- "First as Tragedy, Then As Farce": Philosopher and Cultural Theorist Slavoj Žižek Speaks at Cooper Union
"In his latest book, First as Tragedy, Then as Farce, Žižek analyzes how the United States has moved from the tragedy of 9/11 to what he calls the farce of the financial meltdown.
He spoke on that same theme at Cooper Union during a recent trip to New York."
A masterly note in passing on the complex nature of the Israeli-Palestinian impasse of a grim confrontation....the analysis of the quote from general Moshe Dayan is typically Zizek.
In fact if you know Žižek better you will clearly see that he despises no one and no thing. He everything put on analises and critics. He is not hater in any sence.
Always inspiring
we are naked now by his speech...nothing to hide :)
And not even Zizek can reduce the fear of this powerful ideal and only powerful people can live in this ideal and understand this ideal. The meager can only grow at odds with this ideal.
Well put!!
0:47:45 Žižek talks about "Freemen" which is now released as "The Act of Killing" or "Jagal" in its Indonesian version's title. See the trailer here: watch?v=1kssnOoJ93I
paraphrased: every citizen has allotted a minimal amount of currency a month to survive, then... perhaps this is what Libya does, yes, no?
#Be that change you want to see in the world." Ghandi
*sniff*
He has a rhythm in his shoulders like the dancer from from v=GCu2XMTU76s
Interesting song
Me too. Him and Rick Roderick haha
Zizek completely despises Ghandi. Just for your information.
