odie left us, but Odie is now a qualified naturalist himself!👍😊
This year we lost pregnant Frankie the wild dog😢 and our dear S8 lion too.😢 We miss many and lost more, but l feel it was such a gift and privilege to have known them at all.
I miss Ben Coley, JP's bushwalks and Tristan, but very happy to see James, Jamie, Tayla again, hope we see our Trishala again. But YEAH, Steve is back- l hate missing him!😢 And thank you Vov for the adorable elephant action this morning-- Jan.6 sunset safari this morning for me.
And for last l wanted to talk about beautiful funny Liesa Becker. I absolutely got such a kick out of her self-deprecating humour, a girl like me lol! In early April when l saw her riding with Tessa, l was THRILLED to finally see our lovely dam cam Lady!! But within a few weeks she was gone forever, she was far too young to leave her fans, but her husband & family especially. Around October WE were showing ads about helping Rhinos. Because of Liesa l was calling them Unicorns too! I donated the little bit l could and l did it for Liesa's memory, her love of her precious Unicorns. When we see Rhinos now l want believe she is watching over her beloved Unicorns. Thank you Liesa, Goodbye😢, forever a W.E. family member, your memory & spirit forever watching over Unicorns under the rainbow 🌈 ♥️ ✨️. We love you beautiful Liesa.🤗🌹
To all the guides, the best cameramen ever, and those who do the techy stuff, fix the jeeps, etc and the camp cooks who keep our guys/ladies well nourished so they aren't 'hangry' during 3 hour drives, especially when it's raining lol! Troops run on their stomachs lol!
This Spring marks 5 years since I discovered WE and every second has been an absolute privilege. I am 63 but l was just 7 when l said l'd go to Africa one day. I never made it physically but l have in spirit thanks to you all at W.E.🥲

Hi everyone... sorry I missed your live show. We got new babies that need help. 3 baby red squirrels, we think mom got hit by a car. So that makes 3 squirrels, 4 baby racoons and 1 4 month old bobcat. My grandkids are a huge help. They love bottle feeding these wonderful babies.
Bless you for saving all the precious babies,you are an Animal Hero and getting kids involved will mean a new generation of Animal rescuers!👍😊🐾☮️🇨🇦
