I did it a few times with my dad's old turntable, a Kenwood mono receiver and plugged in my Sennheiser HD599SE to the Kenwood. It sounded really good and those headphones were not the hardest to drive nor the most resolving. I mean, they're very good but entry level so they are very forgiving. I never even tried it with planar cans as they need an ungodly amount of amplification

this is so helpful, never considerate the weakness of practicality and noise from pairing vinyl + headphone. i guess speaker will never be replaced by headphone

I do listen to vinyl with headphones that are more forgiving of the color outside lines experience of vinyl at my house. I think experience has adjusted my expectations.

Many months ago I asked you guys if you had any solution for the issue of vinyl surface noise through headphones and you did address it in a video. Answer was basically no.

Hey guys, how do you guys decide what your next project is gonna be? I’m sure you guys have many things going on at once, but how do you decide what the next major project is gonna be? Like a new headphone or next generation of Diane etc. Thanks!

This is a really weird video. Who told you people don't listen to vinyl on headphones? 🤔

The point being vinyl can work with headphones but takes more effort (patience) to get it right. We could see someone investing a minimal amount on vinyl and excusing it entirely due to poor results. Fair warning like anything in high performance audio is you need to work at it to get it right.

Would you say your headphones are so detailed that you can detect the most minor of recording/frequency/sound imbalances? I think that's what I'm noticing with my Diana TC...or maybe I'm going crazy.

Sorry if I missed it during viewing, but what turntable(s) in the background pic and that you’re using at home?

I dislike turntable while I acknowledge its musicalities and analogueness, it is less controlled and unbalanced sound with rolled offs other than the noise.

I would think that anything selling for a “few hundred” would perform far better than the average 90’s leftover Technics bs. There’s so much bs in this game that doesn’t matter, gotta have Fck you money to play
