LaLaLi is a play on the Korean word Nalali. in korean it’s 날라리 (nalali), which is kind of like a person who is rebellious. they don’t care about the rules, they act “cool”, don’t listen, and just known to have a “i don’t care” lifestyle.

So let me start off saying that I am a hip hop unit girlie. This is my favorite subunit. So I could recommend all of their songs. But I’m not 😂 I will start by saying that this was a really fun MV, but the live performance is also good because they have some good choreo. So I guess that would be my first recommendation, to watch the live performance. My first SONG recommendation is Cheers. It’s not a hip-hop unit song, but it is one of their more hip-hop numbers. My second recommendation is Ash. Again, not a HHU song. But one of the rappers, Vernon, has an iconic rap breakdown on this song. Vernon is half American, so he’s fluent in English. That gives him such a creative flow, with his ability to intermix the English and Korean so flawlessly.
Rebellious and don't necessarily follow all the rules, yes. Thug and scummy, NO, absolutely not. And lalali is not a real word, just a rhyme for nalali.

You should check out other songs from seventeen's hip hop unit. I will recommend 'Back It Up'.
