When Mr Hikmet is given a terminal diagnosis he wonders what will become of the fortune he has worked so hard to amass - he can't leave everything to his frivolous son Emir. Under Islamic law, if a couple is divorced, it is forbidden for them to be sharing a bedroom together. However, if it is within the iddah (waiting)period of 3 months before the date of finalising the divorce, the couple is still considered legally married to each other, thus, it is okay for Reyhan to be sleeping in their bed as she is still legally Emir's wife.
This is where the writer had not made it clear to the viewers whether the divorce has been finalised or not.
