Meghalaya : First Day Impression - Shillong Town, Umiam Lake & Police Local Market | Northeast India

Meghalaya, known as the "Abode of Clouds" in Northeast India is a famous destination in Northeast India tourism. Since my childhood I have heard about Shillong Town, how beautiful Meghalaya as a whole is, but never experienced it from the ground. Hence I decided to fly from Tripura to Meghalaya to live my childhood fantasies and show you my first day impression of Meghalaya, Northeast India.
In this episode 1 of Meghalaya video, I travelled to some top tourist attraction in meghalaya. First while driving towards Shillong Town, I landed up seeing Umiam Lake in the foothills of north khasi hill. Umiam Lake Meghalaya is one of the largest man - made artificial lake which makes it one of the best place to visit in Meghalaya . The distance between Shillong to Umiam Lake is 15 km.
After reaching Shillong Town, I head out to explore Police Local Market also known as Police Bazaar or Police Market. Police Bazaar being the central hub of Shillong Town, Meghalaya will let you experience various the day today life in Meghalaya from food to clothing to many hustle bustle. The chaotic environment of Police Bazaar makes Police Bazaar top things to do in Meghalaya. Police Bazaar is a local market in Shillong but will give you unique experience.
